Caroline Harrison was the wife of 24th President Benjamin Harrison. As First Lady, she was responsible for bringing electricity to the White House. She also established the tradition of having a decorated tree each Christmas holiday season. Mrs. Harrison was also a founding member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was the first First Lady to deliver a speech she had written herself (it was to a DAR convention).
