Unmatched Heat Retention
A tetsubin cast iron teapot retains heat longer than any other brewing vessel. Where ceramic teapots keep tea warm for 10–15 minutes and glass for even less, a properly preheated cast iron teapot maintains serving temperature for 30–60 minutes after brewing. For a slow, meditative tea session - multiple steepings of the same tea over an hour - there is no better vessel. The thermal mass of the iron doesn't just retain heat; it distributes it evenly through the water during steeping, producing a more consistent extraction from the leaves.
