Treme, is area rich in music, food and African and Haitian mingled with French and Spanish heritage. The teas I chose to represent the deep African Creole roots of it's residence are Rooibos Tropics, Honeybush and Rooibos Caramel and accented with Coconut and Cloves.

Treme, like the city of New Orleans it's a part of, is a place that is vibrant in music, food, and heritage. I found out much later, becasue as a tennager I honestly didn't care about this stuff, that Treme is the oldest African American neighborhood in America. Treme is usually spelled with an accent on the last e but this form doesn't allow me to use one. There really is no way to narrow this down. A place that celebrates the of its deceased life with a jazz parade at a funeral, there is no other option but to experience it for yourself to get the gist. I'll try my best to paint you a very broad picture of Treme, or as it's sometimes called Faubourg Treme, in a nutshell. Located right next to the French Quarter, Treme is also home to Louis Armstrong Park and the Meilleur-Goldthwaite House currently being used as the New Orleans African Museum. Sure, the French Quarter might be the heart of NOLA but Treme is the soul of the city. It's residence, including myself, had an upbringing that was entrenched in multicultural music and food. We can feel a Second Line band in the area. Anyone can hear it. Not everyone can feel that deep baritone note that a tuba or a trombone makes from three blocks away. I'm not sure on the exact distance but when I feel it or hear it I can't, by any means, resist it. It calls me home and I feel it in my blood.
