In 2011, a blizzard shut down all of Chicago. Exploring the following morning, tramping through snow drifts 6 feet tall, I found this scene. Pigeons huddling for warmth beneath the L. Even with city buses abandoned in the streets, this is still one of the stranger things I saw that day.
