Vanilla compliments the spices in chai so well and sometimes a decaffeinated version is needed to warm you through those cooling, shorter Autumn nights. Honeybush is a great carrier for the vanilla and chai spices because it is a little nutty but never bitter or too astringent and tastes like you added some honey. Speaking of nuts, why not add some hazelnut honeybush as well? Creamer optional but recommended and I would think it best enjoyed hot but you do you, boo.
I was talking to a friend at work who shares my love for chai, vanilla, tea, and all things Autumn and realized that although there is an extensive variety of chai teas to pick, a decaffeinated vanilla chai would fill a niche. A delicious niche that is. I am not a fan of rooibos, so I created a honeybush decaff version of it.
