I thought I read that butterfly pea flowers needed to be boiled before consuming the tea from them...Is this still useable as a cold brew tea, or does it need to be hot brewed first then chilled?

I did a little research on Google and found that only the seeds, pods and roots are of concern for butterfly pea flowers, so the tea should be safe, even cold brewed. Here are a couple articles I found: https://teabreakfast.com/butterfly-pea-flower-tea-be

Hello TF! Our preferred method to brew this tea is cold brewing.

I thought the directions were to heat the water and add to the pitcher, which is what I did. I loved it. Though it didn't taste like mango. I did enjoy the flavor. No blue tongue either.

Is this not available in loose version? Also what are the ingredients? The description says 'blended with' so it sounds like there's more than 3 ingredients...? Lastly, what is mango 'essence?' Thanks for any answers! Usually the descriptions

Hello Mary! Everyone's tastes are different. We suggest prepping it at night and enjoying in the morning. However, you can prepare in the morning and taste test throughout the day to find out how you like it best!

Hello Devin! Yes, it does! It'll become more purple in hue the more lemon you add.
on

Can this tea be steeped twice?

on

Hello there! For an herbal like this we would suggest extending the steeping time and/or increasing the water temperature to compensate for any diminished flavor for multiple infusions. The first infusion will be the most flavorful.

I got blue mango in an advent and loved it hot, is this the same ?

Hello Blakely! This is the same tea :)
on

Would this tea still be blue if I added another tea to it, such as peach bellini?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello Darnesha! The blue comes from the butterfly pea flower and the pH level of the tea. Adding other ingredients may change the pH and therefore the color.
on

I accidentally used hot water to steep. Is this why my tea is more of a green color rather than blue?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello Mary! The blue color comes from the butterfly pea flowers, which are pH indicators. If your water is more basic, the water will be greener; more neutral is bluer; and more acidic is purple!
