Hello Amy! It does work the same as the original, and you can remove the infuser after steeping.

Can you drink with the lid on, or do you need to remove the lid? I brew and then poor in my travel mugs.

Hello Meli! These offer 12oz and 17oz versions, while the original is 10oz. In addition, this version has a larger infuser for more flavor.
