I do NOT like the official Adagio Black Forest Cake tea-- that wild cherry flavor dominates the world and is quite unpleasant in my book. So this blend is my solution. I'm of the opinion that real Black Forest Cake tastes more like chocolate and cream anyway. Choosing Dewy Cherry lets some of the tartness of rose hips and hibiscus trump the cherry flavor. The chicory and the cocoa powder of Chocolate Truffle add pleasing bittersweet chocolate taste which again subdues the cherry flavor. This is more like a European dessert than a super sweet American treat. I do add a single large good quality white chocolate chip to the tea for an 8 oz. cup. I'm sorry that's not available as a standard accent but I encourage you to add your own.
***ADD a WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIP per 8 oz. cup. National Black Forest Cake Day is March 28th, but this is a good tea to enjoy in late September for Oktoberfest and also nice for Christmas (St. Nicholas Day on December 6th being my pick).
