Compared to his brother Ambrose, Adrian is actually adventurous - Adrian leaves the house. Ambrose feels safest indoors and makes a living by writing instruction manuals in multiple languages (which he taught to himself). The smoky lapsang souchong honors the day Ambrose left his house after 32 years - the house was on fire and Adrian dragged him out. Chocolate represents the incident of the poisoned candy bars on Halloween.
