Great tea! had a lovely strawberry fragrance when i opened the packet.
while warm it had a nice berries and cream flavor to it in my opinion. when colder the strawberry was very prominent. would be great as a hot or cold tea.
The bright flavors of strawberry mingle with the roundness of basil make a perfect combo brewed both hot or iced.

Today’s communiTea made a really balanced and tasty Iced Tea for me.
Each sip had mild basil notes mixing perfectly with a subtle 🍓 strawberry sweetness creating a delicious and refreshing the white tea in my cup. Great summertime tea.
I'm not exactly sure what tea this is, though most of the flavors seemed to be there. There was the white tea, the strawberry, but the basil seemed to be missing. There was some talk in the CommuniTEA chat that the tea we received might not have been White Strawberry Basil but it was delicious regardless!
This was a wonderful iced tea to have in my tumbler throughout my work day today. I love the rush of the strawberry. I took one sip of it hot and didn't get the flavor I wanted. I immediately poured it over ice unsweetened. It was a very smooth enjoyable tea. I didn't detect the basil. Wonderful tea just like it is. I ordered it right away and have it coming soon. I followed the steeping instructions exactly. I used about 3-4 tsp (2 CommuniTEA packets) for 16 oz of water. It was delicious! I didn't save anything for my kids to try, but I'm pretty sure this would be five stars with them also.
This is a very nice tea. Both the aroma and flavor is strongly strawberries and cream. This one is great hot and iced.
Today's CommuniTEA packet smelled mostly of strawberries. The strawberry flavoring is deliciously candy-like, but without any cloying qualities. There were no bits of lemongrass to be found, but instead some apple pieces, rose petals, and a stray hibiscus petal were found inside. Steeping for 3 minutes at 180°F produced a delicate yellow tea with a slight pink tinge to it. Seems very similar to 'White Strawberry' tea in color.
The flavor of today's mystery packet did not have any basil or lemongrass, but instead mostly just plain deliciously fruity strawberry and white tea. The strawberry flavor is fruity, bright, and subtle. The white tea and every so gentle amounts of hibiscus tang balance out the flavor. Delicate white tea tannins add a smooth mouthfeel with a slightly astringent finish. The hibiscus is not overpoweringly tangy like in some blends. There seems to be mostly a vanilla strawberry flavor with a great white tea background.
Perhaps we didn't actually get the real 'White Strawberry Basil' tea blend today, but this version sure has enough strawberry and white tea to come really close! Reviewing the blend we received: It's a delicious tea that is surprisingly well balanced for one that contains hibiscus! This is how flavors can complement one another to yield a complex and delicious sip of tea.
Not much flavor at all in my CommuniTea packet, sadly!
I did not enjoy this tea. However, I gave it a good rating because berry flavored stuff just isn’t my thing, but if you like strawberry flavored stuff, this would probably be great for you! I’m not a fan of berry flavoring, but it was not overwhelming to the point of that cough syrup taste, and was mild and refreshing. So if berry is your thing, definitely give it a try!!
My mystery tea tasted and smelled terrific. It was good hot and on ice.
What a unique blend, much like its 'sister' Blackberry Sage Oolong. I enjoyed this Tea as an iced tea with a little honey. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA April 2021 box.
I was scratching my head over the thought of BASIL in tea but I decided to give it a shot.
I didn't taste the basil at all, but definitely smelled and tasted the strawberry so it tastes a lot more like a white strawberry than basil.
Disclaimer: This review is based on my CommuniTEA packet, which seems to have been a different tea.
I was a little concerned when I saw basil among the ingredients because, as much as I love basil on pizza and pasta, it doesn't always pair well with other things. I tried a basil beer once that was pretty weird and not very good.
However, the tea in my CommuniTEA packet is apparently not the correct tea. I definitely do taste strawberry; but not even a hint of basil. Also, there were definitely apple pieces in my packet, which are not listed among the ingredients for White Strawberry Basil. I think the tea in my CommuniTEA packet was White Strawberry rather than White Strawberry Basil. The tea I did receive has a delicious refreshing berry flavor, without so much as a hint of basil.
I’m reviewing the April 6th 2021 CommuniTea packet that should have been white strawberry basil but clearly wasn’t since it lacked basil, lemon, and hibiscus. This might be white strawberry. It’s light and sweet with plenty of strawberry flavor, but that is about all. Enjoyable but I’d like to try white strawberry basil. If this were indeed the correct tea I’d only give it 3 stars for lacking any actual basil flavor.
I made this iced. It had a not very strong strawberry flavor.
I'm a bit hesitant to leave a review for today's communiTEA packet, because what I got was very clearly not white strawberry basil. I see white tea, hibiscus pieces, rooibos leaves, a rose petal, and two fat, happy blueberries in my infuser basket. The packet itself has a wonderful fruity scent, and the resulting tea is berry-tastic (berry-teastic? I'll show myself out), with the juicy strawberry-blueberry flavors marrying nicely with the solidity of the white tea base. Whatever it is, I like it! (4 mins @ 175 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz)
I was a little worried about how many sour ingredients I saw on the back of the packet, but they worked nicely with the strawberry flavor. I don't taste the basil - maybe it went missing in my packet? This tea leaves a very pleasant aftertaste. (3 mins @ 180 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz)
The 1st scent was strawberry mousse. The tea was delicious, I love the scent while drinking and strawberry taste. On my list to buy!
Nice strawberry flavor comes through but I didn't really taste any of the basil or other herbs in this. In that regard I was a little disappointed due to the lack of complexity.
I have been very curious about this tea...would never have thought to steep basil with tea! I opened my sample packet and enjoyed the interesting blend of aromas...strawberry, lemon grass and basil. Sounds like a strange mix, but the scents mixed into a wonderful fruity herbal combination! Brewed 3 minutes at 180F. The strawberry and lemon grass flavors are forward with the herbal taste of basil in the background. Interesting blend of flavors -- I really like it!
I love this tea. Light and refreshing- great for summer and delicious iced
It has a mellow, gentle flavor. Ideal for a somewhat brisk spring morning! Really bright without being overpowering, so it'd be ideal to pair with a light breakfast.
Another delicious cold brew from the CommuniTea pack. The tea was pretty to look at, crystal clear with reddish-brown specks. Those were caused by an infuser failure, but still adding visual appeal. :-) The tea smelled very fruity, but the taste was much more delicate and herbaceous -- more like strawberry leaves than strawberries. Cold brewing these packets is turning out to be a good decision for me. As long as the tea is cold and refreshing, I'm a pretty happy critter. (Cold brewed with 8 oz of water in the refrigerator for six and a half hours.)
This is another tea that I have found is delicious iced instead of just hot. I steeped mine for a little over 3 minutes.
This was an exceptional white tea. It was like a cup of strawberries. I added some sugar to pop the flavor. I had it both chilled and hot and liked it both times. No astringency at all. Just lovely and light.
Strong strawberry flavors, not much basil - I brewed strong and added ice, it came out nice. Good both hot and cold.
When I saw strawberry basil I was excited for there is a strawberry lemon aid with basil that I like.
This tea on its one was light and delicate as I expect a white tea to be. The Fruit was present. In my CommuniTEA packet I feel the basil was on the weaker side.
Since I could not stop thinking about the lemon aid after drink about half the cup I brewed a half cup of lemon grass and mixed them. Which blended well together.
Was ok when sipped plain and hot. Added a touch of sugar which really helped to bring out the fruity strawberry flavor. Let the tea cool and it became a lovely balance of strawberry with a refreshing basil finish. A bit light but will make a nice summer sipper.
I just can’t with this one. Apparently I don’t like basil. At all.
Nice! Light and fresh. I love the combo of fruity and herbaceous.
I liked this quite a bit. The flavors were not strong, but I could taste both the strawberry and the basil. Nice if you just want a delicate flavor.
This is such a yummy refreshing tea. Was worried it would be too “basil-y” but definitely isnt. Such a great blend and excited to try it iced!
Love the combination of the strawberry and basil. Both flavors are present and distinct. Wonderful blend. A new favorite!
A delicious basil and strawberry tea! I tried it both iced and cold, and I think prefer this over White Strawberry tea, which has more floral accents. This has more of a straightforward strawberry flavor, and adding a bit of sweetness brings out the fruitiness. The basil provides a nice touch as well!
Has the aroma of dried basil, not fresh, which was somewhat unappealing. However, once brewed, it was decent
This was a bit more tart than I would like. It did have a nice strawberry flavor and color.
The kids drank this up like koolaid. They like the lightness of the white tea with the strawberry and the subtle basil touch.
I ve figured out recently that I m not a big fan of white tea unless it s sweetened. But the combination of strawberry and basil is wonderful in this white tea. I need 0 sugar added to sip on this tea in the evenings. It s perfect
Tart and sweet with notes of citrus. I enjoyed this combination more than I thought I would. I let it steep much longer than recommended for more flavor, and it didnt get bitter.
Very light but good. The strawberry comes through well and the basil is a light addition that makes for a wonderful tea with a spring vibe. I'm going to try it iced next
Tea has a weak flavor and the hibiscus flavor is all I can taste
An intriguing tea. The strawberry flavor is very prominent, a fun and unusual cup. I tried this in the wintertime, but I think it would be lovely in the summertime over ice.
Light and sweet with the brightness of basil. I enjoyed this hot but am looking forward to trying it cold next as I imagine it will be quite refreshing!
A slightly sweet white tea with a nice berry profile. It’s a great afternoon sipping tea
Nice fruity white tea. I usually hate hibiscus, but didn t seem to mind it in this tea.
Oh my stars! This tea is sooooo refreshing! It tastes great both hot and cold. You get different strength in the strawberry and basil notes depending on if it's iced or hot but either way it's delicious!
I wouldn t say this tea is awful, but it tastes like White Strawberry with a hint of basil powder in it. If you want to amplify this tea, get some fresh basil or holy basil and steep it with this. It turns out MUCH better
This was an interesting one. I'm not the biggest fan of strawberry in teas but the basil complimented it nicely.
This tea tastes like sour blueberry on its own. I blended it with White Peony (2:3 peony tea : blended tea) to bring in more white tea properties, then added sugar, and that's what got me exactly where I expected this blend to be. Honey-like body and taste. Slight astringency. A hint of strawberry and basil in the background. Overall enjoyable, but requires some help to taste as its name implies.
Brewed gong-fu style, 5g total of both teas, 140ml water at 185F, 30 seconds first steep. Sweetener strongly encouraged.
I was curious about this flavor, so I got a sample and made overnight fridge tea. It turned out very well: fruity but not too sweet, and the basil is very subtle and complements the fruitiness rather than tasting like basil soup. The only reason I'm leaving off the 5th star is because it's a little hibiscus-heavy and I'm not a huge hibiscus fan. Will buy again.
Really enjoyed this. It was almost a cocktail in a tea. complex and herbal flavors
