After a hectic morning event, I was excited to see this one as the CommiTEA sample of the day! It's a lovely white tea - there's a sweet fruity note to the scent and a floral note in the tea itself that's just a real treat. I often find that flavored whites tend to be overwhelmed by their added flavors, but this one is a light but complex cup, all on its own!

When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I noticed an earthy aroma. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes. The taste is floral and a bit earthy, but it is light and delicate. Overall a good cup of tea!

With only one day to go, this was by far my favorite of the week. The flavor was pleasant and soothing, and there was no bitterness at all.

★★★★☆

Light and delicate tea with hints of the expected Darjeeling signature taste.

Maybe because I ate a tart apple right beforehand, maybe because my palate has been changed/destroyed? by all the flavored teas... this just tasted like grass to me.

Light tea that is rather basic. I good basic tea!

I want to give this a 4, but I’ll go with a 3.5 rounded down. This tea brewed up darker than I anticipated. There was some grassy flavors in the first sips. After that, it’s all malt and earth. I don’t get the floral notes mentioned in the description, but maybe I oversteeped? It is somewhat herbal tasting, but lacks that “green” vegetative taste I usually expect with that sort of flavor. Overall, this is an okay tea, but not something I’d actively search out

This is a beautiful tea! Like any white tea, it is grounded, earthy, and sweet. Darjeeling adds a light, floaty floral element and a deep fruitiness that is unexpected but meshes perfectly.

I only received 1.5 grams of tea in my CommuniTEA packet which, for me, was only enough for a 4 oz. steep. I am not a fan of white teas but I did enjoy this one more than others because it was a little more robust.

Today's CommuniTEA Selection, White Darjeeling, is nice enough. Its 'ok' but not a fav for me. Its a light, white, sweet, floral cup! Perfect for White Tea lovers or if you want a low caffeine, easy breezy afternoon sip. For me, I would not need this in my stash. Its great for what it is, its just not for me. So, I give it three stars just based on that aspect. If I am going to reach for a White Tea, it will be White Pear, Eternal Spring, Tangerine or Strawberry Basil. If I am gonna reach for a Darjeeling, it will be 'Ooooh!'

Love the taste of floral and fruit but hate the headaches darjeeling brings for me.

Out of the package, the fragrance was like dry grass and I wasn’t too excited to try it. After steeping, adding a little bit of sugar and milk it got better. I didn’t pick up on any of the floral or fruity notes listed in the description which is a disappointment because I love honeysuckle and apricots. Left a slightly bitter aftertaste.

★★★☆☆

A bit too delicate. Not offensive and certainly drinkable. Taste is honeysuckle and a bit of black tea. Probably great if you like floral teas, but not a re-order for me.

A very smooth but light tea, easy on the stomach for those who cant drink tea on an empty stomach. Not as flavorful as a black darjeeling, but stlll pleasant. This is a perfect spring tea, with the scent of apricots and the tiniest hint of a floral taste.

CommuniTEA Portion - An outstanding white tea that has a wonderful depth of flavor with sweet floral notes. A hint of dryness in the back of the throat on second steep, but still an excellent tea to enjoy.

Nice, clean, delicate tea. It wasn't particularly floral, but there were no other overwhelming flavour profiles, either. It's nice just as-is, and doesn't need any fancy-schmancy stuff blended with it to be enjoyable.

This is very floral and has a nice strong flavor. I don't usually like white tea since it often is so light, this was a pleasant surprise.

A very soft and charming tea! White teas are very often favorites and the smooth, just slightly sweet feel of this one is perfect for an early morning office!

In the bag: Just the tea leaves. Colors range from a yellow-green to dark green with a few brown outliers. Curly and brittle.

On the nose (pre-steep): A light, delicate scent. Mainly a vegetal flavor with a floral accent. The barest hint of must, though it's not nearly as intense as with green teas.

On the nose (post-steep): The light and delicate nature continues. This version is more floral than vegetal, though the specific flavor is hard to place. Jasmine, perhaps?

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): We return to the mainly vegetal flavor from pre-steep. It reminds me of dry reeds. A touch of grass. The floral note has mostly left.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change.

Opinion: A pleasant tea but plain for my taste. Note that I'm not generally a fan of white teas or of naked teas. This one would have been improved by an herbal flavoring.

Preparation: 3 min @ 195 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

UPDATED from 5/31/21: There is a faint scent of flowers as the CommuniTEA packet opens. This steeps into a faint gold color, and is a lovely white tea. It is delicate and gentle, like a butterfly, with a slight astringency. Hints of sweet flowers travel like the soft breath of a spring breeze on my lips. It is lovely just as it is and needs no sweetener. It can steep at least two times. (Each steep: 3 mins @ 195ºF).

This is a delicate white tea. As it cooled, I can taste some floral notes.

This delicate tea steeps to a medium brown liquor and is very flavorful with distinct mild Darjeeling notes. Honeysuckle is the predominant aroma. I enjoyed it greatly after steeping for 3 minutes at 195 degrees. I added raw honey for green and white teas but sadly found the second steep too weak. The first one was worth it.

I really like this tea. It's light, and has a refreshing floral flavor. It's my go-to when I wake up at night and need a warm drink to get back to sleep.

a more subtle white tea, if the slight flavors of white tea are a bit much for you, maybe try this

The Darjeeling adds a richer note to a gently sweet white tea…great combo! Bought a full bag after trying a sample to keep it on hand for my dinner tea rotation!

Love this tea especially when I want something different. I use honey with most teas, but this one tastes better with some form of sugar. Still my favorite

I've never had a Darjeeling before but this one is pretty good. It's smoky and brown, I'm not getting any pit fruit flavors but maybe they come out later? It's a great cup if you're looking for a low caff clone of a black tea, I would describe the overall effect as 'savory.' This didn't make any big fireworks for me but it's alright.

★★★★★

Delicate but flavorful. A lovely tea that I will be ordering again!

Darjeeling is one of my favorite black teas. This white version does not disappoint. Delicate and very palatable.

Very nice, light afternoon tea when you don't want high caffeine.

Update April 2022: Pulled out my pack of this for a revisit. Such a delicate tea. Be careful not to over-brew or heat at too high of a temperature. I personally think the suggested brewing temperature of 195 is a bit high and would suggest 175 or maybe 185 for better flavor. You do need to get the leaves opening. is the highest one should brew it,

This tea is a wonderful accompaniment to the early afternoon. Simple good flavor. In some ways, reminded me of a well-blended oolong served at an elegant restaurant.

I love the flavor of this light tea, except when I accidentally oversteep it. I personally think it is better to under steep this one by a little. I also absolutely love how it smells!

This has a clean and pleasant flavor. Perhaps a little too delicate for my taste but appropriate for a white tea.

★★★★☆

This was a fairly standard darjeeling, maybe a little bit weaker of taste with it being white. I honestly didn't notice much of a change from a normal darjeeling but it was still fairly solid.

Very delicate, mild tea. I enjoy white tea, and appreciate that they are by far, the most subtle of the teas (imo). This was pleasant and was gone in no time, a very enjoyable cup.

Today's CommuniTea packet is white darjeeling. Such a pleasant cup of tea after rushing around all day! Thank you, Adagio! I wish I had a whole pot of it. (Brewed in 12 ounces of 195F water for 3 minutes.)

Its slightly bitter to me, but has a faint, bright fruity note to it that other traditional teas I've tried thus far lack. It's a good cup for slow contemplation.

Absolutely gorgeous white tea. It's so flavorful and silky smooth on the tongue, I could drink this all day. Excellent for a relaxing evening cup. I don't often drink white teas without fruit added to them, but this is an INSTANT favorite. It's so flavorful all on its own, but I'd love to experiment with different types of tea added for sweetener.

Delicate white tea with complex flavors that change with each infusion (3-4). I steep 2g of tea in 8 oz of 185°F water x 3 minutes. It is good without sweetener, but a drop of honey is nice, too.

A low caffeine alternative to a black darjeeling? That's great news! The tea has a nice light flavor that's reminiscent of the more common black darjeeling. There's enough sweetness to it that it's good without sweetener, but it takes a touch of sugar well. My first steep had a little nuttiness to it, and although that may have been because I over-steeped it a little bit, it still made a pleasant cup.
