This is probably one of the stronger fruit teas I've tried, & I believe my first experience with elderberry. The tartness is definitely there, & sugar does little to sway it, but I do like tart drinks so I don't mind. In fact it barely needs sugar because of a natural, berry sweetness as well. I'm betting this would make a good iced tea. As it cooled I did get some interesting flavors that I couldn't put my finger on - it could be the elderberry that got stronger, but I'm not sure.
Steeped at 212°F for 5min.

The dry tea itself is very pretty. The individual ingredients are easy to identify and would look great in a glass jar on display. When brewed, the tea is a gorgeous red-pink. The flavor is tart, but the apple pieces add a little smoothness to round it out. I find it fruity and floral, but not very wine-y as the name suggests. It would be delicious if served iced at a picnic, or hot in a glass teapot for a tea party. Definitely a tea you can show off!

Elderberry wine tea was good. The tea was a brilliant red and somewhat tart. Adding a bit of sugar created a fun to drink beverage.

This is an unexpectedly good tisane. Now, I've never had an elderberry so I can only assume the taste is correct, but even if not it's a lovely berry flavor with a touch of sugar added.

I recomend the full brewing time, this was a nice bright reddish purple tea with an almost jammy flavor

Gorgeous deep red color from the hibiscus. Taste-wise, when hot and warm the tea is quite tart, and I didn't detect much in the way of berry flavor. The hibiscus and lemongrass overpowered those flavors a bit for me. That said, I actually quite like plain hibiscus tea and so enjoyed this one. I think that the berry flavors would probably come out better if cold-brewed. And I find that many hibiscus tea blends are less tart when iced.

Looks, smells, and tastes very much like a good fruity wine. Thankfully I couldn't taste too much lemongrass, but the rest of the fruit was tartly present. It was strong and palatable without sweetener.

The lemongrass was the strongest flavor (and scent) in my opinion... I steeped for five minutes as mentioned on the package. The color is beautiful (probably from the hibiscus), and I was hoping for more of the berry flavors to come through. Ended up adding some rock sugar in and that mellowed out the lemongrass flavor a bit, but it still was the most powerful flavor here.

I like this tea. I'm always trying to find non-caffeinated options for the afternoon since if I have anything caffeinated after 4pm or I have a lot of trouble going to sleep at a reasonable hour. I like how the apple and raspberry tame the tartness of the the hibiscus and rose hip. I think I will put this on my wish list for future consideration. I can also see how this would make a good iced tea. Tasted as part of The CommuniTea.

I really didn't think I would like this because of the hibiscus. However, all the other ingredients toned down the hibiscus for me. I think the addition of lemongrass was the star. I steeped for 5 min and added honey.

It's been a while since I've encountered a CommuniTEA that I enjoy that's closer to 'like' than 'love.' I enjoy a good many things about this tea, but it just doesn't cross over into 'love' territory. Berry teas aren't the love of my life, but I do enjoy it. However, since I'm being objective, I have to give this a five-star review because the execution of this tea is perfect. I'd urge you to steep it longer than the recommended 5 minutes, but if you enjoy a nice berry tea you'll love this offering.

I was amazed when I tried this tea. It tasted just like wine. I was so excited because I can't drink much alcohol because it makes me sick. Now I get the taste without having to limit how much I drink.

I love this tea! The moment it begins to steep the color of the water turns a cranberry red. It is absolutely delicious.

This is a naturally sweet herbal tea which needs no sweetener unless you want to lighten up the tartness from the elderberry. Beautiful color and fruity aroma let you know this is a delicious tea, hot or cold.

The predominant flavors are from the hibiscus. The flavor is good. It tastes like a lot of the other berry herbal teas from Adagio. My 3 year old says, 'it is bright red! It's yummmy. It tastes good. I give it 5 starts'

I think I don't like fruity teas and then I try them and I love them. I can smell the apple but not taste it. Hibiscus is delightful and I'm wishing I immediately had more of this tea.

A nice tart tea. All ingredients appeared to be present in my Communitea packet. It was reminiscent of a sangria that had been warmed up. Need to try this tea iced.

I didn’t really care for this one. I made it iced because it sounded like I wouldn’t enjoy it hot. It had very little flavor, just some sourness.

really tart! added honey and it mellowed out. Tasted like a pretty standard berry hibiscus to me. 5 @ 212

I didn’t get the tartness that everyone talks about. More than likely it’s because I love rose hips and hibiscus. So it’s tastes normal to me. I’m buying this for sure. The elderberries are a plus. Love love love it. 💗💗💗💗💗

This is a very sweet and tart one, definitely needing no supplements of any kind; I don't add anything to my tea anyway. This isn't something I'd drink every day, but it was definitely worth a taste.

Note: This was based on a portion sample from the CommuniTEA program.

If they got rid if the Echinacea it would be 5 stars. Sweet and tart and good.

Despite the fact that I know this will give me a headache, I drank it anyway. The elderberry and is very pronounced and pairs so well with the rose hips and lemongrass. The raspberry is there, somewhere in the back, and adds a nice bitterness.

This smelled really fruity and delicious in the packet, and it looked like all ingredients were accounted for. Brewed, it is a beautiful deep red. If this were named Rose Hip & Hibiscus Wine, then they would have nailed it. I really wish some of the other flavors would have popped for me, but those two really took over the show. I went through a phase of drinking a lot of rose hip & hibiscus tea (nothing else added), and this didn't taste much different than that. On the second steep, the lemon grass started coming through, but I still didn't taste any elderberry. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 5 min @ 212F)

Dec 2 '20 CommuniTEA discovery. The tea is beautiful by itself with each component large and identifiable making it a pretty potpourri. Once steeped this bright red brew cleanses the palate with its tartness. The berry and hibiscus flavors are the primary notes. I love lemongrass but never found the flavor as the label suggested. Enjoyed without need for sweetener or cream (212 for 5 minutes)

Elderberry wine was made famous in the dark comedy 'Arsenic and Old Lace.' Two rather old, yet very sweet spinsters known as the Brewster sisters, serve elderberry wine with arsenic, strychnine, and 'just a pinch of cyanide' to lonely, old bachelors to help end their 'suffering.' It sounds awful, but it really is a hilarious, fun play. Luckily I have no fear of poisoning as this one came from the CommuniTea packet, with all the amazing ingredients to brew a lovely red wine colored tea. This is a sweet fruity tea. The hibiscus, rose hips, and elderberry are the stars, as they give this a sharp tartness, which continues into the clean finish. All the other ingredients are supporting players, and provide a very drinkable tea. I love the tart tea, so hesitate to add any sweetener. As it cools this is still very tasty, so it will make a great ice tea. I finally relent in the name of experimentation, when the cup is almost empty, to add a tiny bit of Truvia sweetener. It changes the flavor to a sweeter note, with the tartness stepping back stage left. This is a wonderful herbal tea that I will have to purchase a larger bag of, since it can only steep successfully once. (5 mins @ 212ºF).

I love fruity herbal teas! This is a great tart fruit tea due to the cranberry and elderberry. It reminds me of Sangria, it can be a sour tart fruit tea, I did add a little honey, as is my way. I liked it hot but also let it cool in the fridge for iced tea. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA December box 2020.

Sangria lovers rejoice in this tea.
To my uneducated taste buds this tea almost tricked my brain into believing I was indulging in a warmed cup of fruity sangria.
I felt steeping at 10 min was a bit too long so I did 7 at 200. Added a small spoon of white sugar and viola yummy tea.

I brewed my first cup at 175°F for 3 minutes and it was very strong, with overpowering berry flavors. The second cup I brewed at 212°F for 2 1/2 minutes, and this one I liked better. There was a lot less berry and a lot more lemongrass. I was very surprised at the difference between the two cups.

I used this tea (Elderberry Wine) along with Buddhas Dream and Kona Pineapple to make iced tea. I filled 3 tea pouches, one with each flavor and threw into a 2 quart pitcher with cold water. I let it steep overnight and it was sensational. Such a cool, refreshing tea. I hope if you try it, you'll enjoy this blend as much as we do. Will definitely be buying these 3 teas again. Have not tried this tea by itself yet. Finally tried this as a hot tea...not too fond of it. Very mild and not that tasty; somehow it works as an iced tea when blended. 5 stars iced/2 stars hot.

Not as 'boozy' as a lot of people have been saying, but maybe that's because I fully expected it to be like drinking elderberry wine. That being said, it's still delicious, and a little bit nicer with a piece of rock sugar.

But i don't really like fruit teas at all so take this review with a grain of salt. You'll probably love this tea if you like cherry teas.
