This didn’t have quite as much flavor as I thought it would but it’s still very soothing. It also makes a great base to add some glüwein or a fruity wine to for a perfect hot spiced tea.
As the name suggests, our Elderberry Wine is a full-bodied, complex tisane. With notes of grape and cranberry, it is the perfect tea to sip on to satisfy the need for bold flavor.

Not a flavor profile I am fond of. I think those that prefer a more floral, tangy flavor will enjoy this cup. Just not for me.
This was very tart and enjoyable! It was also surprisingly soothing on a scratchy throat after speaking for a long time during a conference call. The color of the tea is absolutely gorgeous - would recommend brewing it in some sort of clear container for all that wine-red goodness.
This is nice blend, but a little tart for me. With some added sweetener it was very nice. I'm saving the rest of my sample to try iced when the weather heats up, I think it will be fantastic that way.
Tart and refreshing tea. Has a nice cranberry-like flavor. Good hot or iced.
Absolutely wonderful. Very distinct flavor wish subtle fruity hints.
The only tea I bought a pound bag of. Mostly for medicinal purposes, but thankfully it tastes better than medicine.
Disappointing, astringent, and lacks depth, I recommend skipping this one unless you really enjoy the taste of wine.
Got this thinking it could be our new nighttime tea, but I can’t say I enjoyed it enough. I liked the tastes of the berries, but the lemongrass was unnecessary and ended up tasting a little too grassy for me.
The name of this tea is quite accurate, I felt as though I was drinking a warm, tart, wine. Generally I don't enjoy lemongrass in my teas, however, in this it wasn't overpowering and added the extra tartness that would be missed without it. The fruit flavors are pronounced while blending together well and I don't taste the echinacea hardly at all which is not a bad thing in my opinion.
First tried this in the Advent Calendar and immediately had to reorder! Delicious.
My grandmother is a big fan of elderberry so naturally this tea was perfect for her.
What a surprise. Absolutely delicious! Very flavorable. I will definitely buy this again.
I absolutely love it, it has a perfect balance between sweet and tart I can’t get enough!
This is, uh, nasty. Not sure how else to put it. The lemongrass is the thing that doesn't fit, I'm thinking.
This is my favorite herbal that I've had in a while! Sweetness and tartness is balanced perfectly. I'm glad it doesn't taste like wine but it has a beautiful wine-color. I had it as a sample and I just ordered more!
I love the tart flavor of this tea with a bit of sugar to complement it.
Deliciously tart, great blend of fruit flavors. And great for immunity!
This is a perfectly balanced tisane. I love both its tartness and sweetness.
I like this with chai tea and also with black tea.
It's good but not my favorite. I prefer stronger teas.
I added this to my last order because I am having to do decaf only for the next few weeks, and it looked healthy and tasty. It s not unpleasant at all, but I m not really getting a lot of flavors coming through. It mostly just tastes tart (like most fruit herbal teas do - and this reminded me why I rarely drink herbal teas. It s just missing that certain something that regular tea has). It was balanced out with a little honey, and I enjoyed it. Not one I would probably choose very often though. It might be good/better mixed with a regular Camellia Sinensis tea.
The color of this is BEAUTIFUL! It s very pleasing to the eye. <3
This flavor is ok, I don t really taste the different components that make it up
This tee needs attention to brewing. 30 seconds too long and the lemongrass takes over—30 seconds too little results in a rosehip tea.
Otherwise, it is a great tea, with a good combination of elderberry, tart, and floral features.
Ah, elderberry wine - an excellent choice as we're heading into winter, the season of colds and flus - but hopefully as few 'rona cases as possible, and may the ones that crop up be mild and uneventful!
In addition to flavonoid-rich elderberry (which has some evidence of helping avoid flu infection, see https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19682714/), this blend contains another allegedly cold-fighting herb, echinacea, and rose hips, which are full of vitamin C. So it seems like Adagio had something in mind when they created this tea blend.
I actually steeped this double strength because it happened to be the cup of the day both in the communiTEA and the advent calendar. My infuser basket was chock-a-block with tiny dried elderberries, and the resulting cup was truly wine-like in its depth of color and flavor... minus the alcohol bite, of course! I ended up adding a little sweetener to offset the tartness of the rose hips and hibiscus, but it didn't take much to turn this into a very enjoyable tea, redolent of the promised cran-grape notes. (5 mins @ 212 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz)
Brews to a gorgeous scarlet. Nice sour fruit taste with hints of floral. Overall slightly too tart for me but when sweetener is added it’s just perfect!
The first thing I noticed when I opened the CommuniTEA package was a confetti array of colors. It was quite beautiful and cheerful. The aroma was fruity. The tea produced a beautiful red tea.
The one thing I enjoy about fruity herbals is that I can forget to take the steeper out but still I am guaranteed a wonderful cup of tea. I found my self drinking this most of the day. It is quite tart so I did add a bit of sugar which enhanced the fruit flavor. I love sangrias so this was a enjoyable hot tea.
Based on the reviews, I brewed this cold instead of drinking it hot. It was very hibiscus forward, which isn't always my preference, but pleasant overall! It might be very nice with a bit of honey or sugar, but I just had it plain which was refreshing.
Really nice herbal tea. It is a little acidic and so I like to add sugar. The tea comes out a deep red and the flavor is reminiscent of a good red wine.
I really enjoyed this tea. Great fruity flavours. I did a second steep with some gunpowder added and it was great that way also. Adding to my wish list.
Tried this through CommuniTEA. The scent had me dubious due to some unfamiliar herby notes, I assume from the echinacea. But, once brewed, there was no corresponding flavor that I noticed over the super tangy fruit.
The tea was too tart for me on its own, but some sugar toned down the rosehip and hibiscus so I could enjoy the other flavors. It was a very pleasant fruity cup after that, and definitely gave a winey impression!
This was a tart, slightly lemony tea. I tried a sip of it hot, then decided it would be much better iced. I can see this being great as a sangria, or mixed with something bubbly.
I was really indifferent to this tea. I'll drink it if it is provided to me somewhere but I'm not going out of my way to acquire more.
I liked this enough to drink and enjoy but I would probably not choose this over other teas. It is mildly sweet, which I find pleasant. It does not deliver the promised tartness or complexity, however. Might be better iced.
December CommuniTEA box:
I liked the tart flavor and fruity smell of this tea.
I really liked this! Loved the tart from the elderberry and the lemon grass is strong and delicious
This tea is tart and refreshing. Nice with a bit sweetener.
I brewed at a lower temp out of laziness and I didn't get much tartness. There is a wine-feel to it. I would love to try this one blended with an orange tea, I think that would be a 5-star cup of tea.
Visually, this tea is simply stunning. The dry ingredients are varied in color, and shape and texture and create an enticing tableau. Once the tea is steeped, it's rewards with a crystal clear, jewel-toned red color. The flavor is tart and lemony with a hint of sweet and brief whiff of floral. Very nice combination of flavors with a smooth, rich mouthfeel that perhaps could be compared to a sweet wine.
I really liked this one in my Communitea box. Kind of tart with a lemongrass notes really coming through. Added a bit of rock sugar to tone down some of the tartness. I drank warm, but this would be great iced.
I am not a huge fan of hibiscus, so this needs to be taken into account with this tea. I always find that hibiscus is so tart and so overwhelming in a mix, it needs a light touch...I could taste the hibiscus and rosehips, and a touch of the lemongrass, but this in no way stands out as a unique herbal. If you like hibiscus, this could possibly be your cup of tea, unfortunately it really isn't mine...
A nice fruity herbal tea - notes of lemon and cherry with plenty of hibiscus. It was a tasty way to end my work day.
Just not my cup of tea. To me it tasted like dishwash water with a hint of flowers. At least that is how I imagine wastewater to taste.
Loving this one, and so glad it popped up in the December CommuniTEA box! I tend to like hibiscus, rose hips and lemongrass a lot, so this was bound to be one I like. I'll definitely be ordering a bag in the spring, and might experiment with making a stronger brew and sweetening a little bit. This time, I was enjoying it so much as is that I didn't add anything, and like teas that don't require sweetening! The berry-ness was lovely, and the lemongrass and something else, maybe the echinacea, added what tasted to me a little bit of a gentle bite or herbal outdoor garden quality. I think the lemongrass also added a different sweetness to the tart hibiscus. I think this tea would be great iced, too.
I enjoyed this. Nice lemony taste along with the hibiscus. It was a tea to to sip and relax to after work.
I really love hibiscus, so I'm ok with the fact that I get mostly hibiscus and cranberry out of this. Maybe a little bit of wine grape in the finish. Just a little bit tart. I bet this would be good iced!
Not really my cup of tea (sorry about the pun). I often find berry teas medicinal, and maybe I let this one overstep a bit but it had a very robitussin feel to it.
This was a solid fruit tea, even warm. Too much hibiscus for my taste but the other flavors were still present. (CommuniTea)
It's not bad, but the hibiscus and lemongrass are pretty dominant and it's hard to make out other flavors.
Just too much hibiscus notes and not enough balance with anything else. I always want to live hibiscus and it's usually just too tart. This was no exception for me. A little sugar was added after a few sips, but for me this is a no go. Loved the smell and color though!
