Each button works just fine, save for the herbal button. Herbal and black tea requires the same temperature. It'll suck up and circulate the water for black tea just fine, quite perfectly. But the herbal button brings the water to a boil and then shuts off. Altitude or not, there's no reason for the black tea button to work but not the herbal tea button. I'm rather heartbroken, to be honest. If it was the altitude, wouldn't none of the buttons work?

Worth every single penny! This is my therapeutic teapot. You literally scoop in your tea, plug it in, hit a button and watch it go! It's like watching a fountain in a spa. 😊

Love how easy this is to use. And it's really attractive, too!

Ordered this as an easier way to get my tea temps exactly where they should be and I'm so glad I did! Literally had the best cup of my life this morning thanks to this baby. Easy to use, easy to clean, and now I don't have to worry about guessing on whether the temp is close enough or not. Would give it 5 stars, but as other reviewers have mentioned, I would love to see the ability to put custom temps and times, as that is sorely lacking. However, until Adagio adds that feature, this will remain my go-to for providing a delicious cup of tea quickly and easily.

This is my favorite tea-related gadget ever. Works as advertised, and it's so, so great. I love having the machine take care of keeping track of water temperature and timing how long things seep. And it keeps the tea warm for you! I'd been eyeing this for a while and holding off on spending the money. Honestly, I'm so glad my old kettle died, prompting me to take the plunge and invest in this wonderful tea maker.

This thing is awesome, I've used a traditional water boiler for years and generally burned my white blends. Not anymore!

I was so excited to get this and it was definitely worth the money! It is so easy to use and brews he teas perfectly. I do with it came with a guide of how much tea to use just to make it a little easier. But overall it is a wonderful tea maker and does its job with precision!

So convenient to use. I set it up the night before and enjoy my tea at the perfect brew and perfect temperature in the morning. Still using this a year later and purchased one for my brother-in-law who just started drinking tea this winter and I wanted him to brew it right so he'd continue to enjoy it!

Love it! I ordered during covid and it did show up without the top or basket but as soon as I emailed them to let them know they sent the missing pieces very quickly and apologized

I initially loved this tea maker. Super easy to use and produced perfectly steeped tea every time!

However the glass walls of this tea maker have turned out to be surprisingly fragile. I accidentally bumped a glass Tupperware against it while tidying my kitchen and it broke a hole in the side of the VelociTEA! It definitely wasn’t enough force to shatter what seemed to be reinforced glass. I’m now disappointed in the durability of the product, as I’ve only owned it for about two months.

So glad I purchased this. I love that it makes a perfect cup of tea each and every time!

Update: I haven't used this brewer many times since I purchased 6 months ago and have only used it to brew black tea varieties, which has been problematic since I've often had to depress the button a few times before the brew would occur, but once the tea finally brewed, it was great. I'm trying now to use the oolong, white, and green buttons to brew and not one of them works. They all blink like they're going to brew but then nothing happens once the cycle is complete. Very frustrating. At least when it happens with the black tea button it eventually finally works! Hoping for a good response from customer service regarding a fix or replacement.

Update 6/2020: Returned the tea maker and was promptly shipped a replacement after testing to confirm that mine, indeed, was not working. The new pot has been working well thus far and I'm quite pleased. Thank you for the good customer service!

LOVE the VelociTEA!!! Tea comes out perfect every time. Just wish it had a timer, so you could set it at night and wake up to perfectly brewed tea.

I love that I don't have to worry about over steeping my tea anymore with this. I use to just heat up water in the microwave, this definitely makes the tea taste better.

I bought the high altitude version because I live over 7,000 feet. It works perfect and I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week. I love this tea maker!

This makes making tea so incredibly easy. I never used to have time to make it in the mornings, and I do now because of this awesome kettle!

Best tea pot I have owned in a very long time, love how it steeps it. Very good for experimenting steeping time, temperature and tea quantity. The only thing missing is a scale for weighing the tea.

Gave this to my husband as an x-mas present. It has been in constant operation since then. It really does make a difference by matching the temperature to the tea.

I have drank tea all my life,never thought I would find a tea maker that is so easy to use. Love it!

I love this teapot! I've tried so many over the years and this one is my favorite by far. It's easy to clean, has multiple temperature settings and brews an awesome cup every time!

This kettle has met my very high expectations. I have used this almost everyday for about 3 months, and it has been very reliable. It consistently brews a flavorful cup of tea every time I reach for it.

I have had this tea maker for just a few months and have already gotten a years worth of use out of...I love it! The ability to brew the tea while boiling the water is exactly what I was looking for in an electric kettle. The one push buttons are great to use based on the type of tea you're brewing. There are times, though, that when I attempt to keep the reheat after it shuts off at 60 minutes, it boils too much and starts to spill over. Still trying to figure out why, doesn't happen often, but I keep an eye on it for the first minute after hitting the reheat button.

Good value for the $. 5* if it could be scheduled & had custom temp+time settings.

I love this tea maker. It keeps tea the perfect temperature and actually made me enjoy some that I've always hated. I guess I just never prepared it right before. I'm tasting different aspects of it then I ever had before too.

I have been a daily loose leaf tea drinker for over 6 years...I purchased the VelociTEA Tea Maker as a Christmas present for myself (2019). I had researched all kind of electric tea pots and was hoping this would be a good choice for the price. IT WAS!!! The design is so much easier to empty and clean. I love the just heat only setting as I tend to drink on it most of the day. I highly recommend this well made tea pot.

I have been wanting to get this maker for a long time but the price was holding me back. I'm thrilled I finally made the investment. Each pot makes about 4 of my large mugs. It's so easy to clean and to use. I seem to use a little less tea this way as well. <3

So far I really like my VeloiTEA maker. It's an investment, but it makes life so much easier as a frequent (3-5 cups/day) drinker. If you're a single person drinking 1-2 cups a day, it's probably not worth it, but anything more and you should definitely consider it. Just load the water, tea leaves, put on the lid, and hit a button. The only pain point is washing (can't wash the pitcher, but you shouldn't need to, just rinse it out between uses) and getting the tea leaves out of the filter every time (gets stuck, but that's gonna happen to any brewing system I assume).

Because of the price & some of the reviews stating that the tea maker had to be returned for various reasons, I hesitated to order the Velocitea. I finally gave in & it arrived safe & sound & worked perfectly from the start. I fill it to the max line & use 5 teaspoons of any of the black teas & I get a delicious pot of tea. Since I drink a lot of tea, having the pot full & heated is a real plus. Then should I need more that day, I add one or 2 more teaspoons to the infuser & brew another pot. This has worked out well. I've also just heated water in the pot, usually to the black tea temperature, & it too works well & rather quickly.

I would have given it a great rating but I wish there were a better way to clean the pot. The infuser can be hand washed or placed in the dishwasher & the lid washes easily but by just rinsing out the pot I can see some discoloration on the base & I'm sure I'll have to do the vinegar soak shortly. I realize that since it's an electric pot that there is no easy resolution to the cleaning issue & actually, when using a regular electric kettle, how often, if ever, do we clean it? Then again, it's just water.

So if you're an avid tea drinker & drink several large cups of tea a day or more, this is a remarkable pot to have.

2020 - I've had this pot for over a year now & I love it. It's great for making an entire pot & it stays hot for quite sometime. You know those coffee drinkers who have a pot on all day? Well the same is true for me with tea. You can blend your own if you like & something special like the Brigadoon tea can be added sparingly to Scottish tea just to give it a lift. If something is just so so, you can add a teaspoon of it to one you really like just to stretch it out. It lets you be creative. And adding a spoonful of a fruity tea eliminates any bitterness you may have found with another tea.

2020- Like another reviewer who is a lefty, I do think there should be measurements on both sides of the pot, but I'm used to it. The plastic handle on my infuser also broke off recently & I 'assume' it has to do with the fact that I had been putting that part in the dishwasher. I have hot glued it back on & only hand wash the infuser. For me this pot is definitely better than brewing one cup at a time since I tend to drink tea all day long.

Love this tea maker. It never makes a bitter cup. The water flows over the top of the tea instead of being submerged in the water. I believe that is the answer to the mild non bitter taste. Keep in mind that this tea maker allows you to select your tea type for the perfect temperature and brew time.

This tea maker is everything I never knew I needed! It has a button for oolong, black, green, herbal, and white teas. Steeps it PERFECTLY. I absolutely love that it s a clear tea maker so I can watch the tea being made as well. Not too heavy and easy to use :)

Can't say enough good about this. Works like an absolute dream! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Best Tea Maker in the Market. I wouldn't shop anywhere else.

It is not only beautiful but it does a wonderful job of making the perfect tea. I use it every day and it sits o my counter top.

I love that I don't have to worry about oversteeping my tea anymore with this. I don't love that you can't set the temperature and time manually. I have fandom blends that don't really work with the presets available, so I still have to use other means to make those teas. It's also a bit of a mess to try and pour into a thermos--I've resorted to using a funnel more often than not. However, it is really lovely to be able to set everything up at night so that in the morning I just push a button and go about getting ready for work while my tea prepares itself.

Finally had the perfect cup of tea thanks to the velociTEA tea maker! I added water and loose tea, pressed the button for the tea type and it brewed to the perfect temp and time and stayed warm until I poured it. So convenient (was able to go about my day while it brewed) and such a smooth taste to my tea!

4 stars instead of 5 because it would be nice to have a clock timer so I could set it to brew by itself in the morning

Gave this to my step son as a christmas gift, he has had nothing but compliments and appreciation of his tea maker.

Works incredibly well and performs its function as intended.

I feel in love with loose leaf tea after a girls' weekend. I suddenly learned my 'meh' attitude for tea was probably rooted in poorly prepared tea bags and my ignorance as to how herbs needed to be treated. (I'm now rethinking how I cook, too.) What a quandry! My friend sent me to Adagio and I found the VelociTEA Tea Maker. WOWZA. Perfect tea, attractive to watch, quiet, simple to use, easy to clean, hygienic enough to satisfy my mother, and drinks tasty enough to satisfy my husband and daughter (both picky eaters). I've made the jump and I'm happily brewing away.

Comments and critiques:

Remove the strainer before pouring out or you may end up with a cup full of soggy loose leaf tea. (I may or may not have done this.)

A feature for times not represented in the presets would be much appreciated.

A feature to set the teapot to brew ahead of time... I'd buy an entirely new pot just for that.

Indirectly related: Adagio tins don't lable what kind of tea is within and I have to visit the site to ID the tea (Is Sleeping Potion herbal tea? Is Christmas Magic black tea?) Once I know, I'll know... this is a strictly convenience comment.

UPDATE: much as with other reviews, my one week old VelociTEA Tea Maker has stopped working! Adagio has been quickly responding with assistance and I will return my pot for repair or replacement. I'll update as this process moves along.

UPDATE 2: Before returning my pot, I removed the steeping basket, added Winter Frost (Decaf) tea leaves, then rested it in a mixing bowl. I boiled distilled water for black tea and then poured the water over the basket. I think I may have found the issue! The bottom of the bowl collected a fine silt from the tea blend. I think this is what has clogged the water intake on the tea maker. If this is true, then it would be important to either only use teas which do not yield such silt OR to use a bag inside the steeping basket.

I look forward to hearing from Adagio and will update again.

UPDATE: Adagio reports my pot was faulty and the fine sediment should not affect the pot. I've had my new pot for a week and it is working fine. NOTE: Given what I've learned about the VelociTEA maker, I would be sure to brew any tea with candy pieces in a traditional tea pot and not in a tea maker like this one. There isn't a way to take apart the pot to clean out any areas that might become gummy.

UPDATE: We are now on a month with the new pot and all is well! I use the more traditional pot for anything that might gum or clog my VelociTEA. For everything else, we use the maker. Highly recommend!

I purchased two of these units. Overall they are great. However, it would have been nice to develop a washable version by sealing the electronics.

So I know Adiago customer support is going to read this review. My $124 tea maker NO LONGER WORKS! It only heats. NO STEEPING. I know, according to previous reviews, customers had issues with the machine not steeping the tea. I love it when it works, but seriously this is and overpriced 'Made in China' crap. Please either provide me with a refund or replacement that works. Note, I no longer have the box and only had this machine for two months. This is an inconvenience for me because I have to waste my time emailing you and doing this review. I should be enjoying a nice cup of tea. I wait for your response.

First tea maker review:
It is difficult to write a review of this product because the individual parts which make up the appliance do not assemble to create an operational product. The filter basket in my product package is not attached to the handle which is supposed to keep the basket suspended at the top of the pot. There appears to be no way to contact the company other than email exchanges via robot responses and conversations. No telephone numbers are available. Responses to my questions and photos of the product received indicate that my letters have not read by an intelligent human being. My husband has a 100.00 dollar teapot he cannot use. I have purchased a fair amount of tea from Adagio, but without major damage control on the part of this company, I will not be making future purchases here.
2nd tea maker review:
After spending an inordinate amount of time trying to set up an exchange, I finally received a phone call from a company who helped me, and the company sent me a replacement tea maker.
We have been happily making tea every morning for two months. Today the filter cap that covers the pump on the bottom of the pop came off. I'm unsure about asking for another replacement. This should not happen with a hundred dollar kitchen appliance. I can NOT recommend with good conscience that anyone else should buy it. It's poorly made. If I good give it zero stars, I would.

Love this and would highly recommend that everyone get one.

While I appreciate the convenience of having a teamaker this product has been problematic. Adagio replacement policy is excellent but the product reliability and support seems poor. The 'Herbal' button stopped sending water to the infuser on my first unit and Adagio replaced it. I lost the little metal screen on the second unit. Because Adagio is not the manufacturer and has no ability to replace this part (must cost about $0.75) they replaced the entire unit. Now my third unit has the same problem as my first unit. In summary, unreliable product; great company.

I love this tea maker. Now if I forget my tea, it doesn't stew and it stays hot for me. This is the best!

I love my VelociTEA! It brews my tea perfectly, then keeps it warm. Never oversteeped.

I wish I had ordered this sooner. Now I enjoy cups of delicious teas almost every day. It makes brewing pitchers of ice teas much easier. Every brew has been perfect; bringing out the unique flavors of each blend.

I have been using the Veloci for several weeks. I really like it, very convenient, fill it, push the button and let it do its thing. No more accidental over steeping. It keeps the tea warm for an hour before turning off. I recommend you make sure the temp and time settings are to your liking before buying. As with other reviewers, you have to use the presets. I would recommend it to others.
Update: After 5 months it was not working. It would turn off while heating up. Contacted Adagio, they responded quickly and asked for a video of the tea pot malfunctioning. I sent it, they emailed a return label and they sent a new tea pot as soon as they received the old one. I am very please with the way Adagio handled it. I love the tea pot and use it every day. I'm 2 months into the new VelociTea and no problems.
