I wanted to be head over heals in love with this. However like others have said it’s really irritating that you can’t change the temperatures or times. I expected this to work with a majority of the adagio teas but black tea is brewed for 5 minutes when most black tea is recommended to only brew 3 minutes. I recognize it would have been much more complicated for this to have these modifications but still a bummer.

★★★★★

Product of the decade! I use about 1/3 the amount of tea to make a pot and it comes out perfect every time. This is an amazing tea kettle!

★★★★★

Three weeks in, its easy to set up, quick to brew and overall easy to use.

Bought this as a new years resolution to stop twice a day and enjoy a peaceful moment with a cup of tea. This had helped me find a bit more calm in my day.

Impresssed with the brewing speed and efficiency. Everything seems good to very good quality. Only two changes I'd suggest. The high gloss finish is a little too 'on' for me, perhaps something a little less shiny would make it a little more classy and not trying so hard. Also the Dark script on teh buttons are hard to read - partly due to intensity of the gloss level.

All in all, I'd recomend this.

LOVE IT ❤ 😍 💖 ❣ 💕 .VERY EASY TO USE AND MAKES GREAT PITCHERS OF TEA 🍵 THANKYOU FOR SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT.

★★★★★

I am so very happy with my new VelociTEA Maker!!! I can not wait to use it each day and try a different tea!!! It took me FOREVER to find the right tea maker, but finally, I have!!! YEAH! A perfect birthday present from my daughter!!!

★★★★★

Initially I had a defective thimble part on the inside of the pot. Shipped me a replacement and works perfectly since. So easy and convenient

★★★★★

This is so easy to use! I am going to get another so I have one for work and one for home! I love that it keeps the tea warm after it brews.

★★★★★

I love this tea maker so far. It works well at altitude and love that I can steep tea to 100% perfection and keep it warm throughout the day!

★★★★★

An intuitive and smart design! I purchased an off Brand on Amazon that didn't last but 3 months. The VeloiciTEA is a game changer for making tea. It's easy to use, and easy to clean. We use ours every day!

★★★★★

You should only buy this if you’re ready to fall in love! I work from home so the keep warm feature is so handy! No more microwaving the same cup of tea 18 bajillion times!!!

I've been buying tea from adagio since 2009, and I thought the teastein (Ingenuitea) was the core to my tea-drinking existence. After my wife got a Keurig, I found my tea-drinking lapsing in favor of coffee, cause it was just so easy. Then I got a VelociTEA and have had more tea in two weeks than I had in months. It's just so easy - far easier than a Keurig, because you get 32+ ounces every time you push the button. That's at least 3 cups of tea with just tossing leaves in and pushing one button. Then cleaning is just dumping the leaves, rinsing the stragglers, and putting new leaves and water in. It's also nice to not have to deal with the old problem of the Ingenuitea flooding my counter if i accidentally set it down on a anything at all. This machine is perfect. Just buy it.

I’d give this product two stars, but the one star is more so towards online customer service.

I was excited to try this product when it arrived and used it to brew Earl Grey Moonlight the very next morning. However, after the very first use, the inside bottom of the kettle formed half a ring of what looks to be burn marks. I was confused by this as I followed the instructions correctly, afterward attempted to clean, soak, and scrub at the stains in different ways thinking maybe the black tea had caused it, but nothing was helping. Safe to say I was disappointed with the product malfunction. I emailed customer support and was not happy with the way they handled it.

I explained my concerns and what happened, followed by requesting information on how to return the product for a refund or replacement. Instead of being informed the process, the first response was an associate emailing back that the stains are actually scaling and to buy one of their descaling tab packs and try that, followed by a back-handed comment explaining to me how to properly brew tea. My immediate response was more confusion, as this is a brand new product and somehow the issue is scaling? When I used purified water and followed the instructions to a T. And somehow mentioning how to brew tea is relevant to an electric kettle that involves pushing a “Black Tea” button how? Also, I had purchased tablets in the same order of this product, yet they’re pushing another product in a customer support email? I called the associate out, then was met with a follow up response explaining that they misspoke; it wasn’t scale, but instead black tea stains and they suggested scrubbing it off…as if I didn’t try that first and explained I did so in the first email? Mind you, both email responses dodged my request of how to return the product for a refund or replacement. You can imagine my disappointment with customer service sending back-handed comments of suggestions as if these are things I didn’t try first before reaching out, especially after explaining what happened. They finally sent me instructions on how to return the product by the third email since I had to demand it at that point, but safe to say it was an unpleasant experience. I’ll be sticking to shopping at their stores versus online.

I love this tea maker with an unnatural love and use it at least once a day. Why 4 stars then? Because 5 minutes is too long for black tea, which keeps it from being perfect.

/edit after having it for a while: I don't care about the black tea setting anymore, as this device has made my life noticeably better. My microwave no longer stores a mug full of abandoned water, I am not wasting tea by oversteeping because something came up, and I can set it and forget it so perfectly brewed tea is ready for us after dinner or running out for a short errand. I cannot overestimate how much I enjoy it!

★★★★☆

This has changed my tea game. It's so much easier to prepare my tea now. Teas will over time stain the bottom of the kettle, but that can generally be cleaned up with some scrubbing. It doesn't seem to impact the tea flavor. As I am using this more and more, I find it a bit annoying that the temps and times cannot be mixed and matched. I can't even make some teas following Adagio's instructions on the package. It would be a lot better if times could be better matched with the water temps to allow for more fine tuning of your brew to your unique flavor desires.

This is the best teapot I have ever used. Yes, there could be better temp options or a manual temp set but this pot works great. My wife and I brew 32 ounces of tea 3x a day and have not experienced any issues that some have noted. Very happy with this tea maker.

★★★★★

We have two pots now, one for my husband, one for me - we like different teas :-). It turned out to be so convenient! A cup of a fresh tea any time without any effort. I buy tea bags, this way I do not spend extra time cleaning it out. One Adagio tea bag is actually enough for the full pot in our taste.

I have tried the tea maker a few times. The green tea setting is incorrect. It heats the water to only 165 degrees instead of 180 degrees. It also should be three minutes instead of two. I started using the white tea setting to make my green tea since it is more accurate for the green tea. Other than that, it seems like a good tea maker so far. If you need to adjust times or temperatures, you might have to use a setting other than the default for the type of tea you are making since it does not allow for modifying the settings. I would prefer to have the ability to modifiy settings to the way I make tea instead of being limited to the default setting. I also would like the measurements to be on both sides of the pot since I am left handed.

UPDATE October 2022: I ordered my VelociTEA in June 2019. Today, it stopped working correctly. When I would plug it in, all the lights would blink a once then turn off. When I tried to reset it by lifting the pot off and replacing it or unplugging it and plugging it back in, it would either do the same or work for a short time and then turn off again. I have to keep working with it to finally get it to work completely, although most of the time it does not.

I ordered another one to have as a backup in case I can't get this one to work properly. I also see that my suggestions for improvement above have still not been done. These suggestions have also been requested by other customers.

VelociTEA has taken my morning ritual of tea to a whole new level. I already looked forward to my morning tea each morning but now I can enjoy the ease of having (basically) a tea percolator that keeps my tea hot and ready until I’m done enjoying my cuppa. No more reheating the water between cups and steeping another five minutes. I’m in love with my VelociTEA!

★★★☆☆

This would be a great tea maker if not for 3 issues:
1. Capacity, the tea maker does not hold very much water; just over two mugs 32oz of water
2. The steeping system leaves steeped tea in the feeder hose. This requires an extra brew cycle with plain water to clean it out.
3. Periodic descaling is needed.

I love the VelociTEA so much that when I originally bought one to use at my job (I'm a teacher), I had to buy a second for my home. It brews the tea quickly and easily, a huge upgrade to the IngenuiTEA that I have also used and loved. I love that I can set it up, press a button, and it'll beep to let me know when it's ready. It is also great that it keeps the tea warm (I tend to drink my tea slowly, especially when I'm busy) and I can reset the warm function as many times as I need to.
I do have a few recommendations for improvements, however:
1. The strainer basket seems to be made of multiple metal pieces and the loose used tea leaves will get stuck under the top metal bit. I then have to use a toothpick or my nail to scratch the tea leave(s) out in order to clean it. I think this could be improved by using 1 solid metal piece or using a welding or sealant of some kind to fuse the 2 pieces together so tea won't get stuck.
2. The plastic that the tea strainer basket nestles into juts out from the main glass of the kettle, which is a problem when it comes to pouring the tea. Because the pour spout it not flush with the rest of the container, I can't get all of the tea out of the carafe. The plastic that holds the strainer basket doesn't need to go all the way around, so if it is possible to cut out the portion that leads to the pour spout, and to have the plastic taper towards that opening, all of the tea would be pourable/accessible.
3. While the locking lid seems to securely press the lid for the strainer basket down into the basket, the lid for the strainer basket is still kind of loose and not the easiest to fit into the basket. Perhaps if the lid had a rubber edging, it would fit into the basket better?

If these improvements were made, I would 100% by the upgraded VelociTEA (2.0?), especially once by old ones wear out.

This is super awesome because you can make your loose leaf tea, or you can just make water to use your tea bags. I also use it to heat my water for hot chocolate.

★★★★★

Loved the one I bought for my daughter so much that I had to buy a second for my house. This thing is perfect! It makes perfect tea every time in only a few minutes with minimal effort. Only complaint is that the tea strainer basket can be a little tricky to clean, but still 5 stars!

I loved this when I first got it. It recently broke so I ordered a brand new one. I have had it less than a month and it wont make tea, the water gets hot but doesnt saturate the leaves. I have tried to contact customer service to no avail. Something must have changed in the last few years because it isnt the same product.

I had high hopes for this tea maker.

Unfortunately, my basket or tea infuser portion broke after about 2 months. Now the tea making function as intended is unusable. Apparently, the replacement isn't currently sold or out-of-stock, and there is no warranty on this product expect for the 30 day return policy.
I'd suggest being very careful with the infuser basket if you order one.

It does however, still heat water to the desired temperature, but without the infuser/pump system, I wish I had considered other alternatives, as I still need an additional tea making vessel before enjoying a cup.
For the price, I hoped it was a little more robust after just a couple months, or had some sort of warranty / replacement parts backing it.

I will say though, I used it a handful of times, and when it was fully working, it was great. Which is why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2. Hopefully, the qualify control on the basket's construction is good enough that most people won't have the same issue I did.

★★★★★

This ingenious device has saved my 'tea' life! It is so simple and even includes a warming button to keep your pot of tea warm for you. It's fascinating watching it bubble and brew the tea. I will never go back to the old, boring way of making tea again.

★★★★★

The hot chocolate infused with Cardamom and Rose is fantastic. I can't believe the flavor lingers long and I enjoyed it so much. Well done, Adagio !

★★★★★

I LOVE this teapot. It gets tea to the perfect temperature needed to enhance the flavor. You need this!!!

★★★☆☆

I ve spent years learning how to properly brew different varieties of tea and this machine has me so outclassed I m offended.

Update: My first one broke after a year and a half of being used twice a day. I'm an electrical engineer and isolated the problem to a single relay that is from a brand without publicly available datasheets and support was unable to give me specifications. Expect to use this machine about 1000 times. By the time the relay broke, the seal in the bottom of the carafe was starting to break. I wish they used a solid carafe with a straw that pulled up into the basket, rather than a multi-piece carafe with a pump in the base that pushed up.

★★★★★

I love this tea maker. It is very set it and forget it . I just fill it up with water and tea and it functions like a traditional coffee maker, so no guess work on my part about water temps and steeping times. I love it

★☆☆☆☆

Loved it, until it broke way too easily.

★★★★★

I love this SO much. Fill the container, press a button and hot tea perfectly brewed. Only negative: it took me too long to buy it!!

★★★★★

Absolutely love this tea maker!!! Never really thought much about how time and temperature affected the taste of different types of teas. It actually does!

★★★★★

I got mine a week or so ago, although it got delayed in shipping. I really like it a lot, and has made perfect herbal tea and black tea, I have yet to use it on the other types.

★★★★★

This is a really cool kettle that takes the guess work out of which tea brews at which temperature again…??? It makes a delightfully delicious pot of tea each time. Very pleased with my purchase! It makes me want to brew tea more often.

UPDATE (6/9/22): My replacement VelociTEA arrived on 5/27/22 after a delay due to FedEx sending it off in the wrong direction for some reason. I've been using it daily since then, and it's held up nicely. It hasn't shown any of the immediate discoloration that the first one had, either. My only critique at this point is the fact that the spout is not shaped well to give a consistently smooth pour. Its width seems to cause the tea/water to pour out somewhat unpredictably, occasionally giving it a split stream or getting a little splashy. I think it would be better if the spout were a bit narrower.

UPDATE (5/23/22): I had to send my VelociTEA back to Adagio after about a week of use because the little metal filter cover for the water inlet at the bottom of the kettle came off somehow and went missing, even though I'd only rinsed it out with water for cleaning thus far (i.e., no scrubbing). The kettle also already started showing discoloration in the bottom after only two uses despite using filtered water. My old VarieTEA kettle did the same, though, so I'm not really too concerned about that. Thankfully, Adagio was willing to accept the broken kettle and has a new one on its way to me!

I just got this today and was able to try it out for the first time with some of Adagio's promotional 'Earth Keeper' tea (not a bad blend, but I think I'd prefer it without the chamomile). This tea maker's operation is very simple, and I love how I was able to set it up, press the button, and then go and wash some dishes and take care of a few other tasks without having to stop what I was doing to pour the water into my teapot, then set a timer, then go back to my chores, then interrupt them again to transfer the tea to my mug to avoid over-steeping... The VelociTEA allowed me to do what I wanted to get done, and know that I would be able to come back to it when I was finished and find some nicely steeped tea kept at a palatable temperature which I could simply just pour into my mug and go. I really like the idea of being able to brew either a single cup or enough for my morning mug plus my tea-at-work thermos all in one go without having to brew two separate amounts at two different times as I did with my VarieTEA kettle and IngenuiTEA pot. The only potential downside that I'm seeing upon my first use is that the VelociTEA's infuser basket may be a bit harder to clean out than the IngenuiTEA with its finer filter (i.e., bits getting stuck in the holes or trapped under the inner metal rim, etc.), and some small leafy bits may end up under the little plastic lip beneath the lid. It would also be nice if the kettle had more measurement marks on it as well, instead of skipping directly from 16oz to 32oz, because my favorite mug holds 14oz and my thermos holds 16oz, so I have to guess at where a 30oz mark might be if I'm planning to fill both.

★★★★☆

With its one push button for my morning tea, it makes a busy morning a breeze! I purchased my tea maker about 1 1/2 yrs ago, and I think I let the dark tea stains build up too much. It just stopped working. I love this tea maker enough for me to purchase another one.

★★★★★

GREAT MACHINE - BUT WATCH THE LITTLE STRAINER, IT FREQUENTLY COME LOOSE AND ENDS UP IN MY SINK

★★★★★

Extremely simple to use and clean. Definitely worth the purchase.

★★★★★

I absolutely ADORE my VelociTea! It makes tea-brewing an unbelievably simple process, with a reasonable price tag too. I love that I can start my VelociTea's brewing process and walk away, only to come back up to an hour later to beautiful, perfect tea. A true MUST-HAVE product for anyone looking for that perfect cup!

I've waited quite a while to write this review, as I saw other reviews that mentioned having issues with the product. But I'm pretty confident in this thing at this point, I have had it for probably 3 months now and I'm very happy with it. Really no complaints and can't really ask for any more than what this product offers.

If you're on the fence about buying this, just go for it. It's worth it and everything works great. Easier to clean than expected too, all the stainless parts clean easily with a brush to look new again after many uses of dark teas. Very happy with mine!

★★★★★

I ordered this tea maker for my husband, who has recently started to drink tea every day. This is a wonderful product, and it keeps his cup full (and warm!) for several hours at a time! The directions and instructions are clear, and the machine is quite easy to use. For the price, I had hoped for decent results, and 3 weeks into using it, it is working perfectly, stays heated, and makes life a lot easier - without losing the quality of the tea flavor that has been brewed. 5 stars all around, and while I hope I don't have to replace it any time soon, I do know that, when the time comes, I'd happily order another VelociTEA for my home!

★★★★★

I’m obsessed with this. It works wonderfully, has just enough settings for any kind of tea, and I love that I can brew tea in it or just bring the water to temp to steep separately. So glad I finally made the investment in this. I just wish I could adjust the steep times in the kettle. @adagioteas

★★★★★

100% worth the price. No more worries about oversteeping. No more reheating cold tea. We've had it for several months and use it constantly. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and makes an amazing cup of tea.

★★★★☆

Works very well for the most part - we use it everyday. However, it’s not easy to clean thoroughly. We drink black teas and the flavors linger, we still needed to keep our regular kettle to boil water for other needs. The design of the spout also makes it a bit difficult to get every drop of tea into the cup. But overall, we like it.

★★★★★

Really love my new tea pot easy to use and clean. Makes the perfect tea!

★★★★★

I suffer from brain raccoons, so the less effort I have to make to get into the tea making process, the more likely I am to drink more tea! That said, the VelociTEA has changed my LIFE. I can prep tea the night before and start it in the morning, while I'm in the shower, allowing me to continue to get up as late as possible and still enjoy a warm drink. The multiplicity of settings (not something my old kettle allowed for) encourages me to experiment with my preparations. Lots of my faves actually get even better prepared in different ways: I like my Bella Luna Earl Grey done on the oolong setting, for example! I LOVE this thing.

★★★★★

Makes a great cup of tea and chilled for ice tea as well.

★☆☆☆☆

This teamaker worked for a couple months and then stopped pumping. I tried everything support has told me (including descaling which is their only response to any part breaking. They even sent me a new one which also came broken. At this point Ijust want a refund and they will never respond to me. Really would not recommend this. It’s a shame because I get all my tea here.

This is a great tea maker that allows you to set a preset temperature/time and walk away. It does have 2 issues that I do not like though. The first issue is the inability to customize the temperature/time. I was aware of this issue before I purchased this so I am not going to ding it a star for that. The second issue is the inability to turn on the keep warm function without running a preset program. I was not aware of this issue before I purchased this. The problem is with teas that require different steeping times for me. Even if the temperature is the same, I cannot set a timer to stop the tea manually and then be able to turn on the keep warm function to keep the pot warm.

In the next generation of this product, I would like to see the ability to customize the temperature and brew time on the VelociTEA. I understand the need to meet a certain price point. This product is priced well in my opinion. Perhaps a deluxe version could be available with the added customization features (and maybe a LCD screen like some models out there).

This electric tea infuser reminds me of an old Russian samovar my grandparents used to have in the old country. Velocitea Tea Maker is however much more convenient. In no time it makes fantastic teas. Just remember not to use too many tea leaves or it will be too strong to enjoy. @adagioteas
