This has been the highlight of my past two months. It steeps perfect tea every time and is so easy to use and clean.
Fill with water, add leaves, and select your tea variety. The kettle will heat water to an ideal temperature and then steep for an ideal duration.

My favorite appliance in my house! My husband bought for me during Covid because I wouldn't spend the money on myself. I quickly found myself addicted! So easy, such good tea! You need this in your life!!
I am very pleased that I purchased the VelociTea Tea Maker. I enjoy being able to use loose teas by choosing the type of tea button on the front panel. Also, being able to keep the tea warm once brewed is really great!
Have bought several for work and home. It is the best tea maker I have ever used and there have been many!
I have been wanting this bad boy for ages. Does not disappoint!!
I originally bought a Velocitea Tea Maker about 6-7 years ago and it worked great until earlier this year. I bought another one in May 2025 and it has stopped working already. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm very unhappy considering I used a large portion of my earned points to purchase it.
I started off enjoying Tea with an old Teavana tea pitcher that you put on top of your tea cup. Those were great for making tea at work, but were a pain to clean back out, especially if you lost track of them before cleaning. I got one of these tea makers for Christmas last year, and have loved it. Where the Teavana pitcher made good tea, this tea is significantly richer and more flavorful.
As I see it, there are two problems with this tea maker. First, it lacks a low-volume sensor of some sort to keep it from boiling dry if you pour almost all the tea out and then put it back on the base without turning off the base. The second issue is that the inside of the top of the tea maker isn't flush with the glass, thus resulting in tea becoming caught along the top edge and not all tea being poured out. This isn't really a major problem, but I would prefer if I could decant all my tea. Because of the latter issue, I have found that it is best to run a pot full of clean water with no tea in the hopper after each pot of tea brewed, as that helps prevent clogging of the water sprayer.
I love this tea maker. Easy to use, simple to clean, and I love that it has so many tea type options.
I use this thing multiple times a day, every day. My cost per use has to be pennies on the dollar at this point. I do not use it as much to make a full pitcher of brewed tea, but I do use it to keep tea water hot all day. It doesn't take too long to heat the water and the variety of temperatures comes in super handy as I make my way from green to white to herbal through the day.
It’s been an appliance I use almost daily. I absolutely love that I can do
Loose or bagged tea. Great for boiling water to jump start cooking too. I feel like this electric kettle completes me and makes my life finally feel like that giant hole that’s been present ever since mom left is finally filled.
So far it has been easy to set up. Arrived in perfect condition. I have put this next to my bed as I have pretty consistent migraine headaches. This way I can fill it up and have it stay warm while I relax in a dark comfy room. It's notably smaller than the Breville maker I got probably 10 years ago now. It's also a LOT less expensive! I'll update this review in a bit after I have adjusted to using it.
This is my initial, out-of-the-box and first-time use review and will update as necessary.
The packaging is superb and there was no worry of the unit being damaged (the retail box is decent and has good spacing and materials and the whole order shipped in an extremely well packed box). This is great to see from a company that specializes in tea but also sells accessories and other items that are more breakable than tea.
The overall look of the device is nice enough if you're into the whole brushed stainless aesthetic (guilty but I prefer darker) and looks well-built overall. The base of the device is heavy and has a decent length on the power cord with a built-in retainer/organizer for it if you want it shorter and out of sight. Raised protective bumps on the bottom of the kettle itself help keep it slightly raised off of the base so to reduce friction and other direct-contact related issues (aids in cleaning etc). The kettle itself is a bit suspect in the alignment and stability of the plastic pieces and how long it will last. The internals (the parts that matter) looks very solidly built and if you maintain it properly then it should last for years. The top feels a bit lacking in the seal department but it works without issue, just the handle and top feel a bit flimsy (and probably due to the other parts feeling that good by comparison making them seem as such). The infuser/tea basket is very large and there is no way you could stuff it too full with the max amount of water the device can handle no matter how strong you like your tea--it is perfect size for people that like mixes/blends or teas with larger leaves. It's also great for the ball or gundpowder styles since it has ample room for them to unfurl and breathe. Again though the materials feel a bit weak/chintzy but they work, I don't really see it breaking except possibly deforming with misuse over time--I would be interested to see how it handles a heavy cleaning though after a lot of use.
I have made only one cup so far with it (a white tea) and it came out...I want to say 'perfect' but I am by no means able to make that judgment call with my limited tea experience and knowledge, so instead I'll say it was perfect for me. I bought this unit specifically because I keep failing at making tea properly--I've tried different ways but even infusing it in the travel container from Adagio was failing due to me forgetting about it and over-steeping--I get too distracted to make tea properly. This device was the perfect answer and it has so far filled the need I had for making a good cup of tea more proper than I could make it.
I plan to use this daily but at most 1-2 cups of tea a day so I have high hopes for it that so far it seems to be able to deliver on with ease. I definitely recommend the VelociTea Tea Maker if you want to make a good, 'proper' cup of tea with little to no margin for error. It's pretty awesome.
I like this I haven’t infused tea yet but I like the option to
Love the tea maker. it makes the tea process so much easier. All you do is add water put the tea in the strainer and hit the right button. perfect tea every time.
I bought this for someone as a Christmas present and they love it so much that I think I’m going to order one for myself.
I purchased this to replace my aged Cuisinart and it is amazing. Everyone who’s used it at my house has nothing but good things to say
This thing is the coolest tea maker ever. We absolutely love ours.
I had asked Santa for this and he came through. Since I like all sorts of teas, it is so nice to be able to easily select the correct temperature and brew time. And it brews it for you. Such a great design. Love it so much!
I am really happy that my wife bought this for me! My tea taste so much better and the dedicated tea brews is awesome.
This is a great tea maker. I set iy up the previous evening and all it takes is a push of a button to get it going to a delicious cup of tea. It is just as good as making it with boiling water and a teapot.
Love it simple and delicious.
I have it daily and enjoy every single time.
This pot makes delicious tea! I make pot in the morning, have a cup, and then put the rest in a thermal carafe. When I get home after work, the first thing I do is pour myself a cup. My brother was visiting, and I offered him a cup from my carafe. That was a mistake. He liked it so much he drank it all during the morning and I didn't have any tea when I came home.
Absolutely love my new tea maker! Works fast and efficient. Would recommend for any tea lovers! Super easy to make tea daily.
good at heating and keeping warm but some water/tea always gets stuck and the solid bottom on the infuser keeps some teas from reaching full flavor.
Love this tea maker. I never have to wonder if I am making it wrong. Works great to be able to enjoy teas frequently.
Wonderful tea maker that helps me brew and steep to perfection.
Over the last decade or two, on most mornings, I'd boil a cup or so of water in an electric kettle, pour it over some loose-leaf tea (fine, herbal 'tea') that I'd put into a metal strainer, and let it steep for a few minutes. I'd remove the strainer, set it on the little cap (assuming I remembered to bring the latter into my home office), and deal with dumping into our countertop compost bucket when done. Seemed to be a reasonable method of getting some tasty tea.
Every so often, I'd see a clever tea-making gadget, but there was always some quirk that would emerge that seemed like a showstopper. A few years ago, I saw an awesome tea-maker on a crowdfunding site and it didn't seem to suffer from any such quirks, so I backed the project and waited for the 'perk' of the discounted tea-maker to be delivered. It's been about four years now and for various reasons, we backers are still waiting.
But that's not what you're here for. A few months ago, it dawned on me that an old-school coffee percolator could be a really nice strong tea-maker since the steeped water gets to steep again, over and over, but in all my searches for a percolator-style tea-maker, I found only two: a cheap one that had mediocre reviews and this one.
As soon as this one came back in-stock, I ordered it and I really like it. I've gone from 1 cup of tea per day to 3 or 4, in part because it's so easy to use: fill the carafe with water, fill the strainer with loose-leaf tea (and, in my experience, I can use *less* tea than normal because it makes the brew stronger than regular steeping), assemble the three top parts, and press the button corresponding to the type of tea I'm making. Since this is happening in another room, I mentally add a few 'boiling' minutes to the brew time and set a timer in my office so I know when to walk back out and pour.
Two Downsides: 1) I don't like that my tea must be poured over over a thick piece of plastic; I'd prefer that it be metal or glass. (I suppose a very inelegant way of handling that would be to transfer the tea from carafe to cup via a turkey baster!) 2) At the end of each day (or when I want to switch flavors), I dump the old leaves (no big deal) and run a water-only cycle (and I use the 165F/green-tea cycle since it's the fastest) so that any lingering flavors are rinsed out of the percolating loop. (I'm basing that requirement on my understanding of what's left in the percolating loop since I don't see a way that fresh water could be sequestered for an automatic rinse or anything.)
If someone is a tea fan, I think this is a great buy. If someone uses a tea bag once a week, this may not be the right tool for them.
The tea maker looks sharp and makes great black tea in both bag and loose leaf form. I love the convenience.
4 YEARS LATER:
Hey, this latest tea machine made it 2 years instead of 1! But in the end, it didn't make it. It started shorting out on me every time I rotated the pot, or turning on for a couple seconds when I pushed a button and then turning off again. Granted, I use this thing 2-3 times a day, so I got at least 730 uses out of it, or 13.6 cents a pot of tea, which isn't bad.
2 YEARS LATER:
This is still an excellent machine that makes the best tea I've ever had, with no competition like it. However, expect to replace it annually if you use it daily like I do. At one year on the first machine, the heating element quit. Support kept insisting to my husband and I that I should descale the machine... for a machine that just wouldn't heat water. Don't expect support to help if you run into issues with the pot. Their only advised troubleshooting step is descale.
At one year on the second machine, I am replacing it now because the pump died. Halfway through my pot of tea! Couldn't even enjoy one last pot. It's descaled and water still flows through it just fine if I run water through myself; it's just the pump that doesn't work.
8 MONTH UPDATE:
I use this tea machine every day, sometimes several times a day, and it's still going strong. I've noticed some teas require a little fiddling (running the green cycle twice on mocha nut mate, for example, or turning it off three minutes into the black cycle for cream). This machine still makes the best tea I've ever had, because I don't have the patience to make a proper pot of tea manually before work every day. It could be made perfect with a digital option to fine-tune time and temperature--I'd gladly shell out $100 more for that--since many of Adagio's blends aren't quite at the machine's presets. But that's just me being fussy. All in all, this is one of the best purchases we've ever made for the kitchen.
ORIGINAL:
My husband bought me this tea machine for Christmas and I just tried it out last night with both a black and an herbal tea. Color me impressed! This makes very good tea, full of flavor and smooth. It's also -fast-. Pretty sure this is my new favorite device in the kitchen.
What a great tea maker. I have made a cup of some my favorites side by side with the VelociTea and the IngenuiTea and it is perfect. My only issue is that I never steep black teas for 5 minutes, nor do I steep oolongs for 4 minutes. My solution is to use the white tea setting. The lower temperature does not change the flavor at all. AND the VelociTea is superior to the Breville when it comes to herbals. With the Breville, finer leaf herbals such as rooibos and chamomile end up in the pot after steeping because of its drop down basket. Descaling is essential.
Works like a charm, just be sure to use the descaling tablets to keep it clean and running well as best as possible.
I use VelociTea Maker every day and I don’t want to be without one. I invest in the best Tea, I want temperature correct and time steeped right, Perfect every time!!! I can stop the steeping time and set it to keep warm and it goes to last temp set. It handles well water everyday without a problem~ When cleaning be careful not to get the base wet, fill to minimum amount of water, I ruined one base using cleaning tablets and to much water. A small amount of vinegar added to water works great to clean it also. I love this tea pot it’s simple and easy, It has a Nice beep when tea is ready to Enjoy*
This is a cool kettle and I had an awesome time on first use. It was easy to use and I so enjoyed being able to go back to more perfectly warm tea that didn't oversteep without having to pull any infuser baskets out or fiddle with settings - just push a button and go!
However, on my second cleaning (the first being on arrival), the infuser basket popped off of its rim after minimal pressure while I was handcleaning it. I assumed it would go easily back in if it came off so easily, but I was sadly mistaken. I reached out to Adagio customer service to see if they have replacements of that part, but that doesn't exist right now. So, for a while, it was just a very expensive kettle.
I have since played around with bending the infuser basket to tighten up its grip on the rim for long enough for it to brew and thankfully have had enough success that I can brew tea in it again, even if I wouldn't trust the basket to stay up as long as it has previously, so it isn't a complete waste!
Overall, since I can make it work, I'm not mad I purchased it, but when it eventually no longer functions (hopefully multiple years from now), I almost certainly won't be purchasing it again.
I could never get into daily tea, which I do enjoy very much, until I purchased the Tea Maker. It is so much fun to watch and better to enjoy the taste!
My teapot gets a lot of use. Roughly 3 times a day, everyday. I have two-three cups of tea and I use it to make hot water to pour into my dogs food. I can't say enough good things about this pot. Easy to use, clean up, and heats up the water quickly. I do wish there was additional settings for time.
So far this is an amazing tea maker!! I have read reviews that it stops working, but I use this daily with filtered water and clean it out after each use and have had no issues 3 months in. I hope it continues to work as well as it does, because it has made tea making so much more enjoyable. I love the pre-set settings.
UPDATE 12/18/23 - Water pump has officially died. Kettle still heats up water but does not pump water up to the basket. It would be nice if you could buy just the pump. I took the base apart and it would be very easy to replace if it was purchasable.
such a fun tea Maker to watch at work, it also makes a great pot of tea for those days I want to make larger amounts
Makes my morning tea so much easier to make. The night before i fill with water and put my morning tea selection next to it on the counter. I can almost sleep walk over to it, put the tea in the basket, hit the button and don't have to do another thing until i pour it into my mug. Tea is brewed perfectly everytime.
wonderful product, my tea has never tasted better. useful even to just boil water for other purposes. i love this thing.
At first I couldn't image buying this but it is worth every cent. It makes a perfect cup of tea every time.
I loved this tea maker until it spit out water today (yes, I had everything set right!!) and flooded the floor and the base of the unit. It worked so well up until that point. I am so disappointed!

This is a total game changer for me. I had an old Krupps tea maker which had a tiny basket and worked along the same principles as a coffee maker. It was noisy, hard to clean, and slow. The VelociTEA is quiet (after the water boils) and is FAST. It keeps the tea at the proper temperature for an hour. Big basket so the leaves can actually unfurl properly.
One thing to note is that you can use less tea per cup. Mine makes my black tea, well, ...black. That's after reducing the number of teaspoons of tea needed by one. That's fine. The old tea maker needed two or three runs to make it halfway tolerable. Now, it's just a matter of fine-tuning to my preferences.
One thing I remember seeing or being told was that this didn't work at high altitude well. It works for me just fine and I'm at about 4000 feet. Now, back when I lived at 8500 feet, it might be different, but honestly, the boiling point of water here is lower and it does a stellar job.
Before my VelociTEA maker, I had to buy a water kettle as well as the tea maker. Now, the VelociTEA does both. And you can set the water temperature to whatever tea you're making. So, it really is terrific for making matcha or just boiling water.
I will post updates if needed, but so far, I am really impressed with the product.
This is a great tea maker. I love that you are able to pick temperature based upon the tea; and the water filters down over the tea for an excellent steep.
Sadly, I went to start up my Tea Maker this morning only to discover it is not functioning! It last four months. Will reach out to Adagio re: life expectancy of this product...since mine appears to have reached an early demise
I am madly in love with this and use it Everyday!! The heat only option is perfect, the fact it keeps your tea hot so you have time to get through your first or second cuppa!. Perfection! Thinking about buying one for my desk at work!
I LOVE this tea maker. I take it with me on vacations and use it every day at home. It always brews the perfect cup of tea on the second setting of 180. I love that I can brew it for multiple cups or just use the heat only option for matcha or herbal teas. My only complaint is cleaning it is very difficult and I wish we could buy the cups that hold the tea separately as ours always seem to fall apart after about a year and we have to buy a new tea maker. Still, it's worth rebuying since it works so well.
I just bought my second so I have one at home and one for where I frequently travel. It brews perfectly every time. I need less sugar, and teas are less bitter and over steeped.
We purchased this Tea Maker in late 2020 and it worked great for 2 years. Then the pump died. Based on other reviews, we figured it was possibly due to lack of descaling for 2 years so ordered a new one in December 2022 and committed to regular descaling. Now, 3 months after purchase, the new one quit working. This one will not even heat; the buttons light but otherwise does nothing. Have submitted an online request and waiting to see what Adagio says in response.
I'm loving it so far. It's my first week and it's already gotten a lot of use. The convenience of not having to wait on the kettle than wait for steeping is wonderful thing. I still fire up the kettle for the daily CommuniTeas, but other than that this is my go to.
This is a fantastic addition to our tea drinking household. Simple enough to use and clean if you use good water instead of tap water. The only drawback is if you have a tea that doesn't fit into the set temperature and time. It would be nice to have the ability to mix and match or at least have one setting that you could control. Overall a great purchase!
So convenient. I have not had a bad cup of tea since this purchase. I’m impressed how well it works and how enjoyable the tea is compared to brewing it myself and trying to fry the temperature just right.
Best purchase I have made recently! Makes morning routine very easy! Just add water and tea then select the right brewing option.
