Our matcha accessories are inspired by the typical accouterments used in chanoyu, the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Use the bamboo scoop to measure out the matcha into the strainer and sift into your matcha bowl. Add a small amount of hot water in the matcha bowl, then whisk into a thick paste. When the powder is evenly distributed then add the rest of the hot water and whisk in a "M" formation until a fine, light-green foam is produced. Place rinsed whisk back on the ceramic holder to help maintain its shape.

I received my tea today but no instructions how to make it. Do I need a something to put the tea in and how much tea for a serving?

Matcha is a very custom tea experience. We recommend using 1tsp of tea for 6-8oz of water, and then varying based on your taste preferences. You can use a small bowl to whisk your matcha before transferring it to a mug. Hope that helps!

What is the strainer for?

Many people like to sift their matcha into the bowl to ensure its the finest powder, with no lumps or particles, similar to a baker sifting flour.

Any chance this will ever be sold as a set? I'd love to see it offered in a bamboo case of sorts for storage and presentation.
