If you use tap water for tea, limescale deposits will build up over time on the surface of your electric kettle or tea maker. To remove these and keep your appliances running smoothly, scale must be removed using these descaling tablets. Simply dissolve a tablet in about 8 ounces of water, and run the appliance using its 'black' tea setting. For optimal performance, we recommend descaling your kettle or tea maker once a month. Expiration date is 2022/08/31, but will still work well to clean your machine.

How do you use this in your velociTEA? I filled to the minimum line and allowed one tablet to dissolve. Then I set it to the black tea setting and it started boiling over so I had to shut it off.

Hello Kelli! Happy to help! You do not need to turn the velociTEA on for the descaling tablets to work. You could use warm or room temperature water, let the tablet dissolve, and let sit overnight. Hope this helps!

Hi there! You can absolutely use these for VarieTEA if the bottom of the unit needs descaling (might be tricky to use this solution for the top parts of the machine). Warm water, sit overnight, rinse thoroughly!

Hello Catherine! It could help with tannins, but we do recommend a distilled vinegar solution or baking soda paste with a good scrub as well! This is best for scale specifically.

Hi there! To use with utiliTEA, add warm water and the tablet. Then, let sit overnight. In the morning, pour out and rinse thoroughly. Careful not to get the bottom of the utiliTEA wet near the electric components!
