Hello Megan! We recommend two heaping teaspoons for 8 oz when brewing iced tea, so you may want three heaping tablespoons, depending on your tastes.

Can all your teas be used for cold brew and is the flavor just as good as steeping it in hot water?

Hello Michael! All teas can be cold brewed, but as suggested, some are tastier than others. Everyone's tastes are different!

You can cold brew pretty much any tea--some do better steeped hot, while others are even better when cold brewed. It's mostly a matter of opinion which is which, though!

is there an easy way to get that elastic collar back on? It comes off every time I remove the infuser basket.

Hello Denise! We find it's best to place it back on from top-down, rather than pushing it from bottom-up, if that helps! Also, aline part of the rim inside the collar and stretch the rest over.

I'm pretty sure you can use this one to brew with hot water, at least it says on the site that all of their iced tea makers can be used for both hot and cold brewing: https://www.adagio.com/teaware/iced_tea_makers.html Hope this helps!

How do you clean this? How do you safely remove and insert the middle piece for cleaning?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello Jessica! You can take the pieces apart to clean separately. Plastic pieces we recommend hand washing, and everything else is dishwasher safe.

I don't get it- do you leave the stainless middle insert the entire time it sits in the refrigerator or do you remove it after brewing. No directions at all...

Hello Mark! Depends on how strong you enjoy your tea! Herbal teas can stay infused without going bitter, but other teas do risk going bitter from over-steeping. Once the tea is to your liking you can remove the infuser.

When brewing hot and then cooling, I use ~5tsp, for cold-brew I use ~8tsp. I also reuse leaves and add 1tsp fresh leaves when doing so.
