Monroe was a spitfire of a Sheltie who came to live with me as a 3 year old troubled ex-chaindog. On a good day he was warm sunlight kissing the first peach blossoms of spring; on a bad day he was the hound of hell let loose in suburbia.
Life was never dull with Monroe; in the years we were together he taught me more about compassion and resilience of spirit than any other dog I have known. He passed away some time ago, but the lessons Monroe shared live on.
