The base for the blend is the assam melody. This provides a black tea base offering a rich and malty sweet flavor without a lot of astringency. To compliment this base, honeybush vanilla comes into play to provide a sweet aroma of honey and taste of vanilla. The final addition to the blend is the rooibos earl grey. This tea will provide a little more sweetness as well as the citrus taste of the classic earl grey. This part is in the smallest concentration in the blend and so will not overpower the other two teas yet will simply impart a orange like hint to the flavor and aroma of the blend itself.

The inspiration of this tea is to create a tea that is naturally sweet without the use of sugar. Furthermore, the goal was to make a tea with caffeine to help get people through a busy day yet was not bitter which is common of black teas that may become bitter if left to brew for even a few seconds longer than desired.
