The wonderful healing qualities of lemongrass, spearmint, peppermint and ginger are combined in this tea that represents the literary protagonist Hester Prynne from Nathanial Hawthornes "The Scarlet Letter." During puritanical times of the 1700s, Hester is forced to wear a red letter "A" on her breast for her moral sin of "adultery." Even though it is intended to mark her as a fallen woman, Hester's individuality, integrity, and dignity allows her wear the punishment with pride. Though shunned by "respectable" society (who turn out to be more depraved than she), her sensitivity, compassion, and service for the poor eventually transforms her "A" into a symbol for "angel." As a strong and moral heroine she taught me to respect the humanity of others. May this tea heal and uplift you the way Hester helped those in pain or sorrow.
