Even with the vanilla component, this rooibos is too strong to me
Rich vanilla and sweet, lightly fruity Rooibos herb. Warm sugar cookies, mellow flavor, smooth finish. Yum!

Even with the vanilla component, this rooibos is too strong to me
A very rich, vanilla flavored tea. Definitely more of a dessert tea since the vanilla brings out a sweeter aspect then I usually like in my tea. For for vanilla fans, this should be a go-to tea.
I'm not a big fan of rooibos, but this one was okay. The vanilla was a bit light in this.
Usually, I prefer Honeybush or the green rooibos, but the vanilla in this red one is very nice! In the CommuniTEA packet, very vanilla. Once brewed, the vanilla overpowers the red rooibos. I usually find red rooibos a bit unpleasant, with a weird after taste, but the vanilla in this cancels that out. nice herbal tea!
So good. So tasty. I enjoyed this hot on a crispy cool Michigan morning
I got this in the CommuniTEA box and I am not usually a rooibos drinker. This one was fine. Someday I will find a rooibos tea that helps me see the appeal, but this isn't the one.
Rooibos is still quite a new taste for me. I liked it but would never choose it over a
Good green or black tea. I do enjoy vanilla flavor so it makes a pleasant non caffeine beverage
I am one of those people for whom red rooibos usually tastes like cough syrup. I am also one of those people who likes vanilla teas in blends - a lot, in fact - but vanilla teas on their own taste like drinking a Yankee Candle store. So I was expecting to hate this tea. I assumed it would taste like candle-flavored cough syrup, which is one of the more unappealing prospects I can think of.
Instead, I... almost hate this tea. I hate it less than I thought I would. I hate it less enough to give it three stars, even. The candle flavor kinda sorta reins in the cough syrup vibe a little bit, and the cough syrup flavor kinda sorta reins in the candle vibe a little bit. So it wasn't as awful as I was bracing myself for.
But still. No thank you.
This tastes like how vanilla extract smells, but without the worry of it not tasting like it smells.
I could see this working well as a supporting character in a blend. On it's own, I enjoyed a nice cuppa, but am not inspired to run out and buy more. That said, I could see it enhancing other flavors well without hogging the spotlight!
This tea is drinkable and I do drink it every time I receive a sample, but I wouldn’t choose it. I’m just not a rooibos fan and you can definitely taste the rooibos. The vanilla does help.
I wish I liked rooibos. I'm sure its a great tea. But the vanilla only amplifies the rooibos flavor and doesn't cover it up :(
I had tried this side by side with the honeybush rooibos when I had the rooibos/honeybush sampler and I hands down preferred the honeybush vanilla, as the rooibos imparted the often off-putting 'burnt' flavor to the blend that turns a lot of people off (myself included on occasion). However, having this as a standalone tea it's not bad. Mellow vanilla flavor and easy sipping. I'd still lean towards the honeybush version, but if you're a fan of rooibos, you'll like this.
Communitea has taught me that I am not a fan of red rooibos. Keep hoping my palette will grow but doesn't seem like it will be. This is rooibos and vanilla. Not my cup of tea but others may find it to be divine.
Just not a rooibos fan. It smells sweet, warm, and herby but even the sweetness of vanilla can’t overpowering the weird bitterness of rooibos for me.
Hmmmm…is red rooibos slowly converting me to like it? I am typically not a fan of red rooibos based teas but this one was not bad. Tastes like vanilla cupcakes.
I like rooibos, but was a little worried with the rooibos vanilla combo. 'Okay' is best to describe it. It's not bad. I can see others really not liking this. I'll finish the cup but don't plan to buy.
This isn't my favorite vanilla rooibos. It's more woody and medicinal than varieties from other vendors. With sweetener, it can get close to a warm sugar cookie taste, but plain I really have to search for the flavors I like. I vastly prefer Adagio's blends made with this tea far in the background, such as the the Hugs and Kisses tea
Rooibos pairs well with vanilla. It makes a good caffeine free brew for a relaxing cuppa. Nothing about the blend really stands out to me. It probably would “play well with others” making it a good tea to blend with other teas.
Pretty good. It has a good vanilla flavor and I think this would be a good afternoon tea since there is no caffeine. I'm a bit caffeine sensitive. I'm a big black tea fan, so it is missing something, but it's still fun to drink.
CommuniTEA Sample: Not a big member of team Rooibos, but this one is ok. It does have some nice vanilla aroma and flavor. A bit of sugar sweetens this up a bit and hides the medicinal flavor from the rooibos that I get. Overall, not bad, but not one I will get.
I do like rooibos. I even bought the portions pack to try different flavors. I like the vanilla, it balances well with the tea. Nice comforting cup to enjoy in the evening because it has no caffiene.
This one is pretty straightforward and pretty delicious! I favor rooibos blends because of my caffeine sensitivity and the addition of creamy vanilla here makes for a lovely dessert cup. I added some sweetener to make it even more scrumptious. The vanilla here is top notch too! The flavor reminds me of premium Madagascar pods just cut open. YUM! Happy Sipping!
This tea has a nice, warm vanilla fragrance and taste. This is great on its own, and is nice in blends.
Nice smooth vanilla taste over a rooibos base that’s impossible to overbred
I smell vanilla
Vanilla all the day long
Then taste rooibos
I like rooibos
It matches the description
So aptly named tea!
I drank this straight up
But imagine creamer rocks
For a dessert blend!
(Haiku review)
rooibos are hit or miss for me. but this one works. the vanilla blends nicely with the rooibos flavor. i sweetened this with cane sugar. a splash of cream would probably be nice as well.
Woody and vanilla aromas were emanating from my communiTEA packet this morning.
I had 3.42 grams of tea, enough for a 13.5 ounce steep. I steeped at the recommended 190°F and pulled the steep at five minutes, when most of the wood chips had fallen.
When hot, mild woody flavors were noted. Vanilla flavors were moderate. I added ⅜ teaspoon of sugar to mask some of the woody flavors and sweeten the vanilla.
When warm, very tasty vanilla flavors were noted. The rooibos did a very good job of providing the base for distributing the vanilla flavors.
Overall tastes were similar to that of a sugar cookie. This one is best when sipped to be able to savor it’s vanilla-ness. It makes a great tea to be added into blends. (5 mins @ 190ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar)
This tea was perfect in the maple rooibos latte that I intended it for. 3 tsp tea leaves to 10 oz of boiling water, with 3 Tbsp maple syrup added post steeping along with 8 oz hot vanilla almond milk. I’m not sure how this tea is alone, but I really enjoy it in my maple rooibos latte… sweet, milky, and delicious!
11/9/2021 — I love this tea and am so excited to have an excuse to drink it this morning as well as my normal nighttime cuppa. I drink it as a latte — 3 tsp rooibos vanilla to 12 oz boiling water, 3 Tbsp maple syrup, and 6 oz hot sweetened vanilla almond milk. So delicious!
Pooibus and me...we never will be.
Your taste will gross me out, eternally!
But since it's probably just me...
I will kindly give my review a three (As my love for Adagio will always run free)!
Delicious, full-bodied, sweet, woodsy rooibos melds really well with the vanilla in this blend. Smooth and lightly aromatic.
Nice vanilla flavor blended with the woodsy herbal taste of rooibos. I added just a bit of cinnamon and sweetened with stevia. So good!
Rooibos, especially the red version, has its weirdness… but it goes pretty well with the vanilla. This tea was good with sweetener and would probably go well with creamer.
Not enough vanilla to cover up the rooibos in todays communiTea sample. Needless to say...I am not a fan of red rooibos...So, this tea is not for me!
Nice vanilla flavor. I added some rooibos honey. I love drinking rooibos during fall, esp since it is helpful with allergies.
A delicious mellow vanilla tea. Nice by itself and would be great in a blend as well. Nice caffeine free tea.
I like blending this with the Roobios chocolate! Mixes well with others when I want to DIY
It's nice and simple. Not too sweet but I love drinking it when I wake up.
A favorite. Robust vanilla without being too sweet
A mellow, soft tea that I drink often before bed. If you need a staple Rooibos tea, this is the one.
This is a great occasional tea - my kids have enjoyed it as a tea party tea (and its caffeine free!) Not my morning tea, but nice in the evenings with a good book!
Update: it has become an evening sweet treat that I enjoy more and more.
A bit strong of a smell of vanilla, but overall nice.
Decent tea, while I did overall find it pleasant I got few notes of vanilla.
This tea has a mellow, sweet flavor. It’s not as sweet as an actual sugar cookie, but it’s just as delightful. @adagioteas
This is good but... it s nothing special. I enjoy it. I will probably use it as a base to create my own blends.
I love rooibos tea, and vanilla can be a hard one to get right in tea blends. I didn't like this one as much as I liked the honeybush hazelnut and the plain rooibois blends--or the fancier rooibois and honeybush blends-- but it's still pretty pleasant-tasting.
This is wonderful by itself or paired with the rooibos caramel
If you like vanilla you will love this tea. Looks a bit like honey in the cup, and is sweet enough to satisfy any sweet tooth.
This is a really great vanilla tea. I enjoyed it both on its own as well as blended with other teas.
Wonderful flavor and will definitely be rebuying for winter!
