I love this so much! I honestly can’t stand red rooibos, to the point that it ruins anything it is out in for me. But this green rooibos tastes exactly like a low to medium quality green tea. It’s great for if I’m craving some green tea at night but don’t want to have the caffeine. I’m sure that this will become a staple for me.

Never tried green rooibos before, but I love red rooibos so I thought I’d try this one. It’s definitely different but for those who don’t like the medicinal taste in rooibos, they’ll love they milder, sweeter rooibos.

I'm rating this ok because this tastes better blended than alone.

This is a lovely tea to start my mornings off, since I can't drink caffeinated teas first thing. It has a mild but clear flavor that carries itself well, and I liked it more than some of the green rooibos mixes.

This is a perfectly good, but mildly flavored, rooibos tea. I prefer it as an add-in to other green teas, actually, such as a nice green chai or the autumn mist green.

I am only rating this ok because this tastes better blended, than alone. So maybe filled in with some black tea to balance the caffeine.

A nice green tea with no worries about caffeine. Goes well with milk.

Fantastic! I wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but this is like a very light green tea. It is a little grassy, a little earthy, and with a medium body. I tend to make it a little on the strong side, and that way it almost reminds me a little of a gunpowder green, or maybe a gyokuro genmaicha. I will be getting more!

Very subtle flavor. I might try brewing it stronger than directions.

This one has really grown on me. I’m still brewing it according to the directions on the package, but I’ve gotten more tuned in to the admittedly subtle taste.

Great. If you need to switch from real tea then this is a great product. It has that grassy straw taste that you find in teas esp white teas without it being overwhelming. I am loving this Rooibos when I want tea but going through a phase when I am prone to heartburn or don't want the caffeine. My parents, who are both in their early 80s, are also enjoying it as they want to cut caffeine from their diets. Also great if you want to add a bit of honey etc. I do like to steep it at a slightly lower temperature.

Very interesting rooibos flavor. If you enjoy regular rooibos and green tea, you will enjoy this

It tastes like a green tea, but rooibos. As the name promises, so it delivers! This tea is delicious. Green teas to me have a fresh, mineral brine note which I find here too. Brighter finish than the regular Adagio rooibos, which I have always found disappointing compared to other brands. I bought a sample. I think now I will buy a pound.

This teabag is my all-day-all-night hydration buddy, and a perfect answer to days when my chronic illness leaves me too tired to do a proper brewing. You don't even need hot water to get a flavor with body that's almost sweet on its own. I drop it in my mug when I get up and just keep topping up with tap-cool water throughout the day, then throw the bag out when it's time to go to bed.

Sometimes you just want a basic, smooth cup of herbal tea. This is it. Delicious!

I have discovered that while I am not a fan of red rooibos, I do enjoy teas that have green rooibos as its base. I think more teas would benefit from having this as their foundation as it adds a nice, non woody depth of flavor without competing with the main ingredients...

If you like the more common red rooibos, this is also worth a try. Smooth, pleasant flavor, and the second brew is good too.

Today's CommuniTEA packet contained plain green rooibos. The aroma was slightly earthy. After trying many green rooibos blends, I've been curious to try the green rooibos on its own. Pressing the VelociTEA's herbal tea button made for an easy steep at 212°F for 7 minutes.

The tisane produced is a light golden color, and the scent is strangely similar to how a steeping Lipton tea bag smells, yet much lighter. The flavor is also light and relatively neutral, which makes sense given the great blends it is capable of playing a part in. There is a light astringency similar to a green tea, yet without any bitterness or tannin flavors. I kept going back for another sip to try and find descriptors for the flavor, but all I could think of was how close it was to a light green tea minus any grassy, brothy, or bitter components. Some may say it's similar to straw or hay, but having never eaten any myself, 😄 I'm only familiar with their scent and I can't say this comes that close.

This one is rather plain when compared to the many excellent and complex green rooibos blends. However, it makes up for that in it's humble simplicity and ability to play so well as a base for other flavors. As a green tea lover, this one is appreciable on it's own and I'd say that I'd prefer the green over the red rooibos when selecting a caffeine free option at night.

I *hate* red rooibos but every time I have green it's always a good time. By itself it's a little fruity and quite sweet but light at the same time. I can definitely say it's good both in blends and on its own.

I do admit I like rooibos tea so this green rooibos is even better than the red. It is especially good in a blend or when you want a caffeine-free drink at night.

Mellow flavors and sweetness make this an easy to drink tea. No bitterness or astringency noted. Nothing to flashy, but that makes this tea very versatile. Add flavored honey or spices from the pantry to kick it up a notch. Great to blend with other teas since none of the flavors are over powering. Great way to have something a little sweet after dinner. There is a natural sweetness that this tea has, but when you add honey, wow! Great liquid dessert. 212° for 5 mins.

Today's CommuniTea packet contained green rooibos from South Africa, and it proved educational. First, rooibos generally has very small pieces, and it's known for easily escaping most infusers and strainers. But my Finum mesh filter was up to the job, and tonight's brew was clear of dancing speckles. Definitely my rooibos go to in the future. Second, I apparently don't dislike all rooibos, just that that's been oxidized, or red rooibos. To me, green rooibos tasted much closer to tea than its rosy sibling. I want to explore some other greens and see if that carries over. (Brewed in 12 ounces of 212°F water for 5 minutes)

I steeped my CommuniTEA packet for nearly 10 minutes. It's oddly almost bitter? Like only the bitter flavor of a tea... but not bitter itself? It's not very woodsy, unlike red rooibos which reminds me of sawdust. Sugar smoothed the flavor but then it didn't really taste like much. I definitely think this belongs in blends. It tastes good in Teaster and I could imagine it pairing well with fruity flavors, but I'm not interested in drinking it on its own again.

Not a fan of red rooibos at all but green is not bad. It’s nice to have an option for a decaf cup or a base for a decaf blend. There’s not much taste, just a touch of sweet woodsy flavor. Would be good blended with fruity additions.

If this green rooibos were a tragic hero, his fatal flaw would be his simplicity. I really enjoyed how straightforward, smooth, and sweet this tea was. I could detect some grass-like notes, or as another reviewer mentioned, hay, but they were pleasant and not overpowering the way they can be in some green teas. Even though I like flavored red rooibos teas (and I specify flavored as I can’t recall ever having plain red rooibos), I found this softer and less harsh than most red rooibos blends. It made for a wonderfully relaxing evening cup. But, I also found myself missing flavor. As pleasant as this cup was, it didn’t retain my interest the way flavored rooibos (sp?) does. Green rooibos’ simplicity led to his downfall, and so he didn’t quite make the five-star mark. (5+ minutes @ 212F)

This tea would benefit strongly with other things in the blend, but on its own it's a little bit lacking compared to a more robust, complicated and traditional tea.

Not being a fan of red rooibos, I was quite hesitant to try the green. This is definitely quite different from the red which I find to have a strong scent and taste. Green rooibos is actually quite bland and a rather plain tasting tea. Glad I gave this CommuniTea sample a try but not something I will put in my basket to purchase.

Smooth and mellow and naturally sweet, when hot, this tea is a pleasant surprise. I never tried a green rooibos plain and really enjoyed the soothing aroma and taste. I think this would be excellent blended with other teas as it is not at all overpowering.

Whereas red rooibos has a strong, unique, woody flavor, green rooibos is lighter & it's flavor is more akin to grassy & straw-like. I like green rooibos in blends, but if I had to pick one to drink plain, I prefer red.

This tea is slightly lemony and very mild. I much prefer green rooibos to red rooibos, but I'm still not that excited by green rooibos. I drank it cold because I thought it tasted nicer that way.

Oh this is LOVELY. While many reviews compare it to green tea, I don’t get any of the grassiness or astringency I get with greens. This is light, sweet, and even better, caffeine free. I would happily wile away an afternoon on my deck with a large teapot of this just for myself!

I honestly didn't taste much from this besides like. Sweet hay, if you've ever smelled freshly bailed hay warmed in the fields. It didn't taste like much of anything. Nothing sweet. Just. Warm hay

The term a hard act to follow really is prudent today. After yesterday's tea any tea today wasn't going to match up, this tea is OK, I definitely enjoy it more then the red roobios which tends to be to medicinal tasting for my liking. This is just kinda boring but great if your looking for a simple single tasting tea.

So, not to be punny or anything but I don’t think this is my cup of tea. There was nothing bad about this tea but nothing especially good either. Mainly just tasted bland to me. (2tsp to 10oz, 5 mins @ 212°F)

I really liked this tea. The flavors were subtle, but there, and searching for them lured me into a state of relaxation, pondering and remembering things to put my finger on what exactly it tasted like. It was very much the flavor of sucking on a honeysuckle stem as a child, or laying on sun warmed grass and resting my head into a little patch of buttercup blossoms and breathing them in. I added a splash of brown sugar oatmilk creamer and that kind of squashed the natural flavor, so I definitely recommend sweetening with honey or something and not so much dairy/dairy alternatives.

This smells pleasantly like hay in the packet, then even more like hay after steeping, so what I was NOT expecting was the flavor of pecans! The sip tastes vegetal on the front half, has a beat of mild nothingness, and then the flavor of pecans on the back end. Is it because I added sugar? I won't be buying this, but it is enjoyable.

I didn't hate it and I didn't love it. It is an oxymoron. Since rooibos means 'red bush,' this tea is green red bush. This is the jumbo shrimp of tea.

It was interesting to try green rooibos on its own because I've only had it in blends previously so didn't know what it tastes like alone. For the red rooibos haters: it tastes nothing like the red, it's a completely different set of flavors. It's a light-bodied tea with vegetal and hay flavors. It's a one-note flavor without complexity. Adding some honey softens the vegetal and hay flavors and rounds out the tea. If you're looking for a simple uncaffeinated tea that has a similar profile to a green tea, this is a good bet.

Green rooibos is nothing like red rooibos at all! This one had a very mild and pleasant taste and it doesn’t linger with an aftertaste like red rooibos does. It’s almost like a green tea but without the grassiness and caffeine.
