A pleasant vanilla tea and a classic to blend with too. Dark oolong tea leaves provide a nice toasty tea base that compliments the warm vanilla flavor so well. The two go together to make a truly soothing cuppa.

My CT packet had 3 g / 2 ¼ tsp of dark tea leaves with a few lighter ones. Steeped 13 oz. at oolong brewing temp. of 195*F for 3:40 min. The caramel colored liquor was delicious with a light sweetener add of agave. Enjoyed a 4 min. resteep of 6 oz. too. I like this tea hot best. It's always a cozy sip.

What it says on the box, a vanilla oolong. Very smooth and goes well with the leaf.

This is a great vanilla tea, especially if you're looking for something with less caffeine than a black tea.

The vanilla seems strongest in this when it is still piping hot, with the oolong flavors becoming more pronounced as it cools. As I am not a huge fan of oolong, and too distractible to drink very hot tea, it isn’t right for me.

The Vanilla Oolong tea is extremely easy going. Great for accompanying breakfast because it has no intrusive flavors or a deep palate to observe. You just kind of drink it without being asked to pay much attention to it. I have a hard time imagining anyone not like this tea (given they drink tea at all), but I also can't imagine this being that special sonething someone pulls out and presents as their favorite tea.

Vanilla oolong can add a little calm to a hectic day, especially appreciated around the holiday season. The vanilla blends beautifully with the oolong base to create a smooth relaxing cuppa.

Great if you like vanilla by itself! I love vanilla as an accent, but just by itself feels a little lackluster to me.

Such a good smell from the bag, like freshly baked cookies! The tea was mild with buttery notes, with a bit of cocoa at the end.

A tasty vanilla tea that tastes good by itself or as a tea latte.

This oolong is earthy, woody, malty, and has some subtle cocoa and vanilla flavors in the background. The woody flavors remind me of charred wood and give it a roasted flavor slightly reminiscent of coffee. A wee bit of honey improves this cup and pulls the vanilla to the front. The 2nd steep is weaker, but enjoyable. I rarely add creamer to tea especially oolongs, but my gut was telling me to try it. The cream made this dessert-like. The vanilla became much more prominent and the cup was so rich and sweet. Steeped 200º for 4 mins. Cheers!

I love oolongs and vanilla in tea. This is a good blend, though I wouldn't be sad for a bit more vanilla

This is a tea I've been meaning to try for a while now, I'm so glad that it popped up in the CommuniTEA! I can't think of an Adagio oolong that I haven't loved, and I find that their vanilla teas are often so warm and comforting that I can't put them down. So it's no shock to me that this is a winner. Oolong is the star here, with vanilla playing a supporting role, and I love it. I think sweetening this one might bring the vanilla flavor forward, but without it, this is still a cup full of comfort that doesn't cross the line into 'dessert tea.' My only regret is that I'm drinking it on a 70-degree day in December, rather than a chilly, snowy one, because this is excellent winter tea.

CommuniTEA Review: The vanilla aroma was very strong when I opened my packet. It brews into a very smooth, mellow tea. I added a few pieces of rock sugar to bring out more of the vanilla and it was rather tasty. The second steep wasn’t as enjoyable. It still smelled of vanilla, but there was no vanilla flavor left.

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: strong earthy vanilla scent (almost coconutty) from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F, I notice a wet toasted/charred wood essence with a whisper of vanilla from my cup. When I take a sip, the earthy, almost coffee-like oolong is more present up front and then replaced by sweet vanilla on the finish. Very good cup! I am sure that the vanilla would be more prominent if I had steeped at a higher temp for longer time, but I am quite happy with this complex oolong nuanced tea with a hint of vanilla as it is. In my opinion, this combination is a little bit unusual, but I enjoy it.

The smell of dried tea leaves and sweet vanilla drifted out of today's packet. A steep at 212°F for 5 minutes produced a medium russet-colored tea.

Smooth and mild vanilla kept this tea solidly in the flavorful mild oolong category. Notes of toasty and malty oolong leaf mingle pleasantly alongside the calming vanilla flavor. As it cooled, more malty and brisk components came forward without ever becoming bitter. A mild astringency lingers but was smoothed out by the vanilla.

What a great flavored oolong blend for an extremely windy and chilly morning.

This tea has lovely vanilla flavor. Other reviews suggested adding a little sugar to blend the flavors a little and I bet that is a really good idea. I will try that with my second steep

On it's own, this tea was ok, but not noteworthy. However, I decided to try out those little half and half individual cups this week and I added one of those to this blend. Night and day. With the half and half added, the vanilla really came to the front and the sip was smooth and oh so very lovely!

Simple but pleasant. The primary flavor in this tea is the oolong, fall leaves, hints of honey and bee polen. The vanilla didn't come threw very strong for me until I added a little cream and sugar but once I did it showed up much stronger.

Oolong and sweet just don't go together for me, I guess. With a little milk and sweetener, I got the flavor of a sugar cookie with a gross aftertaste. Made at 194 degrees for 4 minutes.

This was a perfect tea for me today. Oolong is magical on its own but with the aroma and delicate hint of Vanilla, it is hard to beat. I drink all my teas straight with no sweetener or cream. I also steeped it just as suggested. It is hard to imagine that it can taste any better than it does.

CommuniTEA Sample: Very nice oolong that has a great vanilla flavor. It's more of an amber oolong that is more oxidized and closer to black than green. It does have decent depth and the vanilla adds a nice, soft sweetness to it. A nice tea.

20 Dec 2020 communiTEA review: I knew I was in for a treat when I opened my communiTEA packet this morning. I saw plenty of black oolong leaves and also noted very pleasant vanilla aromas. Since this was a darker oolong, I decided to do a higher temperature steep at 200ºF instead of a lower temperature I would have used for a green oolong or in the middle-colored oolong. I also pulled the steep when most of the leaves had fallen.

When hot, smooth and slightly buttery oolong flavors were noted alongside mild vanilla tastes. I added just a teeny amount of sugar to smooth all flavors together.

When warm, pleasantly toasty oolong flavors came to the foreground with moderately smooth and buttery vanilla flavors right on top! Towards the end, the oolong provided some interesting zings on the tongue with just the proper amount of astringency ... very nice! A second steep was done, but was weak in flavors.

On man, this was a really reflective morning sip! I enjoyed it sitting by the Christmas tree and thinking of how thankful my wife and I are to have survived COVID, and be able to enjoy our morning coffee and tea together for many years to come. Thank you Adagio. (4 mins @ 200ºF, 1/8 tsp sugar)

I can't get oolong
Without vanilla oolong
In my cart it goes!

The fragrance enchants
It plays oolong or stands tall
The flavor delights

So drink it straight up
Or add cream or use to blend
It is a good friend!

Old review: I loved this! I made with vanilla creamer, further pumping up the vanilla experience. Just delightful! I enjoyed it more than the decaf vanilla by far! More smooth and just plain lovely :)

Recommended Steep: 3-5 minutes at 212*F
I love a good vanilla tea, so I looked forward to tasting this one. It seems to be a simple tea with very few ingredients and the potential to be delicious.
Upon opening I was treated to the heavenly aroma of vanilla. It reminded me of vanilla sugar cookies and Christmas baking day. I actually delayed the steeping to enjoy the aroma a while longer.
I steeped for 4 minutes at 212*F I 12 oz of water and sweetened with 1.75 tsp of tea sugar. In the future I might steep it for a little less time or drop the temperature down to 200*F, or maybe even 190*F. There wasn’t a lot of bitterness or astringency in this tea, but I can be sensitive to it, and making these alterations to the steeping could make this tea even more enjoyable. I might also want to try adding a splash of almond milk. I think that might make this tea even more delicious.

A smooth, flavorful fairly oxidized oolong, nicely enhanced by a gentle application of vanilla. The latter was not demanding, rather a pleasant companion to the layered flavor of the Oolong. Steeped 2.5 minutes at 190°.

Nice natural vanilla flavoring. My only complaint is that on oolong's I can usually get at least 4 steeps and with this one the leaves didn't open up as well and I was barely was able to get 3 steeps.

I got this as a simple since I wanted to try something new. At first, I didn't care for it, since it didn't have the buttery, cookie-like flavor I was expecting. In fact, it tasted rather bitter and a bit burnt. It turned out that steeping it at the recommended temperature burned it!

However, testing it at lower temperatures made it taste a lot better. Not quite buttery, but pretty sweet and satisfying with strong vanilla highlights.

I like adding a tiny bit of brown sugar to this to make it taste a little closer to what I was expecting. So, pretty good when made my way.
