My sister and I wanted to try something different and so we bought a random sample of this one because it sounded interesting. It was pretty good if you're looking for a flaor that has more of an herbal taste to it.
Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

i generally dont like greenish teas. but this one is so smooth
This review is purely my PERSONAL PREFERENCE. On an objective level, this tea is great quality: It has the rare beauty of becoming *better* as you brew the leaves multiple times.
It starts out as a very sweet and floral oolong tea, with the sweetness coming from something like licorice. Then It morphs into a full-bodied and bold tea, filled with the earthy flavor found in teas. However, the licorice sweetness is also amplified.
For me, this was overwhelming. I am someone who is extraordinarily sensitive to licorice flavors, barely able to handle even just the smell of someone else's food. If you aren't as bothered by it or even enjoy it, then I HIGHLY recommend this tea, even if you just get it once. The evolution of its flavor is something everyone deserves to experience.
This is the tea I was most excited to have. I love TKY, and this did not disappoint! The way this tea's flavors develop after multiple steeps has me excited for the next cup. I steep it really quickly at a low temperature at first, and I gradually increase time and heat when I go back for cup #2/3/4/5/6. Very happy!
Much greener than I was anticipating and not the best Ti Kuan Yin I've ever had.
This is such a wonderful, rich blend! It's remarkably close to a tea you'd find in Taiwan.
These tea were very good great for morning wake me up or a evening relaxer
This was a nice surprise. This tea is very smooth and full bodied. It has a slight floral and buttery note. I will definitely be ordering this again.
So far, this has been my favorite green tea. It's nice and floral, not grassy. Don't overstep and it will be delicious.
I like this Oolong very much. It has more depth of flavor than the Jade Oolong and seemingly a better kick of caffeine if you're looking for a little pick me up without being obnoxious. It steeps well repeatedly so you get your money's worth from a single teaspoonful. The leaves unfurl completely and will fill your infuser.
An excellent, earthy oolong, one of my very favorites. I'll be keeping this one stocked in my tea cupboard from now on.
Great fresh-tasting (nearly) green tea. Tolerates lots of re-steeping.
This is a nice tea, but lacks somewhat in character. I've had Ti Kuan Yin before that I liked better. It's still very nice.
This is a high quality oolong tea that is well-rolled with very few broken leaves and no stems. The wet leaves and brew smell strongly - and pleasantly - of collar greens, spinach, and wet hay with a matching taste. There's a prominent - yet not overpowering - minerality and astringency, particularly in second and third brews, and this tea holds up quite well to multiple steepings.
I love drinking this tea. I drink it 1st thing in the morning.
Although in really like this tea and find the taste very congenial to my palate preference I received what appeared to be the bottom of the barrel of the supply. There was a lot of broken leaves.
Its a good tea, not a strong flavor. I like to mix it with the Lemon Soliel black tea
I don't know what to think of this one. It's quite close to a green tea but with a more pleasant lemon like sourness without being too dry. However, it's missing something, like it doesn't have that floral freshness I expected.
Brewed at 300 milliliter of 200F water on 15 grams of tea with infusions consisting of 30 seconds and adding 5 seconds after the first infusion.
Wonderful flavor and aroma even after three brews, very green and comforting to us. Will re-order for sure. I time by eye and nose, so I'm not sure about minutes. I pour the water just as it begins to bubble which is below the boiling point.
Rich, savory, and a nice herbal kick. It tastes a lot better than it smells. It also tastes best while it's still hot, because it became a little dull as it cooled.
Very fresh tasting. I only steep for about 3 minutes else it starts to get somewhat bitter to me. But the leaves can be steeped multiple times.
Very soft hints of smoke and flavors are bold but light
This has been my every day tea for years and is a classic-can't go wrong.
My absolute go-to. Blends great with gunpowder green and a jasmine green (I like the Green Dragon Pearls with this), but is wonderful on its own.
OK - it's a solid Oolong. Didn't wow me as much as expected. Fully flavor compared to the milk oolong I tried, but somehow misses the mark.
An exceptional oolong... its the same, if not a bit better then the Monkey Picked Oolong from Teavana. I am very happy with it.
One of my absolute favorite adagio teas, and I'm still tweaking how I brew to do this (and the re-steeps) justice.
slightly above average quality. got what i paid for. nice to have a place that sells oolongs at a working-man's price point
This is one of my favorites. I love it. I also like to make Ice Tea with it. I also get two servings out of it. I highly recommend this tea. It seems to be a very gentle tea in taste.
Brewed this tea using gong fu style, 6-6.5 grams / 100 ml @ 212 F for 25 seconds, the subsequent infusions are only steeped for 5-10 seconds. The resulting liquor is bright and smooth, the 2nd steep reveals sharper vegetal flavors and the third mellows into a buttery sip--the mouthfeel is very slightly astringent, a complex and unique tea. Perfect for before and after a meal, or as an afternoon sip.
Just the most wonderfully delicate, sublime, and uplifting leafy flavors. A thicker mouthfeel than some other green teas, and great for multiple steepings as the leaves uncurl and release their flavor in increasingly floral notes. My go-to after a long, hard day. Beware: Anything more than 180 degrees or 2 minutes just turns this into a pretty humdrum, ordinary green tea. But a short, low-temperature steep is great.
A lovely, naturally sweet oolong tea that pulls to the lighter side of the spectrum. The liquor is a delicate, pale yellow, and the taste lingers with just a little bit of sweetness mixed in with grassy earth notes. When I want *almost* green tea, I go for this one.
Great fragrance! I am used to abit stronger flavor, but this is a fair strength
This is without a doubt the best oolong I have ever tried. Heavenly floral aroma, with an equally fantastic green profile and slightly sweet floral flavor, that goes in smooth and goes down smooth. I love everything about this!
Ti Kuan Yin is one of my absolute favorite teas. However, I have a hard time getting a good flavor out of this one -- not sure why. It s still decent, though.
Very good. This is better than most of the Ti Kuan Yins that I have tried.
Reminded me a bit of a stronger, more floral version of the white snowbud tea. I love the clean, refreshing mineral taste. Personally I'm not too big on the strong floral aftertaste.
Great oolong! Complex nutty mineral flavors. Love it.
This was an excellent tea that tastes exactly like I imagine a robot would like it
Green tea meets white tea while having a mineral bath. A really light but pronounced flavor that makes me think I'm having the fanciest dinner at a high-end restaurant that books up months in advance. I've ordered Ti Kuan Yin for years and it remains a favorite.
A good, strong oolong, but still only second best to Jade. Comparing the 2 I would say this is just a slightly less powerful brew
This tea brews up pretty much as the description says it will. The very pale green liquor tastes of mineral and collard green with very subtle hints of walnut. Astringency develops as you sip, but it is quite mild and there s no bitterness at all. The scent is somewhat floral but mostly vegetal. Over all a very smooth, light-bodied tea. If you like green teas, you ll probably like this. This is probably a very good tea, just not one of my favorites (I am not much of a green tea fan) hence the ok rating.
Wonderful and delicate - probably my favorite out of the oolongs I've tried so far!
This is a really nice tea, which I truly enjoy.
Truly regal tea. Good for having friends over who enjoy green teas.
Very acceptable oolong tea. This is to be preferred over the jade oolong.
I personally prefer Ti Kuan Yin to have a stronger note of orchid. (As Adagio points out, the orchid note is light here.) However, this is a very pleasant tea to drink and resteep. Take your time with each sip to enjoy the changes. You will continue to feel the finish dancing in your mouth for quite a while.
One of my favourites for a long time. A choice and cost effective quality and flavour.
I like it, and I reuse it, 3 times total. That should be factored into the cost!
I loved this tea! had a bright citrusy flavor, and it's perfect for waking up in the morning.
