not enough toasted walnut, it's not a bad oolong though
Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

not enough toasted walnut, it's not a bad oolong though
I loved this tea. It had a smooth taste with no bitternest.
More of a green, herbaceous Ti Kuan Yin than a golden one. Good for multiple steeps, allowing for the flavors to develop.
I m a bit surprised at how light this tea is and perhaps I have to give it a few more tries. I brewed it initially at 195 for 4 minutes and it was almost clear in color and the taste was very light, even though I put enough tea in the filter. It s a smooth taste, but it s weak.
The second time I brewed it, I added more tea than recommended and brewed it at a higher temperature. Same outcome.
I ll try this one again and will brew it for 6 or 7 minutes to see if that changes anything. The taste is nice, but seems light for an oolong. I ve only had one other type of Ti Kuan Yin and it was very different from this.
Ti Kuan Yin has always been my favorite, and I was very satisfied with Adagio's Ti Kuan Yin. The tea came out with great aroma and strength even on the 3rd steep. I will definitely order more when I finish this batch.
Overall good, but weaker than I would have liked.
Smooth and delicious. Floral notes lend well to an iced tea as well.
Ti Kuan Yin teas quality and price varies all over the map. In my experience if you are paying less than 35 dollars/pound you probably are getting a very inferior tea. Above 75 dollars/pound you'd better be sure you have experience with the seller or you might very well be over paying. Adagio's offering in this space is very good and a reasonably good value. It tends to be one of the 'greener' TKY but lacks the some of the floral nuances of the really high end tea. As Adagio is a reputable dealer, I would re-order this without hesitation. If, on the other hand, I was inclined to bargain shop, I suspect I can find a similar quality TQY at a slightly lower price point.
Fantastic tea with a nice rustic taste. I brewed for about 6 1/2 minutes at 212. One of my new favorite Oolong teas. It really is hard to describe it, but it tastes kind of smokey.
Really love this tea, very grassy/ vegetal with a bit of nutiness.
It can be steeped about 3 times and it only gets better.
very good floral oolong tea good for multiple steepings to bring out all the glorious flavors!
Not as full flavored to me, as the Jade Oolong which I've been enjoying. Nice light and smooth flavor, no bitterness.
Really like this tea. I ordered 5 different ti khan yins from 5 different sources, this is the winner, except for maybe the fujian ti kuan yin (also from adagio) - but the fujian is a totally different taste, so very hard to compare. I have already reordered!
This is a light, smooth, floral, sweet subtle tea. It makes a delicate cup yet perfect for those who have sensitive palettes
This one was a little too 'vegetal' for me, but the leaves unfold nicely
My new favorite tea. Steeped 3 teaspoons for one quart using Breville tea maker at 195F for 3 minutes. Lovely floral and fruity tones, very light yellow color. subsequent steepings more buttery flavor emerges. good for at least 3 steepings of 3 minutes each. I bought 3 oz bag the first time--will go for the large bag with my next order!
Pretty tasteful and great tea. It differs from ti kuan yin I tasted before, but it is still same taste and aroma
This is a full bodied but nuanced oolong. It smells absolutely amazing as it's brewing and tastes even better. One of my all time favs.
Brewed more like a green tea. Floral, herbal, tastes like summer
One of my favorite hot teas: stands up to multiple infusions while remaining smooth. Probably lighter than most are used to from an oolong but don't let the color fool you, 2 to 3 minutes is all you need.
This is a pretty good ti kuan yin. Not my favorite, but my fiance loves it and drinks it every morning. Also rebrews well.
This is a mellow oolong. Best for when you want a lite tasting cup. If you make a strong cup it gets a little earthy.
This tea reminds me of a green crossed with an Oolong. It's light and grassy and my favorite Oolong of all that I've tried.
This is my favorite oolong tea. Floral, flavorful and astringent. I tend to always have some of this on hand.
A super floral and refreshing oolong. I can usually get at least 5 steeps out of each teaspoon, making it well worth the money.
Good for about 2 infusions before getting weak. The flavor is really crisp, almost bordering on a green/oolong flavor.
This and ali shan are my go-to light oolongs. The main difference from the masters version is more breakage in the leaf knots. This ti kuan yin still has the same juicy fruit flavor. It's a pleasure hot or cold and forgiving if oversteeped.
A solid oolong and my go-to tea for waking up. The aroma is amazing!
This is truly one of the greatest Oolong teas on the market. If you consider the fact that it isn't a couple hundred dollars per two ounces, then you would have to probably categorize this as the best Oolong tea on the market.
I'm a fan of this blend, which I ordered as a substitute when the Oolong Goddess was not available. It's a good loose-tea alternative to the Oolong Goddess bags, taste very similar (maybe identical).
This is a good oolong, but not great. I love the greener side of oolongs most notably for their fresh floral scent and flavor, which this has a bit of but not as much as I was expecting, so for the price I would not buy this tea again as I could get a similar quality oolong for half the price.
A very pleasant and smooth TKY that develops nicely over 4 (or more) steepings. The sweet orchid aroma comes in strong off the wet leaf, and the cup itself tastes of rich greens and a mineral leafiness which gives way to that well known TKY buttery finish.
I recommend giving this tea the Gong Fu Cha treatment in a Gaiwan for best results. (60,20,50, then 120 sec. infusions worked for me)
As with all gifts one needs to approach them without force, simply attending to them with gratitude and presence. The gift of this goddess is no exception and requires us to give thanks, aware of its great subtlety and almost mystic qualities. Fully conscious to this cup, one is immediately presented with a bright, pleasant feeling of astringency that eventually gives way to a soft, buttery texture. It's at this time that flavors begin to make themselves know: notes of banana and caramelized walnut. The finish contains a paradoxical combination of botanical fragrance and chalky mouthfeel. This reconciliation of supposed opposites embodies the compassion that Guanyin represents. Therefore, drinking this gift often can be seen as a practice on the path toward each of us becoming a bodhisattva. It is for this reason that I have dedicated a yixing teapot to this Iron Goddess of Mercy.
An amazing tea, by far my favorite tea I have tried from Adagio. Goes great plain or with Asian food.
I've never had a light oolong that tasted so toasty! The color was darker than I expected, too. The flavor, however, was AMAZING.
I will admit that I am not a green tea person. I will be up front and honest.. But this was horrid. Basically clear grassy water. No flavor other than grass!
This incredibly delicious Ti Kuan Yin is lovingly grown and prepared - you can taste it! I love this tea and am happy that I have turned on my co-workers to it as well. We all love it now!
A smooth, refreshing tea with a nutty and floral taste and fragrance.
I have to be in the proper mood to drink this, but when I am it's nice. Very vegetal, and rebrews well.
Great oolong, I re-steep it up to 3 times and it definitely makes for a smooth great oolong.
Really enjoying this tea--had a pot this morning. Curious to see how it double brews.
Sweet and perfumey, but a little lighter than I expected, I may try brewing it longer next time. Still delicious and I would definitely buy again.
I love this floral tea with mineral notes. Mineral notes are my jam.
A really good oolong tea that is smooth to drink and flavorful
My favorite oolong -- wonderfully bright, fresh, floral and mildly stringent flavor, with a fabulous aftertaste.
Great tea very flavorful. Might be my favorite tea
Mmm, there's no better way to start the day than with a delicious cup of Ti Kuan Yin. I've always been partial to this tea myself, but this is the first time I've tried Adagio's and it definitely doesn't disappoint! This tea is soft with a natural, light sweetness. It reminds me of snap peas and Springtime. There's a hint of floral notes that lingers on the palate, and the finish is clean. I bet this tea re-steeps well! Definitely my favorite go-to oolong on the greener end of the oolong spectrum.
This tea was actually boring. The first time I brewed it, I followed the directions. It came out as pale green-yellow water, no flavor. Second time, I brewed it like a black tea, and while there was now a flavor, it wasn't worth the cost, to me.
This is one of my go to teas, like the taste and how I can brew the leaves several times and it keeps giving you a more mellow taste. Worth the price per cup.
