Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

One of my favorite oolongs that Adagio sells. Its great when i'm in the mood for something more floral. Holds up well through multiple steepings.

★★★★★

I love this oolong. I was sent a sample of it by adagio once, and immediately fell in love. Light, floral taste which I adore and it gets better with every infusion. I was given the most beautiful little clay pot for the holidays and I knew right away I wanted to season it with this.

★★★★★

Such a wonderful oolong. Not super strong, but very sweet and light in a playful way.

★★★★☆

A wonderful oolong and I like oolong! I highly recommend it.

★★★★★

one of the best teas I have ever had...I gotta say the boquet and taste are remarkable

★★★★★

I love this tea! I was gifted a really nice set of premium Oolong tea from China, and I tried all kinds to try to match it, and this is the ONLY one that came close. It's delicious! It's light floral forward tea with complex flavor. Highly recommend.

This is currently my favorite tea (predecessors include wuyi ensemble and fujian rain). The flavor is hard to describe. The feeling is calming, but in an energizing sort of way.

★★★★☆

This is a nice, standard, oolong tea. I've only drank it once so far, but i liked it.

★★★★☆

This tea is fairly similar to the Fujian ti kuan yin, but maybe not quite as full tasting. The tea was light and floral with a nice texture. A decent substitute if you don't want to spring for the Fujian ti kuan yin

My first oolong, but I'll try and be thorough. Very grassy vegetal flavor at first, but it goes away on subsequent steepings. There's something... sweet about it? A phantom flavor. Recommended for: the hip, the cool, and the jivin'. lovers of spinach. your uncle Bruce.

In my opinion Adagio's version of Iron Goddess is much greener than the typical Iron Goddess tea you will find in most tea shops. I'm used to Ti Kuan Yin being a bit more oxidized than this version. This is still a very good green oolong, but not what I was expecting. As far as green oolongs go, I prefer Jade oolong as an every day tea due to the lower price.

★★★★☆

It was very good oolong. It had a little of an earthy taste that I think it would have been better without.

★★★★☆

This tea has a strong collard green flavor to me. Not sure how much I actually like it, which is surprising considering all the great things I hear about it.

★★★★☆

This oolong has a strong scent, but a more mild, distinctly oolong taste. It's definitely a nice choice, but I'm not so sure that there is anything particularly notable about it.

★★★★★

Very light. I tend to prefer stronger flavors, but I'm not gonna knock it for that. It's a great tea, a lot of complexity.

★★★☆☆

The taste of this reminded me of juniper. I think it's kind of bitter with a strong aftertaste. A bit of honey made it a lot more palatable for me, but I don't think I'll buy this one again.

★★★★★

I love it! It is not very strong though, but that may be because too much water.

★★★★★

This is a phenomenal oolong. It smells and tastes of clover, without being oversweet or too grassy. This is a wonderful standalone tea.

★★★★☆

Pleasant smell, but I suppose I am spoiled by ali shan. This tea just doesn't compare.

★★★★★

Might be the best ti kuan yin I've had yet. Steep after steep, it is fantastic! Strongly recommend.

★★★★★

This might be my favorite tea of all time. Pricey, but worth it.

★★★★★

I tried this tea on the suggestion of one of my favorite authors. It's very smooth, and as a bonus, almost impossible to ruin - I let it steep for about ten minutes accidentally, and it wasn't at all bitter.

★★★★★

I have never tried ti kuan yin before and I have to say that I really liked it. It tasted almost like a green tea--but with a sweetness that was not caused by sweetener (I know because I didn't add any). A great tea to add to my rotation.

★★★★★

Extremely smooth, flavorful oolong, with a light, almost fruity taste. I will definitely buy this again.

New to oolong. Its smells much different then I was expecting. Hard to describe. My first impression wasn't good. The liqure was a deep yellow and smelled kind of like spinich.as I drank my second cup I set down my mug and instantly wanted more. Its a strange flavor for a black tea drinker such as myself but it was good as you drank more. Left the mouth a little dry but not too bad. Overall it's the middle of the day and I'm craving more. Not sure how it compares to other Oolongs but I enjoy this tea

★★★★★

A bit pricey, but truly worth it to try. Subtle root flavor.

★★★★★

Excellent oolong. Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, as it is an excellent tea to steep again and again.

★★★★★

I love the soft buttery taste of ti kuan yin. This is my favorite light oolong go-to tea.

★★★★★

It has a very fresh taste, almost like I've just taken a bite of fruit. The slight taste of bitter gives it a bit of a bite that I enjoy.

★★★★★

This was recommended by a staff person at Old Orchard in Chicago. We love it! Perfect for a chilly fall day! It is delicious!

★★★★☆

Now THIS is a good Green Tea. Will end up ordering more.

★★★★☆

one my favorite , good iced or hot. delicate, good for oolong

★★★★★

Ti Kuan Yin is always good! I have not been disappointed yet. Flavor-wise, T.K.Y. reminds me of buttered toast topped with slivered almonds. Clean and simple, comforting and warming.. Yes, this is one of my all-time favorites.

★★★★★

I really love this tea, and will definitely order a full portion after my sample is exhausted. Incredibly floral bouquet with a smooth slightly sweet flavor. A nice complement to oolongs like Ali Shan which I feel are a bit fruitier in both aroma and flavor. Interestingly, the brewed leaves have a slight disulfide (e.g. hair salon) aroma (just an observation--not a criticism), but it never makes it into the actual tea.

This bordered on 3-4 stars. I think I over steeped it the first time, so I'll have to try it again.

★★★★★

A top quality green tea. Expensive, but worth it!

★★★★★

Very good oolong tea. In my personal opinion I think this is better than the ali shan, but I seem to be the minority.

★★★★☆

Nice light floral notes. When steeping this tea smells like a jasmine green, but only a little jasmine comes through in the final tea, mixed with other flowers like orchid. I believe that this is identical to Teavana's Monkey Picked Oolong, though at a much more reasonable price.

I got this for myself and love the comfort from the collard greens and walnuts

★★★★★

Mmmmm this tea is good. A little lighter than more oxidized oolongs but with nice flavor. It's also good for multiple steepings which is a bonus. I love to watch the leaves unfold more with each cup. :)

★★★★★

Authentic taste, elegant shape and delicate fragrance!

★★★★★

Really lovely oolong--not too bitter--perfect intro to oolongs, IMHO.

This is our new family favorite! I was a little sad to learn that it is considered a 'seasonal' tea - but was happy when the Team Adagio Naperville found a one pound bag and were willing to weigh it out for me to a 3 oz bag!

One of our favorite things about this tea is that with each re-steeping (we try to get 6 - 8) a new flavor is discovered that we didn't catch the cup before. We're moving out of state soon - and are so thankful we will be able to get our ti kuan yin fix thru the mail!

light, very nice and slightly complex, it does leave a little to be desired in complexity, however the amber liquor does successfully mimic a light Dan Cong

★★★☆☆

This one tastes more like a Formosa type than a Ti Kuan Yin to me: very light and floral, none of the honey-like characteristics you would expect. Not bad, just not what I was expecting.

★★★★★

Mmmmm my favorite oolong. It is very smooth and slightly nutty. Just make sure you brew it correctly or it can become bitter.

it's...good! Doesn't either blow me away or underwhelm me.

★★★★★

Just wonderful, probably my favorite of all the oolongs. If you've tasted monkey picked oolong, this is very similar but better in my opinion.

★★☆☆☆

Very light in the taste department. Almost like drinking flavored water. It has a good flavor but there's not a lot of it.

★★★★★

I bought this hoping that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and the master's collection version. Alas, I can. That has a rounder mouth feel and is more complex, but this is a lovely tea nevertheless. Very floral, and more like a green than an oolong. The smell alone is worth it, and it gets sweeter as it cools. It smells a lot like a jasmine, but I believe has a much more gentle taste. Definitely not one to abuse with the water temp or steeping time, I advise a low average for both, and you'll get several steeps.
