Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

Love this. My favorite oolong. First introduced to this tea during my travels in China. If you love oolongs, you'll love this one. Full bodied and smooth. I brew longer at slightly lower temperature of 180. Also can take a second infusion, but not as good for a third infusion.

Balanced, light and very high quality. You must try.

TKY is my all time favorite tea and there is a wonderful story behind it how it got its name. Another great thing about Oolongs it they do not stain your teeth like the black teas do

★★★★☆

very good tea, but not as strong as I've expected.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorites. It is a smooth delicate tea I have it every afternoon

★★★★☆

Not a bad tea, but a bit too veggie for my tastes.

I just discovered this tea and already am a big fan. Like a good orchestral piece, it is nicely textured with pleasing low tones as well as a delicately sweet upper layer. Although I know this would not be everyone's choice, I also find it mixes nicely with ginger and turmeric for added health benefits.

Surprised that I like this tea
low alkaline
I used a touch of honey

★★★★★

My absolute favorite oolong, and I love it enough to have dedicated a yixing teapot to it! Smooth and flavorful, and also very inexpensive compared to other retailers of the blend.

As far as oolong goes, I found what I'll be stocking. This is the kind of tea to drink cup after cut while working on something engaging. Well worth the price.

★★★★★

This tea was great! I will get it again for sure!!

★★★★☆

Gentle and a little leathery. Very mellow. a note of brightness.

A very nice Oolong. The website description is pretty accurate as far as taste goes. I would add that every 5-7 sips I get a very pleasant sweetness on my tongue. Could be just me, but a wonderful tea all the same.

I bought an entire bag of this tea by accident. I didn't want to be *that* person that sent something back due to their own error. So, I gave it a try. It's an interesting tea. I think the description of it being 'meditative' is a bit much, but it's interesting. The smell would make you believe it's along the lines of a hibiscus, but it's totally not. I don't get the 'collard green' notes in it, but it's tasty.

★★★★☆

Not truly an oolong, Ti Kuan Yins offer a delightful change of pace that almost feels like its own category, as distinctive as gunpowder, jasmine or pu erh. Adagio offers an excellent example in this product, and lately I've been going through it at an alarming pace.

★★★★★

A friend of mine let me try this the other day and I was hooked. Incredibly smooth and almost milky/creamy aftertaste (as others have described). This is a great tea if you're looking for something like a green that is not as overpowering or dense as others. Definitely a prime 'relaxation' tea.

I'm not medicinal expert, but I've got the flu right now and this tea makes me feel better. It's gentle, comforting and gave me a little boost of energy. I like the fragrance, which I would describe as slightly floral, but not overpowering or perfumy. The flavor is rich and full and smooth. It's good for two brews, too, which is nice. Years ago, a student of mine shared some tea from his home in China when I was sick, and I've tried to match it ever since. I think this is the closest I've found. This might be my favorite cup. Sometimes I mix my matcha in this one too- but I have to let it cool down first.

really high quality flavor for the price. highly recommend for a buttery smooth oolong

★★★★★

A really great tea that has a great taste. Highly recommended.

★★★★★

This tea is very floral not quite as floral as jasmine. It is a good balance between floral and musky.

★★☆☆☆

Ti guan yin is my favorite tea. I admit I compared this to a very high-end tea from a different company, so this one was put on the do-not-buy-again list.

★★★★★

This is a very light, vegetal and floral green oolong tea. It has a very subtle mineral taste but mostly tastes of sweet veggies. It's very good and the leaves hold up to multiple infusions. I probably won't reorder because I prefer brown oolongs, but this is a very soothing and refreshing cup.

★★★★★

Amazing green tea. This tea is almost creamy in texture and the floral notes are fantastic. The natural sweetness really stands out as well

★★★★★

This is my first time with Oolong and I loved it. It is everything what it says too be. This tea is surprising light with pleasant floral aroma and smooth and sweet on your mouth . Not very complex but complex enough to leave your mouth with light smooth and sweet taste to return for the next cup.

Would definitely recommend it.

Oh man, this stuff is like nectar. I've only recently started exploring oolongs, and am blown away by this one. Light, sweet and uplifting.

★★★★★

This is a great tea for any time of day. It is light and refreshing! I found this to be one I reallmenjoyed.

★★★★★

Incredible tea! At first it has aromas like a green tea but the taste is a bit more complex. A soft finish leads to a great aftertaste.

★★★★★

This tea grows on me more with every cup. It's aromatic with a taste to match.

★★★★★

This tea is so smooth and it's almost naturally creamy. Awesome for any time of day - light but with a bit of caffeine to give a mild boost.

I've used this mixed with keemun concerto and lapsang souchong to make my own Russian Caravan blend. It may be nothing like Russian Caravan, but I like it. I'd only read about the Russian Caravan tea so I only know about it that way. It works well with the other teas I think and I enjoy drinking my blend. I've never tried it by itself.

A great example of the style of tea. I love blending it into my caravan tea.

★★★☆☆

This tea was OK. I got the small packet to try. It wasn't my favorite as olongs go. I am going to try some different brewing times.

★★★★★

great tea, great test. Love it!!! One of my favorite

★★★★★

I'm usually not a fan of oolong tea, but I love this tea. I drink it almost everyday. It is great for an upset stomach.

★★★★★

My favorite oolong, good anytime of day. Good aroma

★★★★★

Waited so long for this to come in. A very distinct aroma and taste. So glad I got a large bag in.

★★★★★

Fabulous mellow, soothing tea. I absolutely LOVE this tea and it is my new 'go to'!

★★★★★

I came back around to oolongs after a long stint on Japanese greens. This oolong is the duskier, richer versions of those. still green, but with the same richer notes I enjoy in jasmine pearls.

Wonderful tea with a full but not overpowering flavor. I drink it every morning at work.

★★★★☆

Oolong with light green taste...has become a favorite of mine. Perfect morning sipping.

★★★★★

Very light, refreshing, smooth oolong. First tea I truly loved without any sweeteners, and first tea to convince me to branch away from Jasmine with its floral softness.

This variety has always been my favorite oolong. I use a little more than the suggested amount, because I have large teacups and felt it was a little weak using only 1 tsp.

★★★★★

I love the flavor and color. Multiple infusion is a definite plus.

★★★★★

Very light, one of the smoothest Oolongs I've ever tried, no bitterness at all. Great after lunch or mid-morning.

★★★★★

I love this oolong, much more than the twilight version. It is more buttery and floral. Less smoky and roasted. Would highly recommend Adagio's version of this tea because of their high quality and freshness. A go to to brighten your day, anytime, without fail.

This has grown to become one of my favorite teas. A small spoon of sugar, and the natural sweetness is amplified. Tastes great cooled as well!

★★★★☆

To be honest, it tasted exactly as I expected it to, but it wasn't truly memorable. Still, definitely worth keeping in the rotation.

★★★★★

tried as a sample and liked it so much bought more

★★★★★

very tasty. You can taste the collard greens which really brings out the flavor.
