Fujian Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Extremely time-consuming to produce (well over a dozen distinct steps). This loosely rolled, lightly oxidized tea yields a pale golden cup with a soft, buttery texture and orchid and honeydew melon notes.

This Oolong is very pleasant. The better word to describe it's flavor would be perhaps nonintrusive. It makes you hurry to make another cup after finishing the first cup. And you just want to keep it in your mouth forever without swallowing. It is a true master's creation.

This is one of my daughter's favorites as well as mine.

This green tea is so buttery and smooth, you can taste the sweet floral notes and I had absolutely no bitterness. I would highly recommend this tea for any lovers of green tea and it is a great introduction to the Masters selection if you are looking to venture.

A quality oolong with a simple and classic flavor. A nice starter if you're looking at higher end loose tea.

Not seeing this on other reviews but I get a bit of the Wuyi-type mineral flavor on this one. A good oolong and worth picking up if you're into that, just not exactly up my alley, although thoroughly enjoyable.

I cannot say enough good things about this tea. I love it and feel that the price was well worth it.

★★★★★

Excellent oolong tea. I love this one! I steep it for about 5 minutes for perfect flavor.

★★★★★

I was introduced to ti kuanyin by a Chinese coworker who let me sample her very high-quality tea from China. Since then, I've tried others, and this is the best one I have found. The leaves are remarkably large and whole. It has the pleasant astringency of a green tea plus a delightful fragrance. It brews well on a second brewing, too, though I tend not to like rebrewing tea leaves.

★★★★★

Well worth the price! I first tried it at a friend's house and knew from the first sip that I needed my own sample tin. It's absolutely delicious and utterly perfect and pretty much defies description.

★★★★★

Another old standby.. Light, yet flavorful.. Fragrant aroma..

★★★★★

I am so glad Adagio came out with the Master's collection of their teas because they are fantastic! I've been a fan of Ti Kuan Yin for a while, and this stuff makes that seem almost bad in comparison. It's so much lighter, but with a more complex flavor than the typical Ti Kuan Yin. Added bonus that you can steep it about eight times, and you've got yourself an awesome product. Be sure to rinse this oolong for one minute before use, or else you'll get a really weird cup of tea with the first steeping.

simply delicious. this tea is really lovely, especially in the morning.

★★★★★

This tea is absolutely delicious. The flavor had such depth, even with only a 3 minute brew time. I think it's impossible to go wrong with this tea - absolutely spectacular.

My first exposure to Adagio Teas Masters was Formosa Ali Shan. It quickly became my 'go-to' Chinese tea. I could not imagine that another tea could surpass it. Well, imagine it! Fujian Ti Kuan Yin lives up to its description and must truly be experienced to understand why it rates a rave distinction. Soft and smooth with a clean taste on the palate, it offers up a vivacious blend of herbaceous and floral tones. As advertised, it becomes 'sweet' as an aftertaste while cooling. Go ahead with the sample before breaking the bank, but I am sure that you will want to come back to this tea. I have tasted none finer in over forty-one years of tasting experience.

One of the best Oolongs I have ever had great taste and aroma

★★★★★

The flavor is smoother than the cheaper version, a little more on the buttery side and slightly less floral.

a hearty cup! Good in the morning. Very good iced.

Oh, This tea. I don't know what to say about this tea. It's perfect. Though, it is worth every bit of money that it costs.

It was not as good as I was hoping but not bad. Light golden color with subtle notes of honeysuckle that has a bit of sweetness as you resteep.

Wow! What a wonderful tea. One of the best I have had from Adagio.

★★★★★

My most favorite oolong tea. Smooth taste, smooth finish.

★★★★★

Fantastic tea for all hours, becoming a regular for me.

★★★★★

Love this tea. It was my favorite (until I tried the Formosa Pouchong - now that is my favorite). Good for 3 steeps (185, 195, 195 is what I usually do).

★★★★★

I love the tin! The prettiest one in the masters series. The tea is a bit green for a traditional ti kuan yin, but it is still very tasty if you enjoy green oolongs, and I do.

Great flavor and has the ability to get multiple infusions.

★★★★★

This is the third tea I have tried from the Masters Collection and all of them are excellent. Fujian ti kuan yin is one of my favorite teas from Adagio.

This tea is a fantastic oolong! However, for the price, my personal preference of the master oolong teas is Formosa Ali Shan.

★★★★★

This was a very NICE oolong. I enjoyed the buttery taste and hint of floral. Seeped well and kept its flavor three times.

This is really great. However I find that it is better for special occasions.

★★★★★

A big favorite of my husband! He loves the 'smooth taste!'.

★★★★★

This tea is very fragrant while brewing and, inspite of it being an oolong, it reminds me a lot of a white tea. It's a very light, almost sweet, floral-tasting tea. Other people have said 'orchid' but since I grew up in the Southern US, it tastes like honeysuckle nectar to me. This stands up well for at least three brewings but don't oversteep as some of the delicate top notes vanish.

I'm so glad I sprang for this 'master' level tea. It's delicious, and the best part is that it tastes wonderful through multiple steepings, so you really do get your money's worth.

★★★★★

Fantastic tea. I don't drink black teas as they are too strong so I prefer oolong teas. This is now my favoriate oolong tea and definitely worth the price. I am also able to get several steepings...each one highlighting a different aspect/flavor than before...each one very enjoyable and relaxing. I drink this in the morning and/or afternoon.

This is a nice ti kuan yin. it tastes best on the second steep. Somehow I like the regular ti kuan yin better, but this is still really lovely tea.

★★★☆☆

For the price of this tea, I was very disappointed in its flavor. It does not have the light, flowery overtones that I am used to when I drink ti kuan yin given to me by Chinese friends.

very poor quality, I had this tea in the past from another supplier and the quality is different

★★★★★

I'm a huge fan of ti kuan yins, and I was curious about this one for the longest time. Having tried the other ti kuan yin, I was looking forward to this since I really love the less pricey version but I'll admit: this one blew me out of the water. I really love how it tastes when I do a short infusion and it only gets better each infusion. Definitely will enjoy down to the bottom of the tin.

This is a lovely Ti Kuan Yin. One of my favorite oolongs, I find sometimes this tea can taste bitter or dusty, almost as if I'm getting an old batch. I have ordered this tea from Adagio several times, and each time it is fresh, fragrant, with a lovely aroma. The taste is a happy blend of grassy and earthy, with a hint of smoky undertones. I think it makes a perfect afternoon blend, when I am tired or stressed out, but don't want to drink a black tea for fear of not being able to get to sleep at night.

On a scale of 'awful' to 'great' this tea overshoots great all the way beyond the words of any language I know. It's very light and refreshing but also fairly buttery. Very smooth with a complex and ever changing flavor, I honestly cannot describe quite how good this tea is, you have to try it for yourself.

This has now become my favorite tea. Absolutely great flavor!

★★★★★

This smells like an early summer garden after a rain. It tastes like milk and honey were added, though none were. It becomes more floral and less creamy on subsequent steeps. I can easily believe the folklore surrounding this tea.

★★★★★

Wonderful oolong that develops as you experience different brew times. Worth the extra money.

★★★★★

Starts out very earthy but as it cools the tea takes on some sweet floral tones and the earthiness disappears.

There are no words to describe my love for this tea. This is masters at its best

★★★★★

My first of the masters teas. The tea has a very pleasant floral smell to it. Holds up excellently in multiple infusions. Takes on an interesting buttery flavor around the third infusion for me. Hardly any bitterness at all and has a smooth mouthfeel. Highly recommended if you've got the cash. It is pricy, but the multiple infusions help make up for that.

This was quite nice- slightly floral, slightly sweet. The main flavor notes for me were a vague baked goods taste, a mineral tang, and a dry parchment note without being astringent. I liked this a lot and would purchase again.

Very light and buttery. Best I've had from adagio so far. Definitely will purchase again.

Grassy notes with some leather at the finish, plus something I can't quite tease out. This is a smooth-textured, complex tea. Excellent quality. My only complaint is that it was so green - typically, I prefer a darker, earthier oolong.

★★★★★

This is a light, almost jasmine green tea. And it's one of the masters teas from Adagio, so you know it's amazing.
