Ti Kuan Yin continues to be my favorite all time tea. If you have not tried it, add it to your list. Good for multiple brews.
Beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Extremely time-consuming to produce (well over a dozen distinct steps). This loosely rolled, lightly oxidized tea yields a pale golden cup with a soft, buttery texture and orchid and honeydew melon notes.

This is the best oolong I've ever had. Light, floral, a bit nutty, and everything your heart could want-- it's 100 worth the price.
Great stuff! For the more advanced tea drinker. Steep at least 3 times for maximum taste...
This master tea is delicious! I found that on the second steeping it gives a delicate and delicious melon taste that you can't get from the first steeping! It also is slam full, so be careful when opening yet another really cool tin!
Very nice oolong tea that has floral notes and some earthy tones as well.
Loved this! I'm normally not the biggest fan of oolongs (too dark/harsh), but this is almost an oolong/green mix. Great stuff!
I like this oolong because it's very similar to a green tea with a lovely green-gold color and a refreshing, slightly astringent taste. Unfortunately for me, there is a strong floral scent/taste which tends to upset my stomach (all floral teas do). I found it good for several steepings.
A lovely tea for those who enjoy floral teas.
very good tea flavorful would recommend to any tea drinker
I'm a fan. Creamy, elegant, with defined notes of spring and orchard.
This was really nice and can be steeped multiple times!
This was the tea that made me an _inamorato_ of oolongs. I brewed it somewhat strong, but steeped it for a fairly short time. It was fantastic. I suppose that I'd describe myself as primarily a black tea drinker, yet while this is a fairly green oolong, I loved it. The flavor is rich and complex, and will develop for multiple steepings. 14.88 points out of a possible 15! Preparation indications below are for the first steeping only.
This has a very pleasant lingering flavor. I was pleasantly surprised.
This is the best Ti Kuan Yin I've ever had. Better than the stuff I used to get at Teavana, and at a much better price!
Great tasting cup of tea. A bit on the expensive side though.
Please don't throw away the leaves after first infusion. Some great stuff is still to come.
This tea was lovely! The first steep (3 min, 180F) wasn't quite flavorful enough, so I left it another couple minutes, and that got a little bitter. However, it was still drinkable. The second steep was where this shined, though. No bitterness. I left it for about 5 minutes at 190, and it ended up the perfect cup for a rainy day.
What a joy to find this one on sale - and the multiple steepings will make it go even further. Very smooth and flavorful, with subtle floral notes.
This is a great tea, in terms of depth it is medium - not too light, and I tend to brew it longer for a deeper flavor. It smells wonderful as well
this is fantastic, great aroma and holds up to multiple infusions.
It has a nice floral quality smell to the brewed, perhaps reminds me of jasmine but I'm no expert. The taste is a bit vegetal but not too much. I'm forgetting what I thought about multiple steeps, I think 2 was good, 3 ok, and not to bother with 4.
I was able to make two delicious pots of tea from one scoop.
One of my favorite afternoon teas, perfect for spring, summer, or any slightly warm day. It has a great flavor very warm and light, with a slight hint of fruitiness.
Great tea! very refreshing! I bought a sample and plan on buying a bigger order
It had a buttery, floral taste to it. A pretty good take on a classic tea. Not the best I've ever had but good.
very good afternoon tea. not bold but not bland either
Tasted like a typical Iron Goddess of Mercy tea. Not overly impressed or underwhelmed. I enjoyed this tea a lot and think the leaves hold up to 2 steepings
This tea is one of the smoothest and most subtle teas I've ever tried. I try not to steep my tea too much because I don't like it when the taste of the tea gets too strong (and I like to save the tea leaves so I can brew a second or third cup). This team never got too strong for me, and it maintained its soft, buttery smoothness for a very long time :D
One of my favorites to drink in the morning. It is a full and rich flavored tea.
This is my first foray into Adagio's Masters collection, and I am not disappointed. Smooth, floral, and sweet oolong. Holds up phenomenally for multiple infusions so it's a bargain despite the cost. 1st steep: 2 minutes at 180F 2nd steep: 3 minutes at 190F 3rd steep: 5 minutes at 200F
Too grassy and abrasive for my liking. Bold, not nessecary pleasant aftertaste. May 'grow' on you if you give it another try. I also not too pleasedwith the fact that the second steep is much weaker.
I tasted this last year while visiting a friend and couldn't resist buying my own tin when I saw it was discounted. It's delicious and totally worth the price.
It smelled amazing when I opened the tin! I thought it would be strong but it was actually light in flavour.
This is certainly a good-quality ti kuan yin, with a clean oolong-y aroma and a lovely golden liquor. Its first steeping is decidedly sweeter, a tiny bit floral, with just a hint of that mineral taste. The second steeping, I find, is a lot more vegetal than the first. There's a stronger cabbage-like 'leaf' taste in addition to the mineral quality. Overall, this variety seems bolder and more strongly flavored than Adagio's standard ti kuan yin. however, that may not be a good thing for everyone's tastes. I normally prefer stronger teas, but I think that I actually like the standard version over the master this time around.
This tea is absolutely wonderful, the first steep is a tad light on flavor but the second really brings out the best of it.definitely worth the price.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tea and am glad that I gave it a try. The price was disconcerting at first, but a little goes a long way and resteeps well.
I liked this tea best when it cooled and was lukewarm, so I could taste how delicate and special it was. The second steeping was even better than the first. Two teaspoons of tea in my IngenuiTEA have unfurled and expanded to fill the whole pot. I am really glad that this was my first introduction to Ti Kuan Yin. Problem is I'm probably spoiled now. UPDATE: Third steeping is even better than the previous two.
I didn't notice any of the fruity/floral tastes they listed in the description. It was just a green oolong with a mineral taste.
I'm so glad I decided to try this tea. I really enjoy oolong, so I figured why not try this since it has such an excellent rating. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. I also loved the tin it came in.
green and earthy in flavor. really liked it and will probably get another sample of it.
This tea really makes me wish that I could rate something 4.5/5. Everything that truly matters with this tea, the taste, is excellent. The flavor is clean and strong, and showcases all of the good qualities looked for in ti Kuan yin from this region.
The thing is, the tea in the Master's series has the unfortunate burden of having to meet more scrutiny in criticism. My one notable criticism was that the leaves were not as whole and in as good of shape as that which you might expect in the higher tier of oolong. The leaves should be whole, and minimally frayed/tattered. Here, sometimes a leaf would be broken which is noteworthy enough to bring up when you're talking about a tea that is aimed to be of a higher quality.
Despite the visual misstep, the taste was extremely enjoyable and I am happy to own this tea.
I'm largely going to repeat what I said about the formosa ali shan because the experience was similar. The exception is that ti kuan yin/tieguanyin teas are one of my absolute favorites, and I love how floral and bright they usually are. But, I could not get this one to cooperate. So, I feel bad giving this only an 'ok,' but I was terribly disappointed with this tea. I'm used to difficult teas -- I regularly make senchas, gyokuros, and different oolongs, but I just could NOT get this one right. I was so desperate I wanted a kind of chat or call-in hotline from adagio to help me figure out what I was doing wrong. I followed the instructions on the tin a few times, and when they didn't produce good results, I checked the web for other temperatures/times. It just never really popped. I'd like to try again because it MUST be able to work if it gets such good reviews, but I'm a bit intimidated now (and worried about the price, too). HELP!
this was a splurge and not something I can afford on a reg basis but it's a very nice delicate flavor. I steep for longer then states but careful not to over steep or it starts to get bitter. use more then once :)
I loved the fruity and floral accents in this tea. It wasn't too vegetal but tasted green.
I will not purchase this again as the batch I received seemed a little burnt is the only way I can describe it. I will use the tea but the milk oolong was way better that this. The milk oolong seemed fresher.
What a great smooth, almost buttery oolong. We enjoyed this very much.
Green tea is an occasional cup for me. I do prefer a robust black. Having said that, this tea is an elegant cup with a fruit aftertaste. I did enjoy my sample, and will purchase this tea again.
I think I may have made a mistake by ordering the Masters fujian ti kuan yin. It is so yummy that I can never order anything of less quality and this tea is not inexpensive. A very light oolong without any bite. I especially enjoyed the gentle floral aroma.
This is a bit less flavorful than the ones I had before.
Very nice before or after dinner. Or, for that matter, a great tea to have first thing in the morning. Very special.
This is an extraordinary oolong, and it came to me as a free sample from Adagio! My sincerest thanks! Be sure to steep this one more than once - you're going to LOVE it!
