Fujian Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Extremely time-consuming to produce (well over a dozen distinct steps). This loosely rolled, lightly oxidized tea yields a pale golden cup with a soft, buttery texture and orchid and honeydew melon notes.

Wonderful mild flavor but not shy with caffeine. My go-to green tea.

One of the best teas I ve tried from Adagio. Beautiful little tin, even for the sample size. Full-bodied, slightly floral, with a toasty finish.

Wonderfully smooth and refreshing, with floral notes and a touch of sweetness as it cools. This tea got me hooked on Ti Kuan Yin, and I've since tried many other varieties and brands. While this tea is amazing, it is not for the uninitiated - I would only recommend it for tea enthusiasts who already enjoy Ti Kuan Yin or similar, lightly-oxidized oolongs. As a more casual tea drinker myself, I will confess that I've enjoyed a few other, much less expensive Ti Kuan Yins from Adagio's competitors just as much as this one, which may sound like blasphemy to those with more refined palates. Bottom line: This is a top-tier tea, but casual tea drinkers may not reap the full benefits that merit the considerable price tag.

A lovely tea with a rich, woody flavor that is simple and refreshing.

This quite possibly is the best tea I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Delicate smooth buttery floral perfection steep after steep after steep.

Excellent Oolong, bold, rich color and body to it. Good to relax with and just enjoy.

★★★★★

This has a very smooth taste. Very clean and fresh green taste with slight buttery tones. I noticed the floral tones more on the second steeping. The orchid flavor is amazing! I admit I left the bag in on the second steeping though. This act gave it a more advanced flavor for me. I love the smell of this before it is brewed also. Exactly what I was looking for!

I like this but not as much as I wanted to. It is not bad, but not worth the price.

★★★★★

A very lovely top-shelf oolong with a nice brightness to it.

★★★★★

One of the best green Oolongs I have tried. If you love greener Oolongs that are not so heavily roasted, this one is great! Nice smooth buttery flavor.

This is an extraordinary tea! Although, I’ve never had the pleasure of enjoying a Ti Kuan Yin Oolong previously, so I cannot give you a comparison, only my review of this one. I love that Adagio offers a Master Tea Series, as I prefer and enjoy very high quality teas and this one does not disappoint! The flavors are wonderfully complex! Having a rich, yet smooth and buttery mouth feel, gently floral on the back of the pallet with a slightly green flavor in the end. The pleasure of being able to enjoy high quality tea, in my opinion, absolutely justifies paying the higher price.

This tea has a light, subtle taste that is great in the morning.

★★★★★

Delicate and sweet. Overall an excellent tea, but then I do have a weakness for a good oolong. Not quite as good as the Alishan in my personal opinion, but I will definitely order this again.

★★★★★

This is a nice oolong. with a floral nose and notes of honeysuckle. I enjoy it hot, lightly sweetened. Great afternoon pick me up

This was a beautiful tea to watch steep as the leaves unfurl in the mug. I do suggest some caution though; I used the 1 teaspoon per 8oz rule and the leaves nearly overflowed from my infuser (although I tend to use larger mugs)! A lovely, smooth cup of tea that is worth savoring and I think the leaves are good for at least two steepings.

★★★★★

My wife particularly likes this one. I think the flavor and fragrance are subtle.

This was a good blend of tea I will purchase it again

This is defanatly one of my favorites. It Ti Kuan Yin at it's best

★★★★☆

pretty good but a little too buttery. not worth the price

★★★★★

This is the most delicious and delicate tea I've ever had. I know it's going to sound weird but it smells like very light olive oil and the taste is smooth and fatty. That's the best way I can explain but it's not even close to the actual taste. It is a surprisingly bodied and yet delicate tea.

This tea is good but not worth the money. As far as the masters teas go, I like formosa pouchong better.

★★★★★

My only other green so far was jasmine Chun hao. This is at least 1 tier above that. The liquid is a light greenish yellow, and the leaves have a weedy smell. The taste is distinctive, very delicious, and very relaxing. The leaves are gorgeous. I love it

I was quite startled with how much I liked this tea. I honestly hesitated in the purchase in the first place. I found the taste to be incredibly smooth. There is just a hint of sweetness without sugar

This was one of the first oolong I tried. I enjoyed it but I really prefer green tea.

★★★★★

Another wonderful tea with a complex flavor and earthy aroma.

This, along with the Formosa Ali Shan are my two favorite teas at Adagio. Very subtle taste that is great for relaxing at night

★★★☆☆

Not as rich flavored as the formosa pouchong, I could only get a couple decent steepings out of it. Not bad by any means, but I'd honestly rather take most of the non-master oolongs over this.

Tightly rolled full leaves with a beautiful colour. Complex layers of flavours

This Masters Tea has a lovely, smooth flavor that is thoroughly enjoyable. I found the taste to be light, yet complex.

I liked the depth, it was kinda bready, but not heavy.

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea, it is a very smooth, and naturally sweet tea. I put a tiny bit of honey in it and it is great for sipping. very good breakfast tea. I really like this one.

this is a nice cup, I think it's a bit strong for me, but if you like a strong flavor, this is nice.

A nice oolong with a mild floral taste. Very slight smokiness. Definitely reminds me more of a green.

This is a very floral green. You have that grassy taste at first, and then it finishes on a jasmine note that normally I would hate, but with this tea, really works. I'm seriously loving the master collection. These suckers are amazing.

This tea is delicious and delicate. I brew a small teaspoonful per cup and it brings a lot of flavor. This is my company tea, but it will be best appreciated by your friends who are already tea connoisseurs, as the flavors are very nuanced.

★★★★★

I fell in love with this tea when one of my Chinese friends brought it back from China and gave it to me as a gift. It is my favorite tea for the late morning or early afternoon. I am a musician and I love a cup of this tea next to me as I am practicing!

★★★★★

Nice aromatic Oolong. A bit pricey. I like it as an after lunch tea.

A solid daily drinker style TKY, not terribly nuanced but sweet and good for multiple steeps gongfu style

I don't taste the nutty notes that other people talk about with this one, but it's still a favorite of mine. It can take three or even four infusions without losing the flavor, which I really like.

★★★★★

Delightful, light Oolong tea. Its like sweet and buttery at the same time. I like to brew mine just a tad longer and got no bitterness at all. Even more fun is that the flavor subtly changes as you steep again. I got 3 excellent steepings, just changing the time and temp a little bit. I've become a big fan of green oolongs! A+

Excellent ti kuan yin. I mostly drink the regular from adagio for cost reasons, but really its just a taste preference, both are excellent quality. I recommend ordering samplers of both.

★★★★★

Bought this as a gift for my father. He and my uncle are sort of tea connoisseurs so I wasn't sure how he would receive it but upon first sip he remarked that it was some of the best he had had recently. Very aromatic and complex.

★★★☆☆

Maybe it's because I am a 'black tea guy', but this tea just doesn't taste much like tea to me. This is a very subtle tea. I prefer the bold Assam's, Darjeeling's, and Yunnan's. It has the buttery texture mentioned and subtle floral notes but not my 'cup of tea'.

Amazing. The same great tea as the ti kuan yin but with a more refined taste. My favorite tea I think I've ever had. Definitely ordering more of this. Well worth the price.

★★★★★

Each steep has character and the number you get easily compensates for the additional price. The color is light but the aroma and taste are deep.

★★★★★

Like the Goddess of Mercy Herself, this tea is heavenly. It was the perfect tea to accompany this year's Lunar New Year dinner.

Just didn't like it, strange taste, odd color, not for me

★★★★★

Fu Jian Ti Kuan Yin is one of my favorite from Adagio Tea. This masters version tastes way better than the one in their general oolong teas IMO. It has a pleasant orchid note, but the flavor is complex with a hint of honeysuckle in it,too. The fragrant smell and taste last through multiple steeping. A very high quality ti kuan yin.

This is the best tasting oolong I have tasted so far. Aromatic floral scents fill your nose. Has a rich mouth feel that finishes clean. Even taste great cold.
