Fujian Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Extremely time-consuming to produce (well over a dozen distinct steps). This loosely rolled, lightly oxidized tea yields a pale golden cup with a soft, buttery texture and orchid and honeydew melon notes.

Finally I found the 'CORRECT' Ti Kuan Yin. It is new tea, with the right orchids aroma. Will continue buying.

This is an interesting tea. Mellow, but I found a subtle smokiness to it. Not my usual style of tea, but I did enjoy it.

My top favorite in the morning. It’s delicate yet declares it presence. Makes me nostalgic of being back home.

Great tea, the sample size is pricey but you get quite a bit for the money

I adore this one. I can’t believe how much the tea swelled up. I will be ordering more. This is one of my all time favorites.

As a fan of the other Ti Kuan Yin from Adagio, I had to try this one. Very delicate, slightly fruity floral. Highly recommended.

This tea was great quality green oolong. It was the first tea that I started my gaiwan brewing adventure with!

★★★★★

This was my first loose leaf oolong tea and I sure did pick a good one! The buttery texture and orchid notes are perfect for me and lift my mood every time I indulge in a cup. Will definitely buy again when it is back in stock!

A good general easy drinking tea. Good flavor and would buy again.

This is just lovely. Absolutely going to splurge on a proper-sized pot for future brewings.

This reminds me of the Monky Picked Oolong from Teavana. Lovely, rich, and highly resteepable

★★★★★

I have to say this tea is still amazing to me

i enjoy it more with each cup

It was pretty good iced, just a hint of flavor but I'm not big on plain green tea. I have to add honey to it to give it that boost of flavor. I do like a simple cup here and there and these are nice to have on hand when that feeling comes on for the need to have a plain no frills cup of tea.

★★★★★

A delicious Oolong that really hits the spot. Fragrant and tasty.

absolutely fantastic tea. even though the tea is light in color it is rich in flavor. there's a nice sweet tone to it that really makes this tea stand out.

I don t even put this in a tea bag, I let the leaves unfurl and live their life! So good. I brew twice.

★★★☆☆

Something about this just underwhelmed me, if I'm honest. I think I was expecting a more distinctive flavor, or just more flavor period, but I found this very weak and tepid. The second steep is somehow stronger than the first. I'd think I needed hotter water, but I hesitate to risk overextracting such an expensive tea. Received as a free sample, would probably not purchase of my own volition.

This tea is my favourite, do not oversteep, rinse first

★★★★★

Beautifully crafted tea, love how it is rolled and how after steeping it they unfurl. The tea is a bit light, but is definitely delicious. Worth a try!

The smell of spring in a cup of tea. A great way to start my morning.

Vegetal and grassy are the main notes in this one, with an underlying licorice feel and slight touch of melon. I’m even getting a seaweed flavor.
I’m in the middle of drinking my first cup as I type this — I’ll definitely update as I finish the sample. So far, this is a 4-star tea for me.

This was a very green tea in a sense that I felt like I was drinking a Japanese kukicha which was not bad at all. It did have more floral than umami notes, also lower temp and less steep time I feel is best for this tea.

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. It was a bit sharp at first but I have definitely grown to enjoy this tea with a little sugar.

I like this tea very well! But to be truthful, I have tasted other teas that I like equally well that aren’t as expensive.

Soooo lovely!!
I truly love this tea. Very nice nutty, spinachy notes that balance so nicely.
This has actually become my Go-To Tea! Light, pleasant taste! I love it!

★★★★★

Brewed via a Velocitea s Oolong cycle. This tea is like a very light green tea, reminiscent of the Golden Flower tea but without the floral sweetness. This tea is very well balanced and easy to drink, vegetal but not overpoweringly so. It s like a more subtle sencha.

I don't know how to explain this tea - it's very good, smooth and has kind of a very mild fruity undertone.

I enjoy oolong and appreciate the delicate floral tones rendered in each cup of Fujian Ti Kuan Yin, but regret that the flavor is somewhat weak after a recommended 3-minutes of steeping. I extended steeping time to achieve a fuller flavor, but even then this variety of oolong still kept me wanting. I've tried Jade Oolong, and found that it imparted a more satisfying aroma and taste at a fraction of the cost.

Nice leafy broth that doesn't go overboard with the greens like flavor.

I steeped the tea a bit longer than expected. In spite of that (or maybe even because of it?), I really enjoyed this cup. It was smooth, verrrrrry faintly smoky, and refreshing.

Sublime. My first purchase from the Masters section and I do not at all regret it even though I winced a little at the price of the sample (I don't have a lot of money to spend on 'indulgences' like fancy tea, sadly - the price is more than fair, I just can't afford to be spending a lot on stuff like this).

I love the pretty little tin it came in. The leaves are in good condition and clearly high quality. They expand a whole lot in the cup, which made me glad that I had used my in cup metal infuser rather than a steeping bag. The liquor is well colored, yet in a delicate hue, giving a balanced and attractive appearance. The flavor is wonderful. Reminded me of some white teas I've had, but slightly more robust and definitely of superior quality (not that the other teas were bad, it's just that this was that good!)

It was floral, mostly, though people I shared it with picked up on fruity tones more. It's not sweet exactly, nor creamy in the way one would usually mean that, but I want to refer to cream and honey in trying to describe it. There's a subtle mineral edge to the aftertaste, not strong enough to be unpleasant or distracting, just a clean, bracing finish. I will put milk and/or sugar in a tea when it seems appropriate or called for, but not this time. This tea needed absolutely nothing. No question I will buy again when my carefully portioned-out sample is gone.

Good tasting tea, very fresh, but for a higher-end, Japanese green tea, I'd expect to be able to steep it more times.

Very rich and minerally; make sure your water is hot enough or else you don’t get all of the notes

A nice, classic oolong... but honestly not as good as I was expecting it to be. I personally prefer the Jade Oolong, which also happens to be more reasonably priced. So although I ll enjoy the rest of what I bought, I won t be purchasing this one again.

★★★★☆

Sampled this new tea as a way to broaden my choices. Found it to be good but not great. You may have a better experience because it IS a quality product and I may just have had an off day. Try it for yourself to be sure.

★★★★★

This is one of my new favorite teas! It has a very soft buttery feel when drinking it. It has a prominent orchid taste to it. It re-steeps pretty well you can get a great tasting 2nd steeping (90c @ 7mins) and a decent (albeit very watered down) 3rd steeping (98C @ 12mins).

This is a good Oolong that I would order again, but I still prefer Jade Oolong

★★★★★

Very special tea! good quality and aroma! I brew it for myself gong fu style!

★★★★★

This is a top 3 oolong in our house. We’ve tried pretty much all of them, and this *might* be my wife’s favorite. Worth a try, but yes, expensive.

★★★★☆

I don't remember this tea that well, it been a while since i had it. but i'm pretty sure it was good

A subtle tea that helps me relax at the first sip. Lightly colored and flavored with grassy notes, this has become my new go to tea.

This is a tea you have to give your undivided attention and sit down completely unbothered to enjoy. For me, it is a tea that you enjoy when you want a special moment alone. Intricate pronounced orchid on the palate with floral undertones that will continue to linger. The right amount of sweetness to balance the delicate creaminess. This is not a tea you just brew and go sipping along your busy day. Take some time to reconnect with yourself and enjoy each mandatory sequent steeps because it only gets better.

The Master Collection Tea's are all real fantastic. I brewed using the velociTea Tea Maker so it was brewed 1 min longer than directions say but, I can't say if the flavor was off or not as to me it still was a fantastic tea experience.

I'm a huge fan of the cheaper Ti Kuan Yin, so I thought I'd give this one a shot. It's good, but compared to the cheaper Ti Kuan Yin, it's not as good. The cheaper one has a wonderful fragrance and flavor, and this 'Masters' tea seemed a bit lacking to me.
