This greener oolong is flavorful, complex, and for me quite delicious. It has a certain flavor that I haven't experienced in tea before. It's probably the floral note, but it plays differently than other floral notes I've experienced. That note puts it on on another level compared to Adagio's other Ti Kuan Yin. I did my first gongfu style brewing with this tea and it had strong flavor for 8 infusions. Western style it's good for at least a couple.

I think I order this more than any other oolong tea. It has been one of my favorites because I can steep at least 3 times sometimes 4

This was okay; it’s kind of vegetal but in a fresh way, with no bitterness. I would have this again but it’s not a favorite.

A great green oolong, minerally and buttery. I wouldn't say this is my favorite, but quite delicious, and I always enjoy the beautiful show as the tea leaves dance and unfurl.

A little mineral, a little floral, and a little savory. This is a good tea, but not my tea. It’s too vegetal for me. You can get plenty of steeps from this, making it well worth the cost.

This is a lovely oolong. The first steep was a bit vegetal, but clean tasting. The second steep was less vegetal and a little buttery. It's a nice, soothing kind of tea.

CT portion, a nice light bodied oolong brewed for 3 minutes at 195 degrees, I'm sure it would be good for multiple steeps but I just don't do that. Nice sip hot and just as good as it cooled.

I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea July 2025 box.a buttery, greenish oolong tea I'll have to share this with my oolong loving sister.

I love a base tea that steep so well I can pull from the same leaves over & over again with great results.
Buttery, barely green, some whiff of floral notes... I love the depth.

This one wasn't bad, but didn't stand out to me either. First steep was mainly vegetal with dry finish. Second steep saw some orchid notes coming out, but very subtle. Third steep was probably the best to me as it was less vegetal more floral and a little mineral layered in. I think everything was very subtle and probably my least favorite part was I have come to expect a pretty buttery texture from oolongs and that was absent here. I also didn't pick up on what I can only describe as a general oolong flavor with this one. I think maybe the fujian oolongs may be better explored brewing gongfu style and I may try that in the future and update accordingly. Still glad I got to try it in today's CT box. 195° for all 3 steeps 2 min, 3 min, 3.5 min

Delicious oolong. Very smooth flavor. I could drink this all day although, with the caffeine content, I probably shouldn’t. Haha

How good is this tea?
So good it brought my floor to life!
After a small spill.
My floor just woke up!
It started to demand tea
So I steeped a pot!
Walking carefully!
I tipped the pot, spilling more
I have a happy floor...
Now I have to share
As my tile wants my tea
I named her Audrey...

This is a lovely greenish oolong tea. I enjoy watching the leaves unfurl as it steeps. You can easily steep this one 3 times. It has the buttery oolong mouthfeel and has a pleasant slightly mineral/vegetal/floral flavor.

I loved this. Steeped 4 min at 195 and wish I’d left it longer maybe. Very delicate but definite flavor- toasty smell and ‘sun warmed straw’ flavor I always want to say where others are saying ‘floral’ maybe that’s what I mean . No astringency. Glad I tried it.

I'm so glad that I got the chance to sample this tea, as it's easily one of the best oolongs I've ever had. The taste is very smooth, with a floral taste that lingers in your senses and brings a moment of peace to any chaotic day.

CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 195 F. A very toasty, mineral forward tea, the flavor reminds me a lot of toasty Cheerios. There's a subtle floral sweetness to the back that indeed reminds me of orchids, and overall, it's got a very nice, medium body with a smooth mouth feel. It's a bit dustier than I expected, and it has a nice earthiness with the tiniest hint of bitterness that makes sense given that it's a greener oolong. I've had three infusions so far and I intend to have more!

To me, this tea tasted a bit vegetal with a hint of floral and was just rather neutral for me. Brewed for 4 minutes at 212 (accidentally) with a packet of Splenda.

If you want to taste wet moldy grass with a touch of wet swamp rocks look no further. I was pretty disappointed and should have taken the similar review below to hear. If you like earthy tones this would be up your alley sorry just not what I was expecting out of such an expensive tea.

This is excellent! It is floral, sweet, smooth. Steeped at 195 for 3 minutes, did add a couple rocks of beat sugar, and this is going to be my daily driver for a while! I was afraid to try a 'masters' tea thinking it would be lost on me, but I am so glad I pulled the trigger! a wonderful cup

Very fancy oolong. Earthy flavor like wet rocks. Only tea afficionados would enjoy this good tea. I recommend trying a sample if available. This tea is worth the price if you want to adventure into more of the fancier teas.

Simply AMAZING! If you are a Ti Guan Yin fanatic like me, you will sure find this tea fascinating. Pricy but worth every penny.

Masters Tea that is worth the price. Delicious, mildly mineral, touch of vegetal, sprig of floral oolong tea that requires no additional flavors for it to shine. The leaves are stunning and so pretty as they unfurl. Holds up to multiple steeps and fun the gongfu as mentioned in other reviews! Try it to really enjoy the layers of this tea. Cheers!

The beautiful tin this tea came in...is a gorgeous keepsake. These leaves are unbelievably, uniquely, intriguingly gorgeous. The taste was not for me, though. Starting out as bread-y or nutty and mellowing to melon-y, as it cooled. Its good, but its not my jam--to give 5 Stars.. and I would not need to order this tea again, at this juncture. 🙏🏻 Nonetheless, a deep bow and a Lotus to Bodhisattva Kuan Yin.

Definitely my favorite tea! Second through fourth brews are my favorite! I’ve brewed it up to 5 times with amazing results. The first brew has a very light bitter taste (perfectly acceptable) but it goes away by the third brew. Also, very delicious as an iced tea. 10/10 highly recommend!! 3 grams @ recommended steep.

It's not that the higher-priced teas taste specifically better - once you hit a certain price point, I've not really had a bad cup of tea. It's that you can re-steep the same leaves for multiple cups and not find the quick drop-off of flavor that happens with less expensive leaves.
Teas that taste of butter are always so surprising, pairing well with but still contrasting the floral notes - the description says orchid, all I know is it isn't rose or jasmine. It's a beautiful golden liquer with little astringency, little curled leaves spreading out beautifully when steeped.

Fujian Ti Kuan Yin -
This 'Masters' tea is still one of the best Green Oolongs that I know of. I recently ran out of the last batch I ordered in 2019, and ordered a new batch this month. I just made a cup from the latest batch and it has the same buttery smoothness the older batch had. For anyone curious about Ti Kuan Yin green Oolong, just get some of this. It is one seriously good Oolong. There's a reason it's so highly rated. Although it costs more initially than many Adagio teas, it's still quite the value since you can easily steep it four times, and it keeps on giving wonderful flavor in each steep.

A wonderful Tieguanyin oolong tea. Fresh green rolled leaves unfurl as they steep, emitting a beautiful floral aroma. Nice to enjoy western style. I became more acquainted with the complexity of this tea by infusing it gongfu style. The tea liquor was a pale yellow with a smooth mouth feel. A smooth bodied fresh flavor. This tea was slightly vegetal, had hints of floral flavor with a nice lingering sweet melon finish. Infused this tea several times to reveal subtle differences of flavor, aroma and color. I have experienced tiguanyin teas from other vendors and this one stands above them, this tea is well worth the price.

I just tried this head to head against Golden Flower. This is good, but my household actually preferred the 'lesser' Golden Flower for an oolong. This one has more complexity but dare-I-say less enjoyable drinking experience since I look for umami smoothness in an oolong while this had more of a ripe astringency to it. It was was not very forgiving versus other oolongs I have in my collection because I was able to draw out a lot of bitterness even with a short infusion time and sub-boiling temps. Comparing the tea side by side really allowed me to see I didn't prefer with this tea vs Golden Flower given its price point.

The floral aroma of this tea is heavenly! It brings you in and keeps you there. I waited a little bit and drank this warm...I loved it even more. It is smooth and floral...stands well on it's own...nothing added. A little bit goes a long way...the leaves really open up. Good for multiple steeps...making it worth every penny...in my opinion. It's a 'masters' tea..make it special...Sip, savor, relax and enjoy! ...repeat😊

Beautiful loosely rolled dark green tea leaves were noted in my bag. I was excited with anticipation for the forthcoming leaf unfurling show that was about to happen before my eyes. Mild vegetal aromas were noted.
Used 3 grams of tea for a 12 ounce steep. First steep was for two minutes and 30 seconds, when half of the leaves had fallen and were mostly open. Second and subsequent steeps were for two minutes, when all leaves had fallen and fully open. I steeped at 190°F because my kettle doesn’t have a 195 button.
When hot, mild bready flavors were noted. Mild honey-sweet and smooth mouthfeel was noted.
When warm, mild nutty bread flavors were noted. Vegetal flavors were mild. A mild mineral mouthfeel was noted. Tingly tongue tastes were noted towards finish.
At finish, this oolong was very weak in the flavor arena. (1st Steep: 2 mins 30 secs/Subsequent steeps: 2 mins @ 190ºF, no sugar)
Added Notes: I tried using 4 grams of tea for a 12 ounce steep to intensify flavors. Results … Above flavors were pleasant tasting and one level stronger, but with a moderate astringent mouthfeel noted.

This is a great one! I recently tried the slightly less expensive Ti Kuan Yin with the CommuniTea and found it not quite to my tastes. It was quite buttery. I usually love oolongs, so when I saw this one and read the description, I decided to give it a try anyways. This one is much more balanced, and the floral orchid flavor comes to the rescue to leave just a hint of butteriness. Glad I tried this, I’m a fan!

I travel a lot to China for work and family, and I usually stock up on good tea there. When the pandemic halted travel, I despaired of getting my tie guan yin (ti kuan yin) tea fix. The tea I’ve bought in the US is usually sub par, even at supposedly fancy tea shops. But this, to my delight, is the real deal. Lovely aroma and perfume.

Ti Kuan Yin is easily one of my favorite teas; having sampled many varieties of it, I can confidently say Adagio's Fujian Ti Kuan Yin is well worth every penny. The tea produces multiple brews (each just as lovely as the last). I'd highly recommend it to anyone fond of oolongs.
