A nice tea to be enjoyed when you need something to wake you up mid morning or afternoon. As i do most black teas, i drank it with a splash of half and half.
This Shui Xian is a high fired, medium grade oolong with a rich-tasting amber cup and nuances of minerals, apricots and spice.

Good floral aroma and flavor notes, a noticeable mineral taste, and no astringency. Not as impressive as the jade oolong, but that's reflected in the price. Definitely a good option for a standard daily tea.
Rich in clarity and taste, and I rushed to add this to my auto delivery. I've tried oolongs before and liked them, but this is a new favorite.
I tried really hard to like this one but it gave off a scent and taste that reminded me of fish. I'm sure there are people who love it and maybe I just got a bad batch? But this one's gonna be a No from me
Super tasty. Gives the feel of rainy days in the mountains. brews very well, and can be brewed any number of ways to satisfy your tea needs.
This is one of my favorite teas ever. I love the minerally taste and I can also really taste the chocolate and fruity notes in the tea. My friends all love it too.
This tea is so yummy and refreshing loved the taste.
One of the only oolongs I actually like. Good starter oolong.
Fantastic Tea. I am not very familiar with Oolong teas in general, but I am really happy I got a sampler. Definitely going to re-order some of the Fujian Rain
Very nice, mild, green leaning oolong with mineral notes. I find this does best drinking straight without additives such as cream or honey but do as thou wilt. This is perfect for hot days when you do not want anything fussy, just a nice middle of the road oolong that is well balanced and very easy to enjoy. I don't get any smoke, cream, or fruit notes. I finally understand what a 'rock tea' tastes like though! Very earthy. If you ate mudpies as a kid, like me, you will enjoy this one.
What a delicious toasty oolong! Ordered multiple times at this point.
Very earthy, dark leaves brew up dark. Feels like it would be a good cold weather brew.
One of my favorite Oolongs. Very unique and mineral, earthy flavor-taste. Absolutely Delicious!
CommuniTEA portion: Brewed as directed. Love this earthy, mineral loveliness!
A lovely flavorful oolong that's now a favorite. Subtle peach tones came through on the back sip and a lovely long lingering mineral taste followed. Fujian Rain has a delightful darker and more earthy flavor than its cousin Fujian Baroque. Love the pleasing mineral flavor in this one.
My CT packet had 2 g/ 2 ½ tsp of longish dark leaves that had a tangy scent. Brewed 14 oz. at 195*F for 2:45 min. The liquor had a nice amber color. Sweetening brought out more of the delicious multifaceted flavors of this nice dark oolong. It was a smooth sip with no bitterness or noticeable astringency. A resteep was tasty too. Both cups were gone before I could remember to chill a portion. As an oolong fan, this one will be a welcome addition to my already bulging tea stash.
This is a good oolong tea with predominantly mineral tastes. I could not detect any cocoa or pepper but I enjoyed every sip. I did a 15-second hot water rinse as suggested and then steeped at 190 degrees for 2 minutes each over 3 steeps. I might try a fourth one later.
I wish I had rinsed this tea. It smelled and tasted vegetal to me when hot. As it cooled there were much more mineral notes. I wanted to like it more than I did.
It good, it had a different taste didn’t get any peach or chocolate taste.
CommuniTEA 7/18/22: A fabulous oolong! Roasted oaky notes on top of vegetables and mineral tang. I love the complexity.
Rinsed, brewed western style for 2.5 minutes and am now cold brewing the leaves overnight.
What a phenomenal tea. Will be ordering more. This is one of the best adagio teas I've had to far!
Nice natural, mineral tasting tea. Holds up to multiple steeps.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this tea, but had high hopes after reading multiple reviews. I was not disappointed. This tea is complex and lovely, with a smooth, earthy, sweetness. I look forward to enjoying this a lot in the future.
This tea had a nice enjoyable taste. I followed suggestions and rinsed for 15 sec then at 185 for 2 minutes.
A soft and smooth oolong that is enjoyable plain, hot or cold. A nice staple for the tea pantry.
Not much to the nose on this oolong but the flavor is lovely. Mineral with a touch of maltiness and creamy mouthfeel finish. Also held up well to a 2nd steep.
Earthy and full. Very nice cup to enjoy on a rainy summer afternoon.
Today's CommuniTea packet is fujian rain, a smooth oolong. I'm not always in the mood for oolong, but when I am, this is a nice one. Brewed in 12 ounces of 195-degree water for slightly over two minutes.
Fujian Rain has an smooth, earthy, mineral flavor. It’s good for multiple steeps.
This is a minerally, malty, lovely oolong tea. I did a quick rinse of the leaves with hot water to remove the dust and 'wake' them up. If you like oolongs, you will love this one!
Lovely cup of tea. Earthy and smooth. 'Water Sprite' just brings a smile to my face. I added nothing, it was wonderful on it's own.
A delicious oolong with an earthy and mineral flavor.
It's got a very soft, gentle, and easy taste to it. Whilst it does have it's own flavour to it, it did make me think of scenes wherein characters drink from those fresh, flowing streams - that sort of brisk, crisp flavour.
really tasty oolong tea! very earthy with minor malty flavors
This is a nice oolong tea that can be steeped multiple times. It has a complex flavor and is very enjoyable!
This was a decent black tea but very plain. It was smooth and no objections to that. However, for me, I prefer a flavored black tea, which I know this is not meant to be. If you are looking for a good quality black tea, this may be for you.
Fantastic oolong! Bright mineral notes and slight dark chocolate notes, a great cuppa!!
I love a good oolong! I brewed it for about 2 minutes, and it came out well.
A very earthy oolong with a slightly malty taste as it cools a bit! It's probably the strongest oolong I've had, but I enjoyed it a lot!
Dark, full bodied Oolong with a rich nutty flavor and a chrisp fall leaves quality.
I'm not a huge oolong fan, but this one is pretty mild, a little grassy but still with that mineral taste/earthiness funk. It's not too powerful and might be a good 'beginner' oolong. I think it didn't need sweetener, which is always a hard rating for me to give!
'Rain' is a great name for today's tea - it has the same earthy, mineral character as fresh rain on stone. The description mentions fruity flavors first, so I was expecting them to be more forward. Instead, this is a strong, complex cup with a unique character, and yes, a touch of fruitiness lingering in the background. I followed Jim's steeping recommendation to the letter and really enjoyed this cup!
2022-07-18 CommuniTEA Review:
Today's packet opened to reveal long and wispy curled Oolong tea leaves, with a fresh earthy scent. A 3-minute steep at 195°F produced a deep amber-colored Oolong tea.
The steaming cup gave off an earthy and vegetal aroma. The first sip had notes of rich cocoa, followed by a fresh mineral 'rock tea' flavor, characteristic of a Wuyi Oolong. The flavor reminds me of petrichor after a fresh rain, deep in a mountainous wilderness. It's such a unique flavor that is vegetal yet slightly toasty, smooth, and buttery with a crisp minerality balanced by a floral undertone.
Overall, still an excellent tea! This is my favorite tea to warm up on a rainy day, although it's great anytime.
2017-01-29 Review:
This one is very unique! It's almost like a mineral 'rock tea' like flavor, like the smell of fresh rain on a mountaintop above timber line. Hints of darker green or oolong tea flavor mix in with this to give it a fresh vegetal characteristic.
Mineral taste noted with lovely earthy notes. My communiTEA portion was enough to fill half of a small teapot, probably an overly large mug full of it. Sipping from an equally small cup with a piece of rock sugar in the bottom is delightful. With each cup I have less sugar until just the earthy oolong remains, refreshing and with a hint of something almost fruity.
Toasted, sweet and nutty notes fill out this sip, combining with rich mineral notes. This tea is kind of similar to a hojicha, which I really enjoy. Oolongs aren't really a go-to for me, but this is a beautiful tea.
A lovely oolong! Woodsy/mineral notes are definitely present, but not overpowering. The flavors all blend together perfectly. Wonderful relaxing cup of tea! .
7/18/2022 - Love this mineral/earthy nuanced oolong! I discovered this week that this tea is also quite lovely cold-brewed! Love it!
This is not my favorite oolong but it is very good. It has a light mineral and woody taste and it’s smooth. I enjoyed it enough that I’d drink it again.
I love these kinds of teas! It's woodsy. It's has a mineral taste. Liquid is brown but not dark. It's more of a brown/gold color. A great tea if you like non-flavored oolongs.
This was a nice, clean oolong. Fine on its own, but I could see this being a nice base for some other flavours as well.
Oolong isn't my usual go to tea. I have had many in blends, but few pure oolong teas on its own. This was a nice earthy brew. Nice to meet you Fujian Rain!
While I didn’t quite get the mineral taste listed in the description, I did get some peach undertones that came out more with a bit of honey. This makes a lovely cup of tea overall.
