Fujian Rain isn’t a bad tea but for me it’s not enough to buy it again
So smooth and delicious with milk and sugar or without. A wonderful, slightly spiced-tasting tea for the morning.
I tasted a peach/apricot note in this, but really didn't pick up on any spice or mineral notes. For me, this tea is just okay. Nothing bad about it, but nothing outstanding either.
Has a nice, full-bodied roasted taste similar to hojicha, but a bit sharper and more on the mineral-y side.
Although this isn’t my favorite tea in my collection I’ll still give this a 5 star. I bought this being unsure about how I would feel about due to the nutty flavor they stated it would. I ended up not liking it too much, but it is very true to the description
With a little maple syrup, this was my go-to tea for our late summer rains. It is inviting and complex and dusty in a good way.
I like but don't rave about this tea on its own as I do Wuyi Ensemble, but chiefly it is useful to me in 'diluting' another company's overly flavored honey oolong so that the flavor level is appropriate.
Tastes of minerals, vaguely of honey and peach. I agree with twyla on the mineral notes leading to a ever so slight pervasive bitterness. It's definitely got layers and is complex, with some mild notes of cocoa. It's smooth, pleasant overall, but I don't know if it's quite for me. I did wash the leaves and add some sweetener.
A very nice Oolang. A rounded mellow flavor and it compares very favorabely to other Oolongs I have bought
A very nice oolong. Smoky and slightly mineral, it still has a gorgeous oolong taste. I could see drinking this next to a fire as a storm rages outside. It’ s very soothing, and yet still retains a hint of mystery. Next time I shall try it with milk!
While it is a delicious oolong, it is very incredibly light. The taste is faint, subtle, and vaporous. I mean, I can still taste the roasted notes of traditional oolong. It's just very...light and subtle. For those looking for a richer, stronger, more robust taste, there are other oolongs out there.
For an oolong, this one has the minerality you'd expect. However, it also has a few fruity notes that give it a little extra zing.
Not at all bitter, very earthy but also a bit vegetal--my favorite things in a tea.
Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. An enjoyable cup but not a favorite. I don't usually drink oolongs. I prefer the more oxidized ones like this one since they taste more like black tea.
Amazing oolong! It kind of tastes like a light earthy rain. Very appropriately named. Lovely flavor, not at all heavy.
This tea has an understated malt to it. I waffled between four and five stars, because I appreciate a good malty tea, but I didn’t know if this one was as bold as I would have liked. If it were up against a Formosa oolong, or, even better, a yunnan black, this would lose the choice. On its own? A fine tea. Compared to other adagio offerings? Just not quite enough
Warm and comforting
A bit of a strong grasp
Like a perfect hug
This is another one of those teas that I can enjoy hot or iced or even at a lovely room temperature. It’s not my go to rainy tea, but it works for all other moments.
I really enjoyed this tea. It is strong but tasty and smooth with a slight mineral taste. The second steep was just as good as the first.
I was a little nervous at first to brew this tea, the reviews rave about it. So I did 'rinse' my leaves for the first time ever. I slowly poured the kettle water over my tea basket over the sink for just a few second until the leaves looked wet. Then I added the basket to my mug and pour the hot water in. Seeped for 3 minutes. It was delicious! Little to no bitterness, very earthy. Last couple sips were cold and I understood the rain in the name.
I did not enjoy my sample of this tea. It is too earthy and mineral for my taste.
This is an earthy tasting tea. Definitely a mineral taste. Enjoyable, but not a tea I will purchase.
A high quality oolong with a distinct mineral taste.
I really liked this and was surprised as it's not my usual kind of tea but I loved it. Maybe my palate is developing :) No sweeter needed I think it would ruin it. I tried to splash in some cool water to bring the boiling temp down as I can't control for temperature, ust regular teakettle, and let it brew 3 min. It has a kind of toasty scent and a taste that really does remind me of rain but it a nice way! Clean, not bitter. A nice uplift in the afternoon.
A complex oolong, with mineral notes dominating and a faint nuttiness as well.
My son and I tried a gong Fu tea ceremony with this one, first sip was a bit earthy, but as we kept sipping it became very enjoyable, I really think there is something to waking the leaves up with a quick hot pour before the first steep, it was nice and can't wait to try more like this.
A decent oolong that stands up on its own. I prefer some of the other oolongs to this one, but it has a nice flavor profile to it, and I would drink it again.
Great tasting oolong, mineral earthy taste some fruity undertones. Very pleasant.
I liked the tea today. It has a nice smooth flavor.
I love this tea. Black teas are probably my favorite, this oolong is just delicious!
2 min @ 190
First smell, faint peachy notes.
First taste (no sugar): faint peach flavor with a lovely tea.
Second taste (2t sugar): I'm in love this is the second CommuniTEA I'm going to have to buy in only 2 days of being here. Wow! Great stuff.
When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was met with earthy aromas, with a hint of peach. I steeped the tea for about 2 minutes. This tea has a lovely earthy taste that has notes of peach and has a nice mineral finish. A very enjoyable tea!
The Wuyi rock teas are always going to be my go-to oolongs, but this is a great second place finisher. As the description notes, it’s similar in many ways to the Wuyi style, with a roasty dark note, but is a bit lighter in flavor profile with more of a stonefruit vibe. I can dig it! Variations on a theme are always fun! This tea will steep up multiple times so make sure you have the time to savor your cup. The flavor notes change with each steep. For me, the stonefruit notes dropped away on the second and third steep leaving a more pure mineral quality. I love these earthy, terroir driven teas that beg for close sipping. I hope you enjoy it too! Happy Sipping!
In the magic woods
I follow the winding stream
Find a waterfall
I fill my cup there
Rich with sparkling minerals
A beautiful tea!
(Haiku Review)
Tis a warm spring day
With the sun shining brightly
When soft rain blows in
Yet the sun still shines
Magical spring misty rain
Warmed by the sun's rays
You toss off your shoes
Run outside to dance and splash
As rainbows sparkle
Yeah, this tea is that
Somehow evoking magic
By adding water
In the bag: Long twisted, dark brown, needle-like leaves of tea. Brittle.
On the nose (pre-steep): Dry firewood with the bark still on it. Oak, perhaps? Slightly fuzzy nose feel. Medium-to-mild intensity.
On the nose (post-steep): The scent has transformed from dry wood to wet wood. I mean the kind of wood that fell off a tree and then soaked in a puddle for a day. Also, an accent of unsweetened chocolate.
On the tongue: Flavor is similar to the post-steep scent. Woodsy flavor paired with an accent of unsweetened cocoa.
Opinion: A decent tea but not one that I will crave. I'm generally not enthralled with naked teas (plain teas without flavoring), so my palette is biased here.
Preparation: First steep 2.5 min, second steep 5 min. Both @ 195 ℉. No sweetener.
This is a heavier tasting oolong than I'm used to, yet it was very smooth. The mineral rock flavor had a bit of smokiness to it. I did not pick up any of the peachy honey notes, but this tea did not need it. Good solid, satisfying cup of O.
It was just all right. Much too earthy for my taste.
This is a robust Oolong tea. I love the mineral quality of this tea and look forward to multiple steeps.
This tea was a pleasant sipper with a smooth mineral taste with honeyed undertones. I was able to get multiple steeps from this one.
Unf, this is so good. Exactly what you want from an oolong; beautiful color, rich earth flavor but still slight buttery feeling over the tongue. I could drink this one every day!
A darker oolong than I normally go for, with a nice mineral flavor, and some minor astringency.
I'm not a fan of woody, mushroomy teas. Smelling it after I brewed it, I was afraid I'd wasted my money. But this is a great counterpoint to sweeter teas, a way of freshening the palate so that you don't become jaded by other teas. Whenever I look at my tea selection and can't decide what I want, I pick this and never regret it. Despite not being in one of my favored flavor spectra, I love this one and will definitely order again.
I’m a rally big fan of oolongs but this one was not my favorite but had a unique taste I found very interesting.
Glad I saw a recommendation for this online. Fujian rain is a solid tea at an affordable price
I usually do not like oolongs, but this one sounded intriguing and I am glad I tried it. Such a pleasantly unique and refreshing flavor. I think it might be one of my overall favorite teas now.
Delicious! Had to order more because it was so tasty.
Definitely getting the mineral taste mentioned in the product description. However I'm not noticing a whole lot of the apricots and spice. Instead I taste more flavors that remind me of roasted barley tea. Considering how closely it resembles Wuyi Oolong and the lower price I would recommend getting this instead of Wuyi.
An Okay tea, its good for everyday but honestly nothing about it really stands out to me. Not bad, but I prefer stronger and more unique flavors. Made gongfu style.
This tea is absolutely delicious. Will definitely purchase again.
A lovely straight tea flavor. This is one of my husband's and my favorite oolong teas. It is what I expect in an unflavored tea, crisp but does not feel astringent like some teas do.
This tea was too 'earthy'. I tried adding honey, but the flavor still reminded me of leaves and dirt.
