I feel like this is the taste of drinking wet rock with green tea. pretty good
This Shui Xian is a high fired, medium grade oolong with a rich-tasting amber cup and nuances of minerals, apricots and spice.

I feel like this is the taste of drinking wet rock with green tea. pretty good
I've been looking for an oolong with a super minerally aftertaste, like one I had in Shanghai. This is not it, but it is a really delicious tea. My search will continue, but in the meantime fujian rain is a delicious alternative to my usual green tea.
I love this one! I'm ordering more. It comes out a bit light, which I thought meant it wouldn't have a lot of flavor. But it is delightful!
Liked this. Like the look of the tea and the way it brews up, full, mellow and delicious.
Best enjoyed without anything added, these leaves are strong enough to make a second steeping without losing flavor or becoming bitter!
What an unusual tea! Really does taste like clean, sweet, rain.
Nice, smooth oolong, with a warm flavor and nice color. My mom used to make a tea very similar to this, but I couldn't find it any more. I was very happy when I brewed my first cup and was taken back to when my mom would make us tea.
Interesting taste, both sweet (I'm getting a strong peach vibe) and somewhat tart in an unexpected way... I guess that's the advertised 'minerality'. The unpredictability keeps me sipping!
My first taste of oolong was Adagio's Peach Oolong. I love it, so I thought a try another oolong. This one's only OK for me. I get a smoky flavor, somewhat like a lapsang soochong.
Tried this tea on a whim. Absolutely fantastic tea with a wonderful balance of creaminess and astringency
I cannot think of many better oolongs. It has TOUCHED MY SOUL.
Unlike some teas I have had that say they have a mineral element to the flavour, this tea is light enough to not overwhelm the other elements of the tea. It brews to a beautiful amber colour, smells of woods after rain and tastes like it too, but with a note of honey that sets it apart.
love the earthy/smokey taste of this tea, I have it in the mornings
Hooked from the beginning! I had a sample a while back and I loved it. It was really earthy, typical taste for a black tea, but it's got a full flavor with a distinct sweetness.
I love this tea and must get it again soon. It is such a dreamy, peaceful taste like rain and rocks.
This is a really nice cup or pot of tea. Mellow and lovely with some light fruity notes, I have been enjoying it every morning. I forgot it was an oolong as it behaves more like a black tea but definitely more mild than a breakfast blend. Will buy again...
What a nice surprise! I had not found an oxidized oolong that I really liked and I've tried almost all of them. Something about this really appealed to me. This one definitely reminds me of Chinese takeout.
The tea has a nice roasted and slightly sweet taste.
I normally will mix 2 oolong teas to make a custom blend.
Fujian Rain goes well with Formosa.
I first tried Fujain Rain from a sampler back in January 2014, then ordered 2 oz. back in December 2014. It pretty much immediately became my favorite tea, enough so that I bought bags of it to give to friends. Jump to October 2016 and I ordered some, craving tea as autumn rolls in.
Fujain Rain of now is a much different tea than it was at the end of 2014. Considerably diminished is the golden cup, now traded for a darker amber, dominant and soothing mineral flavors, light, almost dry fruit and mild vegetal flavors. The flavor is much more honey-ish now, though mineral flavors still come through in the finish, but the overall flavor reminds me much more of black tea than the mountain-stream-in-a-dream tea I remember.
Maybe future lots won't be as dark, so I'll try again next year.
I really prefer the darker oolongs, and this one is lovely. Well-rounded and robust, more evocative of a very smooth black tea like Irish breakfast.
I love this tea. It's not too strong and has to be one of my favorite oolong teas.
Not my favorite, but a solid cup of tea nonetheless.
Interesting flavors but well balanced. Enjoyed very much.
Really enjoyed this. A nice mellow tasting tea. Was very disappointed when I finished my sample pack.
Earthy, rocky, light mineral taste. Enjoyed morning and late evenjng, reflective. 2-3 steeps, longer and hotter to pull more flavor.
Oolong to me is a comforting flavor, and this one is no exception. I tend to use more leaves to brew a stronger cup... and was not disappointed with a 5-min brew on this one.
This is one of my favorite teas. It has a nice smoky and mineral flavor.
Wonderful, medium-gold cup of tea. Great afternoon pick-me-up.
I've made this a black staple in my little collection. For me this has been a better daily tea than say golden monkey or fujian encore. Both are good, but their flavors are more unique and found I could only really enjoy them occasionally. This tea I can consume daily before work.
I do not like this tea at all! Any type of flavor is nonexistent or best described as hot dirty foot bath water.
If I was stuck on a desert island given the choice of only this tea or store brand no flavor black tea ... give me the latter, because it would taste better!
Tastes like rain smells =), really nice hot or cold!
This is one of my favorites. It has a lighter flavor but it is delicious all on its own.
This tea has everything I want from a Wuyi oolong. Notes of apricot mingle with the distinctive 'mineral' quality of an oxidized oolong (drink it, you'll understand what I'm saying), with a long, lingering finish that I can only describe as 'marshmallow toasted over a fire.' I highly recommend it.
This was my first oolong tea, and it made a great impression. The earthy taste is soothing, and it's my favorite tea for studying.
This is a very light and wood-flavored tea. There are some delicate fruit notes to it as well.
Amazing! Woodsy, minerals, florals, this tea is super complex! Leans more towards black than green, it's full-bodied but still light. When I want something completely different, this is my go-to comfort tea.
clean, crisp tea taste. I enjoyed this slightly cooled for 20-30 minutes after brewing. I've added it to my work regimen for the afternoon.
I had liked Adagio's wu yi and ti kuan yin teas, so was interested to try this one...and wasn't surprised/disappointed. This one clearly has the mineral overtones I expect from oolong but moderated by mild fruity aromas. (not everyone likes this, and for me, cheap teas can be overwhelming.)
I was sue this was green tea. It tasted like a fancy green tea and not a black oolong. It has a green taste. Earthy, Kale and Moss and delicate green mouth feel with a hint of spicy. It's definitely an experience to have.
First oolong, I like it. It is delightfully fruity on the nose, and very smooth.
Delicious flavor and very smooth. Another favorite.
Great oolong! Perfect everyday tea. Prefer over the jade oolong
This tastes and smells just like fresh rain and earth, and since that is pretty much my favorite smell, it is topping my favorites list immediately. The leaves before brewing don't have an enjoyable smell in my opinion, but once brewed it smells very rich and earthy.
Lovely earthy, floral flavor - definitely reminds me of a rainforest!
Delicate and minerally. I think I like it, and may find with as my palate develops that I love it.
This was a good tea. I thought it might brew darker but it was pretty light. I am enjoying it.
A very mellow tea that has become my favorite oolong.
Very pleasant dark oolong. Not too green and a nice deviation from my normal black teas.
Another great oolong tea. I love drinking this on rainy days just because 'rain' is in the name. This is a tea you can drink any time of the day. It has a good balance and flavor.
a light flavor to savor any time of day. I think of a rain forest when I drink this tea. Oh, I fell in love with this tea while reading in the afternoon. Not strong enough for me in the mornings.
