nutty and robust dark oolong from the fujian province that is reminiscent of the wuyi rock teas.
This Shui Xian is a high fired, medium grade oolong with a rich-tasting amber cup and nuances of minerals, apricots and spice.

I've grown to love this one as I am a fan of oolong teas.
I loved the deep and earthy taste of this tea, it was almost similar to leather in my mind. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the nutty notes, that many darker Oolongs have, present themselves more towards the end of the cup. If you like earthy and nutty teas, then I highly recommend it.
I normally don't drink Black Tea, but bought this one and really love it. It is not tannic-y, and is very smooth. It's a tea I enjoy in the morning.
At first I wasn t sure what to think of this tea, but as I tried it another time I found that it s pretty good. It brews a well-rounded cup that takes well to cream. A good go to when you re not looking for something super fancy, though I personally prefer flavored teas.
Exactly what I'm looking for in an oolong tea. Perfect for resteeping too!
Ok. So I have not tried an oolong that I have liked, this however, is AMAZING! Minerals?? What?? It s so light and tastes so crisp, despite being a hot tea. I d recommend this to anyone. I ll definitely have to buy a larger amount next time cause I think I m going to go through this quickly.
This oolong is very peculiar. It's a little woody and spicy like I expected, but it's very minerally too. It makes me think of petrichor, which perfectly suits its name.
This oolong had a light but pleasant flavor. I would recommend planning to drink this tea after a meal, but not necessarily if you are looking for a breakfast tea. In addition, I think the light flavor is best if taken alone without any additive or food.
This is the first time I brewed this as iced tea. Strong and sophisticated-love the hint of smokiness that remains with each drink!
It's a mild oolong with not too mineral of flavor. I'm just not too big of an oolong fan afterall! But I think if you like oolong, you will like this one
Nice oolong. Has a complexity which I like in oolongs. Each steeping of the leaves reveals different flavors. Very nice.
This is an oolong tea; liquor is medium-dark, aroma of fruit and a little spice. Be careful not to oversteep it; two minutes is perfect, but three minutes brings out an astringent and metallic flavor.
The last time I bought Oolongs from Adagio, they in no way resembled or tasted like oolongs. Since then, they've added a wide array of actual Oolongs. Fujian Rain instantly caught me eye. This tea tastes how an oolong should taste: delicious. Woodsy and roasted, complex and simple. Don't pass this tea up!
This was my first ever oolong I am definitely sold. I was first impressed by the size and shape of the tea leaves-- huge and beautiful loose twists. I rinsed the leaves and brewed until it was an orange colour. I've done two steeps with no change in strength or flavour, so it could probably handle another steep or two. It tastes fresh but not grassy, very earthy, with no bitterness. It's almost like a combination of everything good about green and black tea put into one cup.
Fujian Rain is ok for my taste,Fujian Rain is not as tradition type oolong teas which is a plus but also tea downfall. I do not drink a lot of oolong but Fujian Rain has give me alternative tea to drink once in awhile.
Enjoyed this tea. I don't know if it was subliminal from the name, or real, but the tea reminded me of a fresh fallen rainfall. Definitely had a mineral flavor, not a strong typical black tea taste, but there was something nice with this one.
Very lovely oolong tea, almost grassy flavor to it.
A very nice dark oolong for the price. Nice long leaves. Excellent mineral-ly sample.
Entirely appropriate name. At 185ยบ for 3 minutes after a wash and filter Fujian Rain is nothing if not a sanctifying experience. From the moment this blessed beverage touches your unworthy tongue you will be transported through time and space, into a dimension where the Fujian province is all of reality. In this reality you bask listlessly in a pool of flowing tea under a rainstorm of golden-green Oolong goodness, like a spirit panda of serenity and libationary unity. Sadly, all good things must come to an end in this finite universe, and when your tea runs out you will be dragged back into the cold grey clutches of a space without light and sound and tea... Until you order more Fujian Rain.
A tasy dark tea with surprisingly little bitterness. Will probably get some more.
Warm, smooth and slightly nutty are what I get from this tea. It's a nice medium strength oolong.
A good tea staple. Tried this out as a sample and am not disappointed to have it in my cabinet.
This wonderful oolong has the rich earthy quality that I enjoy. It is very easy to brew as it isn't terribly sensitive to temperatures. What I have found works best for me is to bring the water to a boil, turn off the heat, then wait about 40 seconds to a minute before pouring over the leaves. It is on the darker side of oolongs but without a high level of caffeine so can easily be enjoyed all through the day. I would recommend this to beginning tea drinkers as well as those who have enjoyed a good cup of tea for years.
I enjoyed this tea, but did not find anything particularly unique about it. Definitely a good staple.
This is really good for multiple steeps. Lots of flavors going on in this one.
Nice and rich. Has a hint of some floral hints and a nice mineral notes with a sweet finish.
This lovely tea has a great strength to it, and its aftertaste is very reminiscent of apricots.
This tea is so-so. It's drinkable but I don't find it particularly remarkable.
Fujian Rain is a good, solid dark oolong very similar to what I have had at Chinese restaurants. If nostalgia is your thing, then by all means. That said, there wasn't really anything special about it. The second steep was much like the first. I personally prefer Formosa Oolong and Oh Darjeeling, both of which have more complex flavors.
a wonderful green tea! Nice smooth flavor, good any time of day.
'Fujian rain' is definitely an appropriate name for this tea. At first steep, the watery mineral taste is very dominant. It reminds me of the scent of newly fallen rain and damp earth. On second steep, the sweet apricot and spice notes are much more apparent. This is a very interesting and complex tea.
71/100
This was my first oolong tea, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend.
Better than the cheap oolongs, fall leaves, hay, mineral
Really smooth. Nothing bitter about this one. Highly recommended
Definitely one of my top favorites I will be buying in bulk!
This tea is a carbon copy of the Oolong they would bring out in a big pot at my favorite Dim Sum restaurant. It's rich and brothy and won't go bitter if you lose track of time and oversteep it for a minute.
I almost didn't steep this tea a second time, but after reading the reviews I did. And boy am I glad! The first cup has a toasted flavor you can smell and taste. The mineral taste, for me, was more of an after-taste that lingers- like the taste of rain! The second cup was a bit more refined. The mineral taste remained, but the toasted flavor lessoned brining out the crispness of the leaves. Very solid tea that has a moderately heavy appeal!
Adagio's description for this tea is spot-on. Peachy and Mineraly. I brewed a big pot of this and stretched it over the day and couldn't help but find myself slipping into a meditative state after each cup. Alas, I haven't seen Adagio carry the 3oz bags in a long time and I'm afraid this may disappear.
I find it really hard to describe this tea. I think it tastes a bit more fruity than mineral-y, despite the description on the product page. I'm really enjoying it though.
It was an unexpected, pleasing flavor. I'll definitely order it again.
One of my favorite teas. Its mineral qualities are a very satisfying alternative to the rich blacks that I like (the yunnan teas) as well as the sharp greens.
SUPER delicious everyday oolong. I drink a cup each morning. Earthy, balanced, delicious.
Just the slightest bit smoky and very difficult to oversteep. One huge bag lives at home and one at the office so as to never be without.
Dried tea leaves have a heavy spinach and woodsy / mossy nose. While steeping, the smell is of intense minerals and grass. Very potent. To the first cup I brewed, I added a scant teaspoon of lemon juice, thinking it would balance out the flavors. Instead, it completely masked the (big) cup of tea, and resulted in me tossing it out. I made a second cup from the same leaves. While the first cup came out a medium amber color, the second cup came out a very pale golden. The flavor was very subdued, and tasted of peaches, honey and woods. It was far to faint a taste for my personal tastes. Thus, I brewed a fresh cup with new leaves.
Third time was truly a charm with this tea! I did add a cap-full of milk, which I felt gave it an appealing mouthfeel. The brew has a nice deep syrup profile, similar to figs or raisins. This is complimented with the brew's nice body, with tastes of cream and oak. It has an incredibly smooth, non-astringent finish.
I ordered this sample because Fujian Baroque is one of my absolute favorites. Like Baroque, this Fujian has not left me disappointed.
My old teamaker burned out, and fujian has tasted so much better in the new one. Try it
While I love the fujian baroque, this fujian rain was way too floral for me.
I like this tea a lot. It's a little fruity and flowery and holds up to a second brewing.
I think I just love every oolong tea I try. The 'mineral taste' made me a bit hesitant to try this one but that's not even really what it tasted like to me. I'll probably get more of this.
