Ceremonial grade matcha, that is delightful and a decent price? I adore Adagio!
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

Ceremonial grade matcha, that is delightful and a decent price? I adore Adagio!
While not top-grade, this is a very good matcha that has a great texture and flavor.
Great for those who know real Japanese Green Tea! My first taste gave me the image of sitting on a hill in tall grasses.
Purchased as a gift. I used some of the matcha to make some custom dark chocolates to go with the remainder as a set. The receiver thoroughly enjoyed both. ^_^
I love having this matcha in the morning it is a great pick me up and has a nice grassy fresh aroma and taste.
I don't know matcha as well as I'd want to, but this tea is how I imagined a good matcha tastes. Slightly grassy, very fresh- it wasn't bitter at all. Vibrant color and such a relaxing aroma. My biggest complaint is that no matter who long I blended with my little whisk, I couldn't get rid of every lump. Not a bad thing I suppose, it got a really great froth. I'd buy again.
Loved the matcha purchased at Adagio Tea. Great help and instructions regarding temp of water and how to prepare. My daughter and I both like the savory grassy notes. Highly recommend especially for someone looking to improve their health.
I can't seem to go wrong with this tea. It's smooth, a bit vegetal and a bit nutty. All my favorite things. The tea is a beautiful green - my husband asked if I was drinking a green vegetable smoothie. This is my new morning tea.
At first I was skeptical about ordering the matcha tea because I was worried about how it would taste, I am glad I ordered it because it was absolutely phenomenal.
I have tried this in several different ways and have enjoyed all of them!
This is the first matcha tea I have ever bought, so I am by no means an expert. I watched some videos on how to prepare it, and so far I have not experienced much bitterness with this tea. The taste is pretty mild, and grassy. This tea gives me more energy and mental clarity than any tea I've had.
Matcha is great, and this is a great matcha. It has a very vegetal taste, reminding me almost of spinach. I definitely recommend getting a matcha whisk. I improvised with a milk frother until my whisk came in (as Adagio ran out and was unable to deliver mine, thus I had to buy off Amazon) and it made a huge difference! The tea powder is so light and fluffy.. it will make a mess if you aren't careful!
Let me first start off with the fact that I don't think I brewed it right. XD It was veeerry strong, and smelled like cabbage. But tasted like nice green tea. :3
I'm not a fan of straight up matcha. So I typically use this in my baking or smothies for a little pick me up.
It lacks umami. Not all together horrible, just not fantastic on its own. It's just a tad bitter and doesn't have much of an aftertaste. Well priced for something to be used in a recipe or smoothie though.
It's not the best matcha I have ever had. It doesn't dissolve the greatest, even after stirring and frothing.
This is a good Matcha tea. Not strong tasting or over powering. I drink mine straight without anything added and still doesn't taste too strong for me.
Bought this to use for green tea lattes and the taste is fantastic. However, the powder refuses to dissolve completely and tends to settle at the bottom of my mug instead of infusing my milk. I may need to experiment with preparation but my usual method has failed.
This is the first time I ever tried matcha, so I didn't quite know what to expect, as I was hoping to get into making matcha lattes at home so I didn't spend fifty bucks a week at Starbucks or something like that. The reason this is a 'good' and not a 'great' is because I'm personally not used to more bitter teas like matcha so I can't really drink it straight yet. Another issue that is more my fault than anything else: now I have green powder EVERYWHERE in my kitchen!
Great Matcha, great price. I buy the one pound bags and drink it every day.
I love the quality of this matcha. I use it in smoothies as well and the taste is mild and delicious. Whenever I drink matcha, I get a natural energy boost and this matcha does not disappoint.
Is there anything matcha can't do? Maybe clean my car. But then again, matcha probably could. Matcha is amazing, and Adagio does matcha right.
the best matcha purchased anywhere just wish you sold in the store larger amounts and kept it in stock more.
I keep buying green tea and keep hoping that i'll like it. It never seems to happen. If you're into green tea you'd probably like this.
Matcha tea smells fantastic. If anyone has ever had the ice cream it is similar to that. Close to spearmint. It's an enjoyable and healthy cup which mostly dissolved (but not entirely).
This was my first time ordering any form of Matcha so I do not have a whole lot to compare it to besides my Green tea frappuchinos I have been obsessed with. I like the fact that this Matcha is from Japan and the little tin it comes in is great! This Matcha is not at all sweet which makes me think it is not the Tencha form. A bit pricey for what you get but definitely saved in the long run of buying drinks daily.
I had been itching to try matcha for a while as it is one tea experience I had yet to have. I was by no means disappointed. Green tea is often difficult for me to brew correctly as I often oversteep it and cause the tea to be bitter or understeep and lose the flavor. Not so with matcha. All I had to do was mix in the powder and I had full flavored green tea with deep grassy notes and a bold, rich color. I recommend this to any green tea lover.
I'm new to Matcha tea, and didnt want to waste my money and time shopping elsewhere. I use it to make a Matcha Latte, and it is quite good. It blends fairly well and you can see it is high quality due to its bold color.
Adagio's matcha has a lovely, smooth flavor. It is a great alternative to your morning coffee. I would definitely recommend it to others.
I've never had matcha tea before, so I can't say much about how its quality compares to others. I can assume its pretty good though. Its a nice true green color and very finely ground. I could not see any stems or anything other than pure matcha powder. It comes in a tin container rather than a resealable bag, which is nice. The powder is so fine that when you take off the cover, green smoke comes from the canister. The price is very much worth it as well.
The only other matcha tea I've had is from a chain coffee shop, and it does not compare to the quality of adagio's. It holds up on its own without any sweeteners, but it's truly delicious with a little bit of sweetener.
I don't have much experience with matcha, but it seems that this is a good quality tea. It is more finely ground than others I have seen and is a very bright green. On other sites people seem to have trouble with bitterness, but as long as you brew at 180 F or below, this tea is sweeter. You also don't need the extra equipment like a special bowl or whisk, you can achieve the desirable froth by even whipping it with a chopstick. Use 1 teaspoon matcha with a little water in the bottom of a mug and whip till frothy, then mix with the rest of the water and it is good to go!
This is my first experience with matcha and, although I'm sure I'm preparing it incorrectly, I enjoy it a great deal.
Very good, exactly what I want out of a matcha with the right taste and texture. It frothed up well when I whisked it and the color was just right.
Brewed hot, this tea has a buttery smooth finish that is delightful.
One of my favorite Teas, this is an amazing flavor
This is the first time that I have tried this matcha and find that the taste to be very good. I like making green tea lattes with this matcha. I think it's a great price for what you get.
Maybe it's me, but I wasn't that impressed by this. I suspect after practice at making this, my impression of it will improve.
This is my first matcha experience (other than cooking matcha for desserts) and I am glad that I went with the adagio version. I sampled it at the physical store and knew I needed to have it.
I'm a newcomer to matcha. So far, I'm finding I don't enjoy the taste.
have to develop a taste. Know it's healthy so I add it to all my teas. the first few times I felt jittery, but now I feel really good
Pricey, as all matcha is, but a good quality. I use steamed milk and a bit of local honey to make a 'hotcha' with it and it's quite good! Creamy, fresh (it is made from leaves!), and comforting.
Really good to drink by itself or mix it with another tea!
Best matcha tea ever! Gorgeous green color, great taste. Tons of energy with no crash. Not too many clumps.
I just can't see what the buzz is about this tea, I watched various youtube videos on how to make and I just didn't care for the taste of the tea.
It's the only tea of many teas from Adagio that I didn't care for.
Smooth taste and alkalizing. This is a reasonably priced matcha tea (considering they are all pricey).
Matcha has an excellent flavor and makes a great green tea latte!
I was hesitant at first but found this to be a delightful twist on traditional tea.
If you like green tea but have never tried matcha, this is where to do it!
This tea was purchased for my Japanese mother-in-law. She found the consistency of the tea odd, but liked the flavor.
