Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

I can certainly recommend giving this matcha a try. With no astringency or bitterness, the flavor is extremely intense and complex. Depending what mood you are in, this can be a good or bad thing. It's the type of tea you'll probably enjoy on certain occasions but not all the time.
I should also mention that it's delicious in fruit smoothies.
I feel the benefits of Matcha every day ... it brightens my day and I focus better at work when I have a cup in the morning. I mix it with Puerr Spice (because I don't like the earthy smell of matcha) ... thank you, Lisa, for the recommendation!
Very good! A bit hard to get it to mix without clumping up on the spoon but the taste is very earthy and delicious.
Oh my goodness, if you have not tried this yet your body will thank you until the end of your days. Very strong and acquired taste but it is so worth it. It's like 10 cups of green tea in 2 ounces of brewed tea. Try mixing it with chamomile or your favorite tea!
My favorite matcha anywhere. I drink it every day with a little almond milk. What a treat.

This is a beautifully bright, rich green - excellent cuppa.
Mixing this well takes a bit of practice, but it works well in lattes. I mix a scant teaspoon of the powder with about 1/4C of boiled water, then top with warmed milk and a bit of milk foam. Comparable to a matcha latte from a good cafe.

Love this tea! It has been very effective in releiving stress for me (especially college-related stress). The color is a very bright green, it looks and tastes very fresh. However to keep it that way, I suggest keeping the tin in your freezer, it's extended the life of my matcha significantly
I only wish the container would have a plastic seal when it was shipped. I had some matcha dust outside the container and in the box when I got this. Otherwise, the matcha top quality. It still gets a great rating.
I just don't care for the taste of this tea. I guess I need to look up recipes for this that mask the very green flavor.
I had not experienced matcha before ordering from your company, but it arrived in a nice little tin that keeps the (very fine) powder contained nicely. Very nice, pretty green color with a nice light flavor.
I love matcha! It has a great flavor, and I enjoy drinking it. I'm new to matcha, and I've never tried it before this. I was a tad reluctant to try it, but I'm so glad I did! It's my new favorite now!
My hubby and I really like it. We had purchased some from another source and it was ok. The one from Adagio is a much brighter green and tastes a lot better. I have read that the brighter green the better the quality. We are very happy.
I've never made matcha before, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I thought this was delicious. It's a deep emerald green, not the pale green you get from big bags of matcha at the Asian grocery (which I've used in cooking). A beautiful flavor, no bitterness. I've been making it iced by whisking hot (well below boiling) water into a teaspoon of powder, then adding water and ice.
Love the energy boost it gives, VERY helpful associate showed us just how to make it.

I've been trying various matchas over the last few weeks. Both in tea/coffee houses and at home. This one is by far the finest I've had the pleasure of tasting so far. I also bought a small quantity from the Republic of Tea and by comparison their tea was less vibrant, less aromatic, less flavorful, and more bitter. I also got less for my money--so it's really a no brainer. Adagio is where I'll be buying my matcha from now on.
This matcha looks just like it should--bright emerald green, fresh, aromatic, sweet. Foams up beautifully. Absolutely delicious. I'll be buying a larger quantity next time!

I really don't think that green tea is Adagio's forte, and this matcha didn't change that impression at all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good, either - just a fairly bland matcha. The price was fairly decent for matcha, but I won't be ordering it again.

I don't actually have much experience with preparing matcha on my own before, but this seems comparable to drinks I've had from local coffee shops. I also made mochi using this matcha and it was absolutely delicious! I actually intend to use this for cooking more than drinking, and it works great for that!
I was very excited to try this tea out. I'm a big fan of this type of tea. Loved the flavor. I will probably need to get the whisk to get a better blend of the powder. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.
This stuff is phenomenal. Before purchasing, I read up on the benefits of pure matcha tea and had to try it. It does have an earthy taste to it, but I really like it. I also love the fact that you can add it to different drinks without it being overbearing in taste. I love making matcha lattes and smoothies.

I think I made this incorrectly- I found it to be bitter and astringent unlike other matchas I have tried.
I have fallen in love with this super tea. It does not have a normal green tea flavor. Im frim texas and it taste more like un sweet tea. It is great iced add some mint and lime its the perfect refresher. Or keep up your healthy breakfast smoothy with a scoop.

I start almost every day with a whisked bowl of matcha. It's one of my necessities and this matcha from Adagio doesn't fail to live up to my expectations. Another way I love to make it is to prepare the matcha in a large pot, then add mint leaves and let steep another few minutes, then stir in a bit of honey, strain out the leaves, chill, and serve over ice. Delicious!
Although it is a bit earthy and 'green' tasting, it has been a wonderful substitute for coffee. I am also excited by all of the health benefits I have heard about with regards to this tea. Very nice!
Now part of my daily routine, I feel rejuvenated after a cup of this in the morning. I love the ritual of preparing it as well. Expensive but really worth it in my opinion. Don't add too much water!

My husband and friends keep trying to sell me on the virtues of wheat grass, and in theory, I agree. HOWEVER, it makes me gag. Matcha tastes great. (I like to mix it up in some cooled down mango green.) More importantly, it clears my head, doesn't make my heart race like coffee can, and has so many antioxidants, I never have to feel guilty passing on a shot of wheat grass again!!
Really good flavor. It needs to be stirred well even as you drink it to keep the powder suspended. I might order again but it's pretty pricey.
