This matcha is excellent. It's my afternoon pick-me-up!
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

This matcha is excellent. It's my afternoon pick-me-up!
Excellent vegetal taste and works great as a pick me up as well..
I've had smoother ceremonial matcha grade tea before. This is an okay matcha. You do get more for your money compared to other ceremonial grade matchas, which is a plus. I use this to mix with smoothies as it is too grassy to drink on it's own in my opinion
I love this matcha!!! It's the least bitter matcha I've tried and I've been drinking it at least twice a day since I ordered the sample. This is going to be a regular order for me now. YUM! My only complaint would be that there's no size to order between the 2oz tin and the 16oz bag.
After considerable research on line, matcha tea is considered to have a lot of health benefits. It was for that reason that we purchased tea that would otherwise have been out of our price range. While the taste is mild and distinctive we feel it is worth purchasing and are looking forward to receiving the new flavored matcha teas now being offered.
Tasty, but not the greatest matcha out there.
Strange too look at. Tastes fresh, like spring. A whole new world of tea as opened up for me with this.
I'm new to matcha but this was delicious in my opinion. Great balanced flavor, none of the harsh grassiness I've found in Japanese green teas previously, and a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. Only downside is the price, but I will definitely keep having it now and again as a treat.
My first experience with matcha and I think I am in love. Such a great flavor which is fantastic on it's own mixed with water or made into a latte with non-dairy milk.
This tea requires a more involved process to prepare, but if you pour and whisk is right, it's a very singular cup.
Still trying to get the hang of making matcha to my liking. Liked the quality of adagio's matcha better than previous brands.
Fantastically vegetal and fragrant. Not too bitter and completely versatile.
Recently discovered Matcha and am loving it. I also add to healthy smoothies!
good Matcha, very creamy, expensive but worth it...
Delicious! A must try. Definitely worth the price!
Velvety smooth with a quick dissolve. I love this earthy, soft tea that imparts such a rich flavor. My favorite is soy milk, a splash of vanilla syrup mixed with the Matcha.
I'm fairly new to Matcha: I got some for my birthday from a friend and loved it. I reordered some from Adagio and was amazed at how spectacular it is: it's much sweeter, smoother and in a word: delightful. With the original stuff I had to put sweetener in it so handle the slight bitterness but Adagio's is so smooth it requires nothing. I add a little unsweetened Almond milk and a touch of stevia to make it a desert drink.
Amazingly, since I have started drinking Matcha I have had absolutely no craving, no desire to drink coffee and I have been a coffee-snob, hard-core-every-morning-without-fail coffee-drinker for so many years I cannot count.
But as for the caffeine: yes there is some but it doesn't affect me (or any of my friends) like coffee does: It gives energy and then dissipates. But there is no 'buzz' or 'crash' like occurs after coffee (at least my coffee that is!)
I did not like this one at all. Reminded me of cooked spinach - I think it was the chlorophyll.
This was my first experience with matcha. It's a strong tea, but I greatly enjoy it! The only downside is that it's a little pricey, but I'd still buy it again!
I make matcha every morning before work. Really kick starts my day!
This was very good, and if you are looking for a pick me up, look no further! Just would like to add if you get a sample to try, tap it very well to settle the powder, or you'll have a cup of teas worth of matcha fly all over! Just a heads up!
This is the best matcha I ever bought from any store. I enjoy it both hot and cold .
For starters, if you get the sampler, be very very careful when you open it. I tried to shake it all down in the packet, but still had a matcha explosion everywhere. :( As for the tea itself, it was just okay. The flavor reminded me of a solid green times ten. Seems to be a quality product, I just don't think matcha is my cup of tea (haha). I prefer something not as strong.
I didn't really like it, but I don't hold that against Adagio's version specifically. This was my first time trying matcha, and I think I just don't like matcha in general! =P
Amazing! I have replaced my afternoon coffee with a cup of matcha and have never felt better. Nice 'green', refreshing flavor
Tasted good with coconut milk and honey - would recommend it!
Matcha is good in small doses. I've been drinking about a half serving, otherwise I get crazy on the caffeine!
I bought matcha for the first time. I love the really grassy, green Japanese teas, so I figured I wouldn't have trouble adjusting to the intensity of matcha. I was right - it was a treat! I tried a bit of it alone first, with some hot water just to taste, and then I mixed the rest with my favorite Japanese tea, kukicha. I loved the amped up vegetal taste. And the matcha, as others have said, is a lovely bright green color.
use it in our cafe... people that know matcha appreciate the quality
A very nice tea. Never having tried this type of tea before, I wasn't sure what to expect. It is now in my daily tea rotation.
My first matcha (so I'm not one to judge). Wish they had instructions on how to make it
Bought the peach matcha, and LOVE IT!! So far i've only had it hot, but look forward to making non-dairy smoothies with it this spring.
Love matcha tea! I had never had it before, but now I look forward to my first cup of the day and then throughout the day. I bought glass tea cups so I could enjoy the bright and beautiful green matcha tea and not hide it behind china.
Another impulse purchase but Surprise, it does what it says it does. I feel more energetic when drinking it. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, but worth it!
My first experience with Matcha, but I am really growing to like this! If you've never brewed this before, be sure to follow what's offered on the Adagio site. Just about a 1/4 tsp is all you'll need for a cup. I bought the wisk to make it as authentically as possible. Vegetal and sweet!
A really nice drinking grade matcha--great if you've never had matcha before.
This tea mixes really well, very fresh and bright
Regular matcha tea ... just as expected for a good cuppa
Matcha is always wonderful and this is no exception
Average matcha. I would spend a little more and go for a more premium grade.
This is my first time trying matcha, so I have nothing to compare it with. I liked the bright green color both before and after brewing. I sifted and whisked the powder as I had found to be recommended elsewhere. The taste as unremarkable to me, simply a green tea taste, which makes sense! I may have brewed it too strong because afterwards I felt like I had just had a shot of espresso, and I don't care for that caffeine rush.
This tea is great, takes time to get adjusted to the taste but on my wellness checkup, all my vitals have returned to normal, this tea has changed my health concerns.
I've begun drinking matcha as opposed to my normal morning cup of coffee for a nice balanced caffeine kick that doesn't make me jittery/anxious. This tasted great(almost spinachy) and mixed well.
Even though I followed the instructions and looked at many videos on how to make this stuff, it never came out right.
While I don't LOVE the taste, I love it for its healthy attributes. I brew it with Chestnut tea.
Definitely a very high quality matcha. I really enjoyed it.
gives good energy and great for mixing with! dont like it to much on its own
Very good and smooth flavored tea. Looking forward to the benefits
Got this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loved it!
Matcha is my nutrition necessity! I put a teaspoon in my smoothie every morning. This is one of my nutritional superfoods! Can't do without.
