Just got this today and could not wait to try it! I made a matcha green tea latte and it was great. This is my new favorite tea!
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

I've recently stepped back into the matcha world as an alternative to coffee. I make this every single morning for an energy & mood boost with water, almond milk, and stevia and it is hands down my favorite. I ordered the larger supply this time around because it's such a good deal for the quality and I know I'll be using it. I don't think you can beat the price for something so beneficial and easy. Best part of my morning!
I never received the tea and Adagio shipped it to New York more than a week after I placed the order. We don't live in New York. They told me to file a claim with the shipper for a refund.
Best Matcha available. Look no further. I like it both alone and mixing in pearls. However, my favorite is to mix it with Earl Grey Bravo!
Makes some great iced cold and creamy matcha lattes.
my daughter is a matcha drinker and get this for her. She loves it and says it is better that a few other she has tried.
Very subtle, and delightful.i normally don't 'do' matcha, but this one is a winner!!
My prefered way to start the day. Extra thick with a side of lemon tea.
Perfect for iced and hot drinks, I have even made great smoothies with it
I couldn't choose between unflavored matcha and a flavored version, so I got one of each. I like them both, but I had to experiment a little with the tea/water ratio to find the perfect flavor. I like to drink mine iced!
I m new to matcha, so I trusted Adagio to lead me in the right direction. As is everything else they do, this matcha tea is excellent. This might be my new morning go-to.
I guess I am just not a matcha fan. I really wanted to like this tea but I didn't care for it. It's probably not adagio's fault, I'm sure the quality of the tea was fine for those who like matcha.
Love this stuff. Untouched pure matcha. Definitely high quality. Has a very bright green color to it which indicates that it is high quality. The flavor is deep with long lasting grassy flavors and a warm green tea-esque finish. Drink it fast before it cools down too much!
It is definitely good quality, however can sometimes be difficult to make properly.
Absolutely delicious. Make sure you don't overheat the water though. My first cup was a little bitter.
I bought this tea as a gift for my daughter. She has tried other brands of matcha tea, but Adagio matcha is the best, she says.
This is awesome any way you want it. Latte, tea, in baking. Just perfect.
Oh my goodness, I love matcha! A friend gave me a sample of this to try, and now I am ordering the 16oz bag. It s wonderful for drinking, and now I am also finding culinary uses for it as well.
A beautiful ceremonial grade matcha! The tin is much bigger than I expected, coming from teavana. It's great for the price. I've been thrilled with the flavored matchas, and had to spring for the original too. Not disappointed in the least. Absolutely will buy again.
I quite like it! It's a bit of a bother to have to whisk it as you drink because it does settle. But other than that the flavor is nice, mellow and slightly vegetable-ish. I find I like it made a little weaker than instructed.
First of all, I was SO impressed with the color of this matcha! It was so beautiful and packaged in such a gorgeous way. When I made it, the color of the tea was so vibrant I knew it must be good--and it WAS! I add a little honey to it and drink it in place of coffee in the morning and it makes my day so much better.
This goes directly into my shaker bottle for the cleanest preworkout ever.
It's good! In truth it's kind of a pain in the butt to make, but it's worth it if you like the flavor. I like to make it strong, then pour over ice
I haven’t been making my teas as strong as I would like because I’m savoring my sample. But, it has a lot of pure, strong green tea flavor on its own ( I tend to mellow it out with milk). A little goes a long way.
I enjoyed this Matcha very much. It has a nice smooth taste which I personally feel is enjoyable hot and even as it cools.
I've prepared this tea several ways. I like heating my water to about 175F and letting it cool a bit. That way, this tea does not taste too vegetal, at least to me.
As far as preparation goes, I'm sorry but investing in a matcha bowl and the chasen (the bamboo whisk) tastes best. BUT if you don't want to go that route or you can't, at the lease invest in a milk frother. The frother method is a close close enough second to tradition where taste does not go down the drain.
I must also add that a small fine mesh strainer is also a good idea for this tea. Matcha tends to be a bit clumpy and shaking it through a strainer helps break the clumps up, which makes for easier preparation and a better end result.
This was my first time ever having matcha tea, and I can say I really enjoyed it after I figured out how to whisk the tea in properly. Very smooth and a good flavor! Not to mention the color is absolutely beautiful!
A good “normal occasion” matcha. Quite a few steps up from what you can find in a grocery or cost plus world market. Great value.
Quality Matcha, will definitely re-order soon, I prepared it properly (via whisking) and it was very pleasant, not too bitter, yet full of the Matcha flavor I love.
Very smooth and slightly sweet with no bitterness at all. Used to only drink Teavana Matcha green tea, but have had to try other brands since it went out of business and this one has been the best so far. Will keep ordering this one and hopefully Adagio will stay in business for a long time with the same quality!
Bought a sample of this with a large tin of the higher grade. This matcha really stands up! No bitterness at all! Smooth & potent :) Love it!!! Buying the largest tin!
Really high quality matcha, turns a dark dark green when made
I've been making too many matcha green tea lattes after getting this. The quality for the price is really great!
A really great green tea flavor. A bit strong, which I like!
The Matcha is one of my very favorite teas. Tastes so 'authentic.'
Drinking this right now, it’s my perfect way to start the day! It’s a delicious flavor, I mix it in my blender with water, a splash of coconut milk, cinnamon and coconut oil.
Loving this, and coming back to order some for my mama who loves it too!
Matcha is not for me. It tasted like ground up leaves, which it is, essentially. This is not a commentary on the quality of this matcha. Simply my discovery that matcha is not something I enjoy drinking.
Great matcha. I'm going to replenish with Adagio regularly.
very wonderful in water or as an add in to recipies
Wonderful! Matcha is a favorite and Adiago doesn't disappoint with their quality!
I gave this as a gift and was well received. This is on my short list for my next order—for myself!
The quality is amazing and makes great matcha lattes. I would recommend a whisk though.
I can t speak to this matcha s quality in the grand scheme of things, but it certainly is tasty! I have some trouble preparing it without green floating clumps remaining after I mix in water, though I bet that has more to do with my inexperience than the quality of the matcha.
Not my favorite matcha, though the quality may have been affected by the lid of the tin coming loose during shipping and scattering powder all over the place.
I love this tea! I've purchased matcha from other vendors but always come back to Adagio as the quality is far superior.
I ve tried many matchas, and found that Adagio sources the best tea. It has a that perfect fresh, earthy matcha flavor, great color, and excellent froth when whisked in a matcha bowl.
Slightly less bitter than other brands. It has a pleasant dark green color to it that reminds me of forest moss green.
I bought this because I ran out of Teavana matcha. I was very pleased and actually prefer this one. I always mix my matcha with other things so I can't speak completely for the flavour, but the colour is a nice vibrant green.
Delightfully grassy refreshing ! Slightly less product than I was expecting but good for the quality.
