Matcha Customer Reviews

Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

★★★★☆

the tea is more bland than more expensive ceremonial matchas. However it has a pleasant good quality creamy texture!

★★★★☆

I have never tried Matcha before this one. It's not gross like I thought it was going to be.

★★★★★

This was my first matcha tea. I got a bamboo whisk for it and it really made a difference. I like to prep it with milk and add a teaspoon of caramelized milk for flavor.

★★★★★

Excellent quality matcha. Will be purchasing again.

Just how I remembered from Japan. While an aquired taste, you have to try it at least once.

★★★★★

Good matcha! I'm not too familiar with other powders, but I like the packaging it comes in and the flavor is classic. I didn't buy a kit or have fancy matcha wares so usually put a little less than a teaspoon into a regular coffee mug. When the water is boiled, I pour a little water over the powder. I use a regular whisk to whisk everything together into a matcha/water concentrate. When everything seems 'dissolved' then I add more water and then whisk it a few more times. It works out really well every time and I don't have too much matcha powder sitting at the bottom when I'm done.

Not really sure what to do with this yet, but seems promising

★★★★★

This powder is a different experience of tea drinking. Great in smoothies. Many health benefits!

★★★★☆

Gift to my son in law for fixing my computer. It was his first matcha experience — he liked it

★★★★★

This stuff is amazing! I cold brew it at least once a day. I use .5 tsp per 8oz in a Mason jar, fill it halfway with water, put on the lid and shake it like crazy. Then I fill it the rest of the way and enjoy some beautifully blended matcha!

★★★★★

I'd only ever had latte-ed up versions of matcha before trying this one, so I figured I'd give it a go.

I will never latte my matcha again. Love.

★★★★★

Matcha has a very distinct taste, full bodied and memorable. Recommend going all the way and getting a traditional bowl and bamboo whisk.

★★★★★

This Matcha green tea of Adagio Teas is fantastic. Good quality Match a at a good price. The sales person helped me greatly in my purchase.

★★★★★

Love this matcha. I request it for xmas every year and buy some for myself in addition to that gift!

★★★★★

Wow, this is so good. Creamy, sweet and grassy. I made it as a latte with a touch of honey. I'm addicted.

It's hard to find quality matcha. This isn't the best I've had, but it's pretty good for the price.

★★☆☆☆

I have yet to try it again, but I ended up being sick after drinking. I'm unsure of if it is the tea or if I am just sensitive. I've had other Matcha teas before, so possibly not the tea for me.

★★★★★

I LOVE this tea! I prefer it iced, and it is smooth and great tasting. I also like the extraordinary health benefits!

★★★★★

For someone who usually doesn't like green tea, I wasn't expecting to love matcha as much as I do. It's a staple now!

★★★☆☆

This matcha is for some reason not as strong as the matcha I'm used to drinking. I have to add double the matcha that I would normally use to get the same flavor.

★★★★★

Excellent matcha! I put a teaspoon in my mug, add a small amount of hot water and whisk well, then slowly pour in the rest of my water while whisking.

I've never been known as a 'tea person', but I was told by a friend that matcha helped aid digestion, and so I thought that if I wanted to give it a try, I would want the very best! This tea has worked great for me, but I know every person if different! I would definitely stick by this tea!

★★★★★

I have enjoyed this tea so much it has replaced my morning coffee most days. So glad Adagio has this tea available to us.

★★★★★

Love this matcha! Super easy to make, very few clumps, and they go away quickly, lovely color, fills me with energy :)

★★★★★

A straightforward matcha, no added flavor, just as I had wanted. I'm not the biggest matcha fan, but this was exactly what I was hoping for.

★★★★★

Excellent matcha. I find a lot of matcha powders at there are not up to my standard, and this is my favorite. I love to make matcha shakes in the hot summer (1/2 T matcha powder, 1 T honey, two handfuls of ice cubes, 1 cup milk of your choice). So many matchas are low quality, but this matcha is WAY worth the $$$.

★★★★★

This has become one of my ALL time FAVORITE teas! I have replaced my morning coffee with it. It gives the right amount of energy and no caffeine shakes because it has a lower caffein content. I have noticed my skin has been very clear and I know green matcha helps with that!

★★★★★

Really strong, really excellent matcha. I make lattes out of them and I don't need any more than a teaspoon to get the amount of flavor I want.

★★★★★

Tastes like a good Matcha. Feels like a good matcha. I enjoy a good matcha.

★★★★★

I really like this matcha, especially for the price.

★★★★☆

I liked this. Sometimes, I put it in smoothies (spoonful of matcha, ice, 1 banana, handful of spinach, splash of milk, potential additions: touch of honey, coconut cream, coconut shaving, chocolate chips).

★★★★☆

I absolutely love this tea. It’s my favorite morning tea. It’s creamy and vitalizing.

★★★★☆

I am a big fan of matcha and while this isn't my favorite matcha ever I can say it is a solid product. It is very smooth (not bitter at all) and dissolves very easily. It also has a light (but enjoyable) umami flavor (without being too overpowering). I would say it is a good 'all around' matcha that is great for newcomers and matcha fans alike.

I like this matcha! Smooth and tasty. It does the trick.

★★★★★

I've tried a lot of different matcha, and this is the best I've had. It's sweet and has so much depth to it. I like to make it cold and it's very refreshing.

★★★★☆

Thanks to my experience on this site I have gone onto a match journey. Amazon offers some teas that are even smoother than this one. But for a solid intro - the ceremonial a great start.

★★★☆☆

I will preface this by saying, I have never tried any other brand of matcha. This was my first time trying it at all. It's definitely VERY earthy and grassy to me (not my favorite flavors). I absolutely cannot just drink it on its own, but it's not bad in smoothies. I tried making matcha pancakes and didn't love those either. I think matcha just might not be my cup of tea! But I love the versatility and the extra energy boost.

★★★★★

The sample tastes great! I'm ordering more of this that comes in the tin.

★★★★★

Matcha is my go to daily drink (I also drink it cold!)

★★★★★

I've tried other brands from very expensive to least expensive, but this matcha is perfect.

★★★★★

This has a great flavor, and is much better than other matcha I have gotten at the same price point.

★★★★★

Love this matcha. I bought the matcha set with whisk, mesh sifter , and scoop. I’ve made this matcha by itself which gives a nice frothy vibe or with many brands of beer.

★★★★★

This is a solid quality matcha for a great price.

★★★★★

Always bought Teavana Matcha and since they closed I've been searching for another high quality Matcha. Tried the Adagio Matcha and now it will be my new mainstay.

★★★☆☆

First time trying matcha. It was okay. I prefer regular green tea.

★★★★★

LOVE MATCHA!!! This matcha is great and not too expensive either.

★★★★★

Fresh, crisp taste. Best Matcha I have had. Blends easily and has beautiful color. I begin with mixing 1tsp with hot water and whisking with a bamboo whisk. Then I add the remaining hot water and whisk to a beautiful froth and then enjoy. Delicious!

Tastes just how I expect matcha to. To be honest this is the first straight matcha powder I've bought so I can't really compare quality or flavor to other brands. I'm just happy to be able to make my own matcha lattes without all the extra sugar the premade mixes have.

Very smooth and nice matcha. Very little bitterness. I enjoy this with vanilla soy milk instead of plain.

This is growing on me. I'm typically not a fan of green teas since most I have tried taste, to me, like bitter grass. While this tea still has strong grassy notes it is much smoother and far more enjoyable. Helps me wake up in the morning.
