The smell of this tea is just like sour apple candies! Thankfully it's not overpoweringly sour.
A celebration of the apple! Sweetness like a candied apple, fresh tart-floral notes of crispy crab apples.

The smell of this tea is just like sour apple candies! Thankfully it's not overpoweringly sour.
I’m surprised how much I like this. Didn’t even need to add sweetener.
My communiTEA sample smelled like an apple jolly rancher. I had this hot last year...uh, no thank you! This year I did a cold brew. It is much much better cold. I think it's ok...not really for me.
If you like green apple jolly ranchers you will like this tea.
Makes for a pretty apple red brew. I was not expecting to like this because of the name. Generally I am not a fan of sour but this tasty blend is refreshing. Smells like hot apple cider & Tart apples. I added one packet of Splenda. 212, 5 min.
I am surprised at how much I like this blend! When I opened my CommuniTea packet, it smelled like apple Jolly Ranchers! I was afraid this would be too sour. However, I steeped for 7 min at the recommended temperature and drank this plain, and I like it! It's fruity and sweet enough to counter the tartness, and the color of the brewed liquid is a brilliant red!
This one lives up to its name. It’s tart and tangy. It’s apple cider with a hibiscus twist. This is a nice choice for Team Tart and the herbal drinking crowd. I hold proud membership in both camps so this one works for me! Happy Sipping!
A bit sour for my taste, but was much improved with the addition of honey. Honestly crazy about the red color!
Sour and bit of sweet. Absolutely love this tea. Perfect.
This tea is absolutely delicious! It sounded right up my alley, and it definitely is. A little sweet, a perfect amount of sour - *chef's kiss*
A lovely apple blend! It's a little tart just like the name says, but it can be remedied with a bit of sugar if it's not to your liking. Personally I found the sour taste to be a pleasant balance for this cup.
Like an apple jolly rancher but a bit more sour than that!
Love the cleansing and re-calibrating sour apple flavor with rose hips and hibiscus. This tea brews into a cherry red color and packs a lip smacking wallop of oh so good tart flavor that begs for sweetness. I added some tisane and cinnamon honeys. The honey mix was perfect and gave the sour apple some sweetness with a bit of spice. I chilled a mini cup too to try iced. I wouldn’t have pegged this flavor as something I’d like but found it surprisingly good.
My CT packet had 3 g. of all ingredients with plenty of rose hips, hibiscus and apple pieces. I brewed on the strong side and steeped 10 oz. at 212*F for 10 min. and didn’t resteep. The flavor I enjoy most in fruit tisanes comes through in one brew. As a pre sweetened iced tea, sour apple was delicious and had a similar sweet tart flavor as cranberry apple juice. Hoping to find more of it, I rummaged through my tea stash and was glad to have found a sample bag I had purchased as a half off trial tea. It will barely hold me over until a bigger bag arrives. I'm excited to have discovered this wonderful new tea flavor. Thanks CT!
I didn’t think I would enjoy this, but surprise, I did! I love sour, but do not like the sour apple flavor of most things like skittles, sour patch kids, etc. This tea is not trying to be so sour that it makes you pucker. There is a lovely apple flavor with mild tartness. I added a bit of honey, but just a bit. I wanted it to stay tart, but bring out the apple flavor more. I was happy with my decision. My second steep I added caramel tea and it was delicious. Enough apple flavor was left to give my caramel tea some caramel apple vibes. This would be so refreshing cold and probably not to shabby with some apple brandy added. Steeped 212° for 7 mins. Cheers!
Great tea!
Apples. Apples. Apples and also incase it wasn't clear. Apples.
22 Oct 20 communiTEA review: Very mild and musty apple aromas were noted in my CommuniTEA packet. The hibiscus and rose hips were getting really excited and ready to impart their sourness on me.
When hot, a vibrant red candy apple color was seen in my cup. Moderately sour apple flavors were noted. I added some sugar to try and tone down the sourness and intensify the apple flavors. When warm, heavy sourness and sweetness from the added sugar gave this brew a candy note.
The hibiscus and rose hips definitely did an excellent job at making this drink sour! If you enjoy Jolly Rancher sour green apple candies, you’ll really enjoy this one. However, this one just wasn’t my cup of tea. I think this herbal would be better when used in a personal blend. (7 mins @ 212ºF, 1/2 tsp sugar)
A little strong with the hibiscus, but still a delicious herbal tea.
The description nailed it. A refreshing tangy granny smith apple tea. I really enjoyed this tea, it was tart but not overly sour. I love CommuniTea because I would not have ordered this and would have missed out on it.
Pucker up! This tea lives up to its name...it is sour indeed. I added a half teaspoon of honey and I enjoyed this cup of tea. It reminds me of the powdered apple cider packets you can buy to make single serve hot apple cider. 🍎
This tea is light and fruity, but be warned, it's tart (it's not called 'sour' apple for nothing!). I think by itself it's not the best fruit tea (a bit too tart for my tastes), but it's very good when added to other teas (eg spiced teas, fruity teas) to give it a bit of an apple kick.
I really tried to like this one. I love sour apple flavors, but this just tasted awful. I tried storing it in the fridge overnight to see if the flavor would be better as an iced tea, but it made it worse. Really disappointed in this one.
I love this tea it has a great flavor and strong smell
mellow apple taste, refreshing, nice addition to any black tea
All sour, no apple. It tasted like sour and hibiscus, but I detected no apple flavor. Will not purchase again.
Yummy! I love the twang of a good sour apple! This tea has that but for those that don’t like it, add some rock sugar and it tames it without destroying the flavor.
I love making this iced. It's just the right amount of tart, like a really good Granny Smith apple. Add some stevia and it's so refreshing on a hot day.
This smelled delicious but even with how long I steeped it, it tasted like an apple sneezed in water.
It's a pretty clear red color, but on it's own, the combination of apple and hibiscus comes across as though I'm drinking diluted apple cider vinegar. Added to one of my chais, it's drinkable, but not something I'll go out of my way to have on its own again.
the color was pretty but the flavor was very artificial, odd aftertaste.
Sour is right! It's definitely has got a tartness to it which is really nice as an iced tea and is my preferred way of drinking it.
The apple flavor comes through the hibiscus and was a much more pleasant cup than I was expecting. The juiciness of the apple comes through with an accent of tart from the hibiscus.
If you like hibiscus this is your tea! I wanted to taste more the sour apple but it s more a hibiscus flower tea! which I don t mind but expecting something else.
This tea is mostly apple chunks. It tastes like apple, slightly tangy but not as much as some of the other fruity herbals. It doesn't taste like candy, but it's sweeter than plain apples. I didn't find it very 'sour', but it's a fine green apple flavor that reminds me of the sweet part of those sweet and sour candies. It was better as it cooled to warm rather than hot. It seems like it would be good iced but I think at that point I might as well have juice, this tea doesn't have the strongest flavor. This would be a great option for less sugar though! I'll update my review if I try it with sugar.
This is a nice change to the sweet little bit of tart but not too much Nice and refreshing
This is the only tea so far that I havent enjoyed. It tasted very week and lightly apple like but not really enough flavor to really entice me either way.
A strong flavored tea. Very present apple juiciness with some tartness from hibiscus. Rose flavor was very subtle, barely noticed it. I liked the sour flavor but its very on the back-end of the tea, almost like an aftertaste, still a strong flavor.
Would recommend for anyone who enjoys apples and sour! Almost like a Granny Smith.
This was somewhat tart and achieved the goal of tasted like a sour apple. I can t however ignore that the hibiscus dominates the flavor profile. i really wonder why it ALWAYS serves as the base. I wrote in another review that these herbal options she all just be hibiscus tea with whatever flavor they re claiming it to be.
Love love love...great tanginess and a real Granny Smith-like taste!
I love this herbal. It has a nice, light flavor and it good to drink anytime.
My kids love this one hot or over ice. I like it that it has no caffeine so they can drink it any time of day.
By far my favorite tea I have ever tried. Don't let the smell fool you, this is worth a try.
I was quite surprised with this one. I thought it was going to be super tart, but it is mild tart. I add 2 packets of sweetener to this and it tones down the tartness a bit. I've only tried as an iced tea but I really enjoy this one.
the apple flavor isnt as pronounced as I'd like it to be
Love it! They re not kidding with the name of this one: it really is a bold, sour flavor, but I love that about it. It makes my cup of tea feel so indulgent, like eating candy!
Nice fruity tea, dark red color - I make a second pour and added lemon for a nice iced drink.
Excellent taste! Iced or hot. I mix with Citrus Mint, great for the Summer.
This was a nice flavored non caffeinated tea. The hibiscus comes through with a nice touch of apple. This will be a tea I go to in the fall also a great late day tea if you aren't wanting caffeine.
I don't know what I expected, but definitely not the taste of apple vinegar with a hint of hibiscus. I mean, I can handle sour, I loooove sour, but this tea has a very unfortunate flavor combination, so I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone and won't be buying it again
One of the most awful teas I´ve had in a long time.
