I loved it so much I ordered more. I have been trying to get my favorites and this is one of them

My absolute favorite tea here on Adagio, and it's the first I recommend to others. It's the perfect fruity tea for nighttime, and to mix with other black teas to give a nice bit of sweetness.

★★☆☆☆

VERY strong smelling tea in its loose leaf form. The brew is too sour for me.

★★★★★

Great tea, just enough tartness without being sour.

★★★★★

Sour and a touch sweet. Great dessert tea. This will be a regular buy for me.

This is essentially hibiscus tea. Little to no apple flavor, very bitter

Somewhere between Granny Smith and Fuji in flavor, beautiful color. I usually don't like tea without milk, but this is an exception.

★★★★★

I like tart apples, but I don't like sour candies, and I particularly usually don't like sour apple candy. When I was reading the reviews, I was expecting this tea to remind me of those candies, but it didn't at all. It was tart, yes, but I didn't feel like it was sour, and the apple flavor was lovely. It definitely doesn't resteep well, but it's a very tasty apple tea, and I was surprised and impressed.

★★☆☆☆

This smells overwhelmingly like vinegar, but the taste is ok if subtle.

I liked this one a lot! It’s neat as far as sour apple flavors go. I got the distinct impression of sour apple candy when I opened this one up with how strong the smell was, and figured I’d try making it a bit on the stronger side, but I might’ve steeped it too strong for my tastes. I tried eight or nine minutes and didn’t notice how strong the flavor had gotten until it cooled down enough for me to sip. It was good, don’t get me wrong; it didn’t actually need any sweetener at all with how well-rounded the flavor was, but I just couldn’t drink much of it that way for long! If you’re lounging around, I can totally picture drinking this over a good period of time lazily, but I didn’t really have the time for that. I ended up trying to mildly dilute mine to a more tolerable amount of sour, and then added a bit of sugar in to round out the emptier parts of the flavor. I’m storing the rest for later. I’d actually love to try this again with the full sample size. I’m glad I got this as a communiTEA sample!

This tea is wonderfully tart and crisp, and goes great with a little apple jam stirred in.

If you're the kind of person who expects exactly what the description suggests, this is for you. It smells like sour apples, it tastes like sour apples, and it even steeps to a beautiful purplish red.

I really enjoyed the tartness of the hibiscus combined with the refreshing apple flavor. I am a big fan of hibiscus teas and this one was no exception . A nice caffeine free apple flavor for fall, I will be having this again!

Whew!! That's tart!! Although pucker worthy with the right amount of sweetner this will taste like sour apple candy which is pretty fantastic. Just not something I could drink often.

Very much like a green apple jolly rancher candy except it’s the most beautiful deep red color. I love the tartness of the hibiscus with the sweet of the apple. I added a pinch of rock sugar and had mine hot. Saved the last couple sips to chill in the fridge and it’s good that way also. Love this one on its own but I’m sure it would be wonderful blended with another tea. 200° for 6 minutes.

Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. I don't normally like sour apple and thought this tea would taste too artificial but it was pretty good. Adding sweetener mellowed it out for me.

This tastes somewhere between sour apple candy flavor, and apple cider. Definitely sour!

The smell from the packet reminded me of those sour apple suckers I used to eat as a kid. It brews into a beautiful color and does truly taste like a sour apple . I brewed it for a second round and tasted more hibiscus. This would be great iced.

How can something taste of apples with NO sweetness whatsoever?! This is dead on apple juice or cider, the tart of a Granny Green apple, but even a GG had some sweetness; this has none. That's not necessarily bad, and I can easily see using this in a home tea blend easy.

Really enjoyed this one. Made it iced/cold brewed. Slightly tart and plenty sweet without any added sweeteners.

This a most interesting tea. I would never purchase it for my tasting pleasure , however I certainly want a bag in my tea cabinet for special social occassions It is a gorgeous red color to show off in a wine glassily is herbal and makes a perfect mock cocktail. It has a nice dry finish making it perfect for sipping and sips well as it cools down to room temp.add some ice and a taller glass and you have a completely different mock alcoholic beverage.

Sour Apple is a perfect description for this fruity tart tea. It’s good hot, but even better cooled.

Super yummy tart apple flavor. Not super intense, apple comes through more with a touch of sweetener. Love that it's herbal .

The hibiscus and rose hips are unapologetic in this tea which brews to a fabulous red and is full of tart n' tangy flavors. These flavors merge with the apples, not quite sour, more like crab apple or granny smith with a kick. Surprisingly tasty.

All players present in today’s CommuniTEA packet! I steeped this 212F for 8min to a lovely cranberry color. Hot and without sweetener, this collection of rose hips, hibiscus, and apple pieces tasted like, well, rose hips and hibiscus. After adding some rock sugar this became more like a hot apple cider made from a tart apple type but even more specifically like apple skin. Try one of the boiled apple pieces after steeping; that’s some real sour apple!

The hibiscus and rose hips add a pretty red color to this tea—and a whole lot of tartness. With a little sweetener it reminded me of green apple Jolly Ranchers. Ok, but not my cup of tea.

It really does taste like a tart green apple, the question is do I want to drink a sour apple tea? I am not sure - I won’t be buying this one but I did enjoy the cup of tea.

I suppose this tea tastes like apple, and I really enjoy the blood-red color, but the hibiscus flavor is a bit strong for me. I do think this one tastes better iced than hot when brewed on its own.

This was like drinking a tea version of apple cider, sweet and tangy at the same time. It smelled like a sour apple jolly rancher in the packet and brewed a gorgeous red color. The first sip was absolute perfection and remained so as I drank the entire cup.

CommuniTEA packet tasting, the packet had an amazing apply scent however, the flavors were too subtle for my taste. I was expecting ting it to pack more of a punch. Happy sipping!

I cold steeped this blend, and it was pretty decent iced and straight. I do think as others have mentioned it would be great as a mixer.

This tea definitely lives up to it's name! It's like a jolly rancher without the sticky sweetness. Mostly a very strong tart puckery taste. It's nice to sip in small amounts, but a bit much to drink a full cup. I suspect it would be easier to drink in quantity when iced.

This tea was very lovely! I know it is supposed to be “sour” and hibiscus can definitely make a tea that if left unchecked, but I don’t prefer sour in my tea, so I kept the steep time to 4 minutes and it was a perfect choice for me. It kept the overall profile more sweet and I really tasted the apple! The color was gorgeous and I was glad I chose to use my glass mug for this.

This tea steeps to a very pretty dark pink, and smells exactly like a sour apple Jolly Rancher. It was not as tart and sour as I had expected, but would probably be great in blends.

This is very nice as a cold brew. The flavor is *big*, tart and fruity. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as a hot brew at all! Refreshing, if extremely declarative.

I enjoyed this one although I wouldn’t choose it very often. It was good when craving an apple cider type flavor. My kids loved it and helped me finish the cup. We brewed only 4 oz with the CommuniTEA packet and added 1 tsp of rock sugar.

Dry tea smells heavily of apples. Once brewed, the resulting cup is a bright magenta red with an apple scent. The hibiscus lends a strong level of tart to the apple, resulting in the titular sour apple flavor combination. This is quite on the tart side, with the apple lending the flavor rather than sweetness to the tangy rose hips and hibiscus. I can see how this would do well in blends, and for someone like me that enjoys sour and tart things, the hot tea on its own is quite tasty. The flavors are bright but fresh, without any lingering flavors into the finish. Brewed at 212 for 5 minutes.

A very mild fruity flavor, with the tartness of the hibiscus coming through more than the flavor of the apple. It's pleasant enough on it's own, but would be better paired with another tea, or perhaps even melted caramel in place of regular sugar. By itself like this, it might be better iced.

A nice tart apple flavor. When brewed it turned out to be a really pretty red color. I had it hot but I imagine it would be even better iced.

Holy schnikies, I was not prepared for how terrific this tea is. I was borderline expecting to not like it, but as it turns out, I am in tea-love. This tastes exactly like hot apple cider, but without the cinnamon that I can't have anymore due to a health thing. It's tart and sweet and incredibly appley and makes me want to curl up with a blanket and a book. I will definitely be adding this tea to my collection!

Smells kinda weird, but tastes really good. I like it with a little honey, so it's like a green jolly rancher.

Sour apple that reminds me of that popular candy with hibiscus and tart rose hips. This would be killer iced or as a base for a punch.

CommuniTEA Sample: a nice herbal blend that tastes a bit like apple cider, although without the sweet and spice. A nice sour-ish flavor but without the tang that hits the back of your mouth. A very enjoyable sip this morning while out and about.

I didn't expect to like this tea. On the playground of the tea world, I'll always pick sour apple last for my kickball team. But, I'm a good CommuniTEA drinker and obediently drank my sample. I also don't like sweet teas, but other reviewers talked about adding sugar. So... I added half a packet of rock sugar. Lo and behold! I like it! I really like it! Won't go so far as to say I LOVE it, but I do like it. I might even steep a second cup from the leaves.
