I liked this; more tart than sour, the apple flavor was strong but I could also taste the hibiscus.
It was good!

nice and tart, Delicious and refreshing as a cold brew

When I first opened the package, I smelled vinegar. After steeping the tea at 212 degrees for 10 minutes, I let it cool. I didn't get a sour apple taste. I think I mainly tasted the hibiscus. Not a horrible taste but not what I thought it would be.

I oversteeped this quite terribly, but it didn't get as tart as I thought it would. The apple flavor was very pronounced, and I actually got very little of the tartness of the hibiscus, which I found pleasant as I dislike hibiscus. It reminds me more of a weak sour apple juice than a tea. It's not something I'd choose to drink, but I didn't hate it. Solidly middle of the road for me.

I do get lots of hibiscus and some apple. Tart sure but I prefer other Adagio herbals. Their New York tea is similar but better.

UPDATE from 10/23/21: I still love this tea. Wonderful floral and fruity aromas are detected as the packet opens. It steeps into a beautiful clear scarlet color and has a very distinct tart taste. The hibiscus really takes center stage with the apple. Love the sourness. Adding only a ¼ teaspoon of sweetener to 12 oz, allows the apple flavor to come out more without losing the tartness. This is much like a sweet tart. WONDERFUL cup of tea, and NO caffeine. It will not steep a second time, so get all you want on your first brew. It makes a fabulous ice tea. This is one to purchase! (10 mins @ 212ºF).

It's smells so divine and sweet but it's tangy and straight out sour it's not the worst but it's definitely one I have to be in a mood to drink it

Not tangy, not tart, just flat out sour! If I have to add unreasonable amounts of sugar to anything, it's not for me! Hibiscus = 3 sips and down the drain.

I'm so glad the steeped tea smelled and tasted better than the packet, because it smelled like vinegar when I opened it up. After steeping, it was legit a candy apple in a mug. It was tart, definitely not sour, and even got the candy-apple red hue just right. I absolutely enjoyed this one and would happily drink it again, both hot and iced. Steeped 7 min @ 195º.

vaguely familiar scent which I cannot place. Reminds me of something baked.

First sip, no sweetener: Wow! This is TART! I can see why it's called 'sour' apple! The hibiscus and rose hips REALLY stand out!

Sweetener added: Mmm with the sweetener added this is quite tasty. Still not sure I'd call it sour apple, but the tartness has been tamed yet still tangy and the apple is more pronounced. I'm letting this one chill in the fridge as it's been quite warm here in oregon lately and iced tea is just so refreshing on these hot days. Based on the hot tea flavor, I can see myself keeping this around to blend in my summer iced teas.

I'm glad I stuck this in the fridge, it tastes extremely good when cold. I enjoyed it both ways, but cold with the sugar added seems to me like the winner…the sugar tames the hibiscus, but it still has residual tanginess and it helps draw out the apple. I really enjoyed this blend. Heck, I didn't know I even like hibiscus as years ago I had an hibiscus tea that I couldn't finish.

This tea has a very tart aroma, but the flavor wasn’t as tart as I thought it might be. It is still tasty though and makes a beautiful magenta cup of tea!

I found it was similar to apple cider, but a little more tart. It is very good. I love that it is caffeine free for a nice evening cup

This is a little sour as it should be and a little tart too. I have to be in the mood to drink this but I like it. I steep for only 5 minutes and add some honey for a little sweetness. Yup, it tastes like a sour apple.

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy this tea. I found a bit that I had squirreled away, and even though it was a few years old, the scent and flavors were still strong. I ordered myself a new bag, and I'm delighted. The flavors are so crisp and refreshing, and the fact that it is caffeine-free means I can enjoy it later into the day.

This is lovely! It's a very strong (in a good way) base for our Good Girl Moonshine from Trim Healthy Mama. My family really enjoys it.

It was very strong with the apple flavor! I was very happy to find an apple tea that emphasized the apple flavor in it. This has to be one of my favorite blends here!

Nice/surprising puckery tartness. I like to mix with chai.

This is great with a bit of honey or a bit of sugar. I usually make it with ice. Great for summer days.

I just wasn't a fan of how tangy this ended up feeling - I didn't expect the sour apple to be literal, and I didn't expect my milk to curdle when it was mixed in :(

★★★★★

Loved this herbal, both hot and cold. Naturally sweet enough to not need sugar. Nice perky apple flavor.

★★★★☆

Like a few other reviewers mentioned, I had to pick out most of the hibiscus because it overwhelmed everything else. (I'm not a big fan of hibiscus anyway, so take that into account.) But after that, this is a very tasty treat. Not overly sweet, not overly tart, just right. I'm currently blending it with cinnamon and cloves to make a spiced-cider type thing for winter. :)

A delicious treat! I enjoyed this as an iced tea, but it was good hot as well. It tasted like fresh apples.

★★★★☆

When brewed hot it's a solid fruit tea, not too sour, not too fruity. But it shines as an overnight steep in the refrigerator. Cool and refreshing without being sickeningly sweet. And excellent with a little apple cider mixed in.

This one is good, but the fragrance is somewhat off-putting at first. It smells a lot like apple cider vinegar. I like it best with a small amount of honey.

A nice hibiscus tea. As the hibiscus was very present, I did not significantly notice the other flavors in the cup.

gonna have to re-order it since it has been a while since I tried this blend and see how much I really like it

I am not sure I like this one, at least on its own, and only when iced. I'm experimenting with berry and watermelon teas to find a unique tea with no caffeine.

★★☆☆☆

A bit too tart. It loses the apple flavor because of the sourness.

I wanted to like this one and went into it hoping it would be reminiscent of the Sour Apple Jolly Rancher. It steeps to a rich blood red color which was jarring and then it was more apple than sour to me.

I want to like this tea but it just smells so weird. The aftertaste is a great apple flavor, but the smell and beginning of the sip is just too chemical-y.

I made my Sour Apple hot with some extra hibiscus and fruit tisanes honey. I steeped it for a SUPER long time, about 30 minutes, because I love really flavorful herbal teas. This tea is indeed sour! Just like the name says. It was such a great, fun, fruity tea. I really loved it. I would highly recommend this tea!

I was a bit worried when I pulled this one out of the bag. The apple smell was so intense it almost hurt my nose, but after 10 minutes of steeping it had mellowed to a warm, inviting sweetness. I threw in a cinnamon stick to get that cider/apple pie aroma, and was pleased by the way it made the tartness of the apple pop without needing to add sugar or honey. I will be making this one a staple, especially when guests come over. There's something so welcoming and comforting about the way it smells and tastes. Bonus: It handles oversteeping exceptionally well. It gets pretty sour, but is still very enjoyable.

Lovely tea, nice taste. Not super sour, more delicately apple flavoured. Smells more sour than it tastes. Do recommend

Pretty disappointed. Occasionally got a vinegar-ish smell from the bag and it never really smelled like apple. After brewing, I couldn't detect any apple flavor at all.

I did not expect this one at all! It really does taste like sour apple but not overly sweet like a candy, perhaps close to a Granny Smith. Great tea!

Surprisingly refreshing. A very drinkable blend. Not too sweet. Not too sour either. A juicy, refreshing drink. Obsessed with this as an iced tea.

I love a good sour apple. They are one of my favorites so was hopeful for this tea. When I opened the package, there was no apple aroma. The tea tastes tart, but don’t get a tart apple flavor.

I added sugar before I tasted it and I was I hadn’t. It was delicious but it didn’t have a sour taste. It tasted like a candied apple. Next time I am going to taste it before adding sweetener and hopeful I’ll get some of that Granny Smith apple taste.

Actually hoping for an artificial apple flavor this tea did not dissapoint. The aroma is that of an apple jolly rancher, I thought people were exaggerating when they said it smelled sooo sour but they weren't kidding, it smells like apple cider vinegar! The taste is ok, it's much better cold than it is hot, so please cold brew this tea. The apple flavor carries on well when brewing you don't lose any of it. March 2022 update: Yep, sour apple is pretty weak when hot, but when you add ice the flavors just come alive! So refreshing.

★★★☆☆

It is blue when it first begins to brew and then purple. And it is sour! But no so much like apples.

Wonderful! My husband loves this as an iced tea. It is crisp and tart, and needs no additional sweetener!

★★★☆☆

The taste is alright but a little odd. Still fragrant and decently strong taste.

I really like this, both as an iced tea and a hot one. I’m looking forward to making hot cocktails out of it as well. It IS tart but to me, that’s refreshing and desirable. Good appetite suppressor too! If you like drinking apple cider vinegar, you’ll like this.

This tea is very sour, however, I like it mixed with the cinnamon apple rooibos quite a bit. I dont drink this on its own, but you may love it if you like sour teas.

This one smells like vinegar in the bag, but it tastes fine. Not extraordinary.
