I've only brewed this as a hot tea, but I get mostly hibiscus. There's a hint of tart apple at the end. It's very nice but I think it would be absolutely beautiful iced with just a touch of sweetness.
A celebration of the apple! Sweetness like a candied apple, fresh tart-floral notes of crispy crab apples.

Not a fan of this tea. Too much of a hibiscus flavor too it which I don't love
Very nice tea - the apple is quite apparent, although the hibiscus is slightly overpowering.
My sister ordered this tea (through me) and she loves it. I believe it is her favorite tea that she bought.
The tea was quite sour but still had great flavor. I ended up adding a touch of cinnamon to it to kick the flavor up a bit.
This tea bites back. Not quite like a jolly rancher, but really tasty.
I tried this tea when my sister bought it. It was just kind of sour but I thought I would try it again.
This tea is perfect to me. Love the tart apple taste, it's really like drinking a green apple. I only got a free sample with my order, but definitely ordering more.
I was hoping for more of a sour pop, but this tea didn't do much for me there...it was fun to make, though.
Genuinely interesting fruit blend! I brewed a cup apiece of Berry Blast, Blood Orange, Dewy Cherry, Mango Melange, Sour Apple, and Wild Strawberry, all at the same time, for comparison's sake. When I tasted each of the six before adding sweetener, I got mostly punchy, candyish sourness from this cup and not much distinctive apple. (Still, I could see where such an unusual flavor, in addition to Sour Apple's vinegar-y smell, might be *very* interesting in blends). Adding a bit of honey brought out a whole other side of this tea, though. The apple flavor came through wonderfully, with an admirable heartiness to it. I can see why others have been reminded of apple orchards. This is outdoorsy apple, crisp but a little rugged. Combine this with some sweet, bake-y flavors like vanilla, cinnamon or cream, and I bet you get French countryside wholesome peasant apple pie. I ended up really liking this mix!
I can't say that I was either surprised or disappointed in this Sour Apple tea, but more so content. Out of the bag, you're left with a lingering aroma of fresh Apple Cider with a smack in the face from Sour. Seriously, the smell almost hurts at first, but it loses most of that punch when steeped. After getting past the smell, I had to give the bag a good shake to mix the different ingredients, as the Apple Pieces seemed to migrate to the top of the bag during its travel (a hectic journey for all of us, but we'll save that for story time). I'm no expert on tasting, but I'm pretty sure the hibiscus and rose hips really downplay the Sour Apple taste once steeped, but not enough to overpower it completely. I enjoy this tea warmer, as opposed to the tartness that it seems to adopt as it cools to room temperature. I wouldn't say the taste lingers long either way, which is a personal preference anyway. Though not necessary to enjoy, a pinch, dash, or stick of cinnamon really rounds this tea off well.
This had a very strange taste hot, but I'm thinking it could be amazing iced.
This tea has a sort of sweet and mellow taste and first, but then still gets you with a tangy sourness at the end. I enjoyed it hot with nothing added (though I will probably add cinnamon in the future as other reviewers have suggested), but I really didn't like it iced until I rewarmed it and added some sugar. Now that I know that, though, I feel it's a good tea to enjoy both ways. I love everything apple so this will most likely continue to be a favorite.
It's cute, trying to be sour. But, it just comes off as a hint of apple. It smells better than it tastes.
Overall a very good tea. It's almost like getting two for one as secondary infusions differ radically in both color and taste from the initial brew.
Has a tart flavor, but is still sweet. I recommend this over ice.
I like it on its own but like some of the other reviews say I think it will taste even better blended with other teas.
I'm new to the Adagio Teas and so far this is one of my favorites!! My kids also love this tea! Ordering more for sure.
Definitely reminiscent of apples, and fairly sour. However, in general, it has a very light flavor and isn't too intense, which is normally how I like my teas.
I am not a big fan of fruit teas, so my opinion may be skewed by that, but I found this tea to be a little too sour and strong for me. I think perhaps mixing it with another tea that is more subtle in flavor would weaken the strong sour flavor I got when I brewed it the last time.
I wasn't overfond of the smell in the bag - it was very strong. It lightens up once steeped. This makes a beautiful dark pink cup, and is deliciously tart. I have a sweet tooth, so I take this with a bit of Splenda. Lovely.
This tart apple is the perfect amount of tang. 8/10 would drink again.
Not as sour as I was expecting it to be, still a wonderful cup of tea however. Amazing iced!
Be careful with this one. The sour apple gets really sour *fast*. You'll have to really watch your brewing time. If you're careful, it's good tea for any time of day, but it does have the capacity for being a bit overwhelming.
This is one that's best iced. Don't even bother with it hot unless you're using it in a blend.
Someone said this tea was pretty awesome iced, and they were totally right! Definitely a tasty, fruity tea for summer.
I usually don't like sour anything but this one peeked my interests and I wanted to give it a shot. It has just the right sourness to it.
Not as appley or soury as I thought it would be...a little weak in my opinion
I've tried brewing this super hot and long, moderate heat, short amount of time...I've tried always. Can't get it to taste like much of anything.
I think this one is good but not something I can drink always. it is a little too sour for my liking, but I wouldn't completely hate it. It is herbal, which i love and has my much loved hibiscus.
The smell literally hurts your nose when you open the bag, almost wanting to put you off drinking it. The tea turns a nice shade of pinkish red when brewed, and it tastes sort of like tart apple candy. A nice balance of sweet and tart in a cup.
Tea has a bright, springy tart taste. You have to use 2teaspoons to get good flavor. I like the tea more mixed w. a light green tea (I used sencha) The flavors blend well and it tastes better mixed than straight.
Almost as good (pretty darn close) as a mug of hot apple cider! Have it sweet, with sugar or honey, to have that nice yin-yan of sweet and sour.
Fantastic nice realistic apple tea. Not too strong, but just perfect if you are looking for a light tea
It wasn't as good as I thought it was. The smell was indeed very sour but when steeping it and tasting it, there wasn't much flavor at all.
Really nice herbal tea. Lots of flavor and just a hint of tang.
Interesting flavor. I am not a big fan of flavored teas, but this is really quite nice. I also like to combine it with a black tea for a more subtle yet discernable taste.
This tea was great! I brewed it according to directions and added my normal amount of sugar, and it has a nice, light apple flavor to it. The unbrewed tea smells much stronger than the actual thing once it's done, but it's still a very enjoyable tea. Hardly sour at all, though.
Very good! Also great to add to other black tea to add flavour.
I'm in love with this tea. By far my favorite tea I've ordered from Adagio yet. Has a strong and sour taste that I can't get enough of.
In the bag this almost hurts to smell, it's SO sour. When brewed, though, it's just nicely tart! The apple pieces (because you shouldn't strain these fruity teas!) add a nice bit of sweetness to offset the sour. I drank the whole cup.
This is certainly going to be one of my favorite teas. I decided to try it iced so I added double the amount of tea and steeped it for 8 minutes at degrees. Then I poured it over ice and added some splenda. It is incredibly yummy and there is absolutely no doubt that this tea is sour apple when you take your first sip! It's really tart and enjoyable! I am ordering more of this S P!
Whoa, the smell of the tea in the bag was ridiculously pungent, almost like apple cider vinegar. It brewed into a really beautiful color, a pinkish red, and it was rather tart. It was more of an apple aftertaste, as it wasn't so much apple as it was tart. It isn't a tea I would drink on its own (at least, not often), but it's almost there. I think a tiny bit of sugar would round it out beautifully. It's definitely a good tea to make blends with. I think a tea that would tone the tartness down would be great. (The apple pieces were delicious though.)
Not too bad. The sour part of the sour apple is very obvious. The taste was pretty okay, but I will probably not be purchasing any more of it.
I love this sour apple tea! Has a nice tart taste, just the way I like it.
I love this herbal. It is absolutely fantastic, and a great caffeine free tea for the evening. The hibiscus is also supposed to be quite beneficial to one's health. Overall, a delicious and healthy choice.
There's not really an apple taste here. All that comes through is the hibiscus. I was really looking forward to the apple taste. How unfortunately. I won't be drinking this again.
I used this to blend with citrus mate and roibos love the fruity flavor
If you like a nice, trat, sweet and fruity tea - this one is for you. bit more tart than I care for - but still a really nice fruit tea.
This is my boyfriend's absolute favorite-- I think it's pretty good, it's different than other fruit teas in that it's actually tart. It's pretty nice.
