Surprisingly (hold on), this tastes like sour apple. Like a granny smith, basically - not like what I expected, which was that sour apple candy flavor. Good!
A celebration of the apple! Sweetness like a candied apple, fresh tart-floral notes of crispy crab apples.

Surprisingly (hold on), this tastes like sour apple. Like a granny smith, basically - not like what I expected, which was that sour apple candy flavor. Good!
This is a nice tea. I love herbal teas to sip on in the afternoons and this is a nice find. I'm particularly found of sour apples, so I jumped on the chance to try this tea. I love the color, but was hoping for a more floral bouquet. I also was left with the need for a bit more tartness. It did become more tart as it cooled and this aspect could likely be refined by longer steeping times. Overall, a very good find that I would highly recommend. Especially if you were found of sour apple jolly ranchers as a kid. I steeped for 6 min. with 208 degree water, adding slightly less than a teaspoon of German Rock sugar.
I love all things apples and this tea was no exception. It smelled like apple candy when I opened it, but gave a very mild apple taste. I'm already thinking of ways to blend with other teas.
This is best used as an accent for other teas - too sour alone really! I still like this though.
I am a huge fan of apple tea. This tea is excellent mixed with cinnamon spices or chai tea.
I bought this tea on a whim. This will be a tea that I would not mind purchasing again, though it definitely won't be one of my top choices. I can definitely taste the hibiscus - which doesn't make for some of my favourite tea - rather than any hint of apple. In the bag, there is definitely a vinegar smell. I can still smell it once brewed, though it doesn't seem to deter my brother who loves the tea. Perhaps playing around with the brew time or mixing it with other teas will get me to love it.
Tart and crisp and very lovely, the only reason I don't give this tea a 'great' is because it is not sour enough, even after a long steeping time. The mango melange tea is more sour than this one, unfortunately.
I wasn't sure about this one at first, but it smells amazing!!! and it tasted amazing and would be great iced in the summer too :)
MY FAVORITE TEA EVER. Do you like Warheads once you're through the initial painful sourness? You will love this tea. LOVE IT.
I had received this one in a sampler set and I LOVED it. I just had to order it. It tasted great- not like hot apple juice or apple cider like I feared. (Hate both of those...)
when I tried this tea straight, it was so sour it left me making inhuman noises, haha. It really is like biting into a sour apple, BUT when sugar and milk are added, the sour taste definitely mellows out. I suggest playing with how much sugar/milk/honey you add to your cup, because if you still want a mild tangy/sour taste, you shouldn't use much.
Even after adding some sweetener, it will still retain a great sour apple flavor. Has kind of a vinegar smell to it but doesn't taste like that.
Has a very strong vinegar scent, it's a little off putting. The tea itself is okay, I didn't get the notes of 'jolly rancher' like other people have. Not a bad tea though, I think it'll taste great iced.
This tea is absolutely fantastic iced. Served best when cold brewed
I received a sample of this in an order. I really like apple flavors in tea, so I was excited to try it. However when I opened the bag, I got a really vinegar-y smell, which I suppose is the sour part of it. It was a little off-putting. Once brewed the sour wasn't as strong smelling or tasting, and it really was reminiscent of a Jolly Rancher-type candy.
I don't think I'll be picking up more of this flavor, but it was good to try.
[UPDATE: TASTES AMAZING WITH CHAMOMILE, HOT OR COLD. It sounds weird, but try it!] Kind of weird as a hot tea - tastes like a green jolly rancher. While that's unappealing when warm, it's interesting as an iced tea. Don't even worry about sweetening it unless you really want it to taste like candy.
This was not as sour as I expected, which was a good thing! Actually, now that I think about it, it tastes kind of like Jolly Rancher apple candy. A bit sour, a bit sweet (but not too much of either).
This really just tastes look a fruit punch to me. I need to add a good amount of sugar to even enjoy it. Most likely wont purchase an herbal tea again.
Exactly what I was looking for in an apple tea, tart and delicious. I don't like the sweet/cinnamony direction of most apple teas, so I was very pleased to find this one.
I wasn't expecting a lot of flavor with all of the additives, but I was pleasantly surprised. Overbrewing will give you a harsh taste though. a really good mixer for the Calypso green.
I haven't actually tasted this tea yet. I'm actually kind of scared to do so since it has such a strong vinegar smell to it.
Loved this, not by itself but it served as a good addition to some of the other teas I bought.
I would not say that this is necessarily that sour taste of a fresh green apple, it was much sweeter but was still jam packed with apple flavor. I would get another bag!
Loved it. Smelled and tasted good. The Apple seemed to be a good snack too.
This one has such a yummy tart flavor, but I prefer mixing it with other teas. I will say be careful when smelling it in the bag because it can be a sour assault to the nostrils otherwise... O_O
It steeps to a pretty shade of red. The smell is delicious. There's only a hint of sour, but it's a nice kick. It's great iced, too.
Delicious apple flavor with a bit of sour taste to it.
Awesome flavors, slightly sweet not as sour as i expected.
nice tea enjoy drinking this sour apple really great, nice hot or cold!
I chose this one as a freebie tacked on to my order and was not expecting to like it as much as I did. It has a bit of sour to it, but not so much that it's going to make your jaw hurt. I think the best word to describe it is 'snappy.' Very yummy!
Not my favorite. But not because it tastes bad. Just not my thing.
This is a very wonderful tea that quite exemplifies the taste of amazing tea.
Perfect for fall! This tea is lovely hot or iced and isn't as tart as I thought it would be- although the leaves smell like a jolly rancher.
Not exactly sour like the name implies, but it makes a really nice sweet cup of tea.
Not a bad tea, nice and light. I wish it were a tad more tart.
Sour but not too sour. It's better hot than cold.
This tea is a fine flavored tea-sipping it hot reminds me of a fall night.
I really love this tea. Reminds me of homemade apple pie - good and tart!
Eh. This one kind of smells funny and tastes a bit sour. I've made it iced, and it's ok, but I don't think I'd buy it again.
Good on its own, AMAZING mixed with Blood orange herbal tea. I drink this daily. The smell is VERY intense, like jolly rancher candies.
Maybe I just got too many apple pieces or something but it just tasted like water with a smack of apple. Hot apple water.
In my experience, this tea is somewhat unrealised. I didn't have the temperature of the water at perfectly 212, I will admit, but even still, it was hard for me to taste anything particularly 'apple' or 'sour' about this tea. I did use plenty of the tea, also, so I hardly think that is the problem. I would quickly recommend this tea to anyone who tends to like flora, light tastes, and advise them not to be worried too much about the 'sour' in the name. Perhaps it is just meant to mean 'green' apple? Not sure. The colour of the tea is a nice rosy hue, and it smells quite pleasant. I will have to try to make a stronger cup this next time, and maybe it'll be realised...
I LOVE pretty much anything that is sour apple-flavored. The smell when I opened the bag was very, very strong, almost over-powering at first, but the taste is everything I expected from this tea. I mixed it with a little bit of caramel blend and it was amazing.
Every time I make it, it comes out differently. Try putting more cranberry pieces in one time, and apple another. Very versatile.
Tastes JUST like apples! Probably one of my favorite teas so far.
Very tarty tea...but was to be expected. Actually, it didn't have quite the punch I expected but wasn't too tart/sour either. Would go very good with some Halloween/Holiday blends.
I admit I am biased, since I love apples and love sour...but if that's what one shoots for, then how can it disappoint? :)
This tea tastes just like hot apple cider with a sour kick!
It's like tasting applesauce in a cup. That's how much of an apple taste you get while you're sipping, or simple sniffing the dry tea. I love it and I can't believe how big of an apple taste you get. I steeped it a near full steep to get the full taste. Overall, a great herbal tea to enjoy.
Sour, floral apple. better than the blood orange, but still unsure how I feel about sour flavored tea.
