212F for 7mins. Tea leaves smells vaguely ginger with more orange than anything, interesting but not bad. Cloudy honey color with more of a ginger smell. Initial sip had a strong kick with some throat burn. Subsequent sips still had burn, but not as bad. Honestly, it was pretty unpleasant and I can't see myself wanting a second cup...Or finishing the first.

Great ginger taste and aroma, very peppery but very good

I’m sorry to give this a bad review because it does exactly what it says on the tin, I just don’t particularly like this much ginger.

I like ginger and this is like drinking an intense ginger ale. Loads of flavor in this one. I can see this being a great drink when sick but otherwise not one I would want to get weekly.

Whoa, this tea really does punch you in the face as soon as you open the packet. It is zesty and spicy (but not the hot/capsaicin kind of spicy) - it isn't as abrasive once steeped, but it's still not a cosy, sipper-type tea. It still demands that you take notice, and you really have no choice but to do so.

In the bag: Finely chopped rooibos makes up about half of my packet. About a third is ginger, both in hard pieces and in stringy strands. A smattering of red peppercorns and two black ones.

On the nose (pre-steep): Not a ginger bomb, surprisingly. Instead, a balance of ginger and citrus. I detect orange and peach. A touch of sweetness.

On the nose (post-steep): The citrus notes have receded by a peel's thickness, leaving ginger in charge. I can still pick out the peach, but not other fruit. That sweetness is gone.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Ginger and pepper are the main players. A touch of citrus remains. The peppery spice lingers in the aftertaste. A bold flavor overall.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): Padding it with sweetener presents an extra pop of peach.

Opinion: A pleasant blend both unique and intriguing. The citrus notes are tasty and help to offset the zing of the ginger and pepper. I recommend sweetener to further calm that spark.

Preparation: 7 min @ 212 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

This tea woke me right up this morning! Upon opening my packet, I definitely smelled the warm, pungent scent of Ginger. Pouring out the packet, the key players -- ginger and peppercorns were definitely present and accounted for. After brewing, the spicy flavors were forefront. Any flavors of the fruits listed in ingredients were well drowned out by the ginger and pepper. But...I love ginger! I did tone this down just a tad with stevia and a sprinkle of non-dairy creamer (I can't have milk products). I liked bold tastes...so this was wonderful! Very spicy and tummy warming! I imagine this tea would be very soothing to an upset stomach as well. I'm going to order a bag!
1/20/23 - A lovely, spicy tummy-warming tea! Perfect for this chilly winter morning! I love the mix of ginger and peppery spice!

Todays communiTEA has some ZING! I love ginger, but was worried about the 8 peppercorns in my sample portion. I added a little honey and enjoyed my cup, but it's spicy!

UPDATED from 2/13/22: Ginger and citrus greet me politely as the CommuniTEA packet opens. It steeps into a cloudy golden color. As I take a sip, WOW - the ginger loudly jumps on my tongue like a rock star ripping an electric tune in my mouth with loud zings. This is one strong flavored tea. After I swallow there are fruity notes playing in the background, but not distinctly. The orange seems to be the main accompaniment to the ginger, allowing the other fruits to improvise around the melody. The peppercorns provide backup vibes and zest with the rooibos providing a safe stage for the production. But do not be misled, ginger is the major diva and star of this show, which is a huge hit with me. ( 5 mins @ 212ºF).

Packs a great punch of ginger and the red peppercorns are an added bonus to this tea; it's my go-to every morning, noon, and night!

★★★★☆

It has more ginger taste than most 'standard ginger' teas but I was hoping for 'burn your face off' ginger flavor which I don't get. I'm blaming the addition of peach which sweetens it out a bit. It's still really good and I'd buy it as a regular ginger flavor. The addition of peppercorns is a nice touch. Remove the sweet peach and it's one step closer to what I'm looking for

The strength of the ginger flavor is just right. I added a little honey and freshly squeezed lemon and it was fantastic.

★★★★★

It has a ginger beer taste profile. I like how strong the ginger is, but it could have a little more burn. Not quite as spicy as the yogi tea ginger, but a better flavor. I could do with even more of a kick. Still 5/5

I love the spiciness of this tisane - it's really made me appreciate the use of peppercorns. If you enjoy spice, I would definitely recommend.

This is not an update - because I would never have written previous. This is the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted in my life. I absolutely love ginger, the stronger the better, but this is totally spoiled by putting red and black pepper in it. Why would anyone want to do that? Totally stupid as far as I am concerned. On top of that Adagio has the nerve to say there is orange, strawberry and peach natural flavors - come on don’t make me laugh, there is so much pepper everything else is drowned out.

TAKE OUT THE PEPPER and this would be a 5 star tea

DO NOT steep this for full time and if you can take out the peppers that’s great. You must realize how bad this is - I have never written such a long review.

One of my favorite decaf infusions. Not too much ginger or pepper in either direction, but enough heat to warm the body and soul. This is very well-balanced.

This really warms me up on a cold day. I love the taste of ginger in this. It isn’t too strong and it blends well with the fruity flavors.

Needs longer brewing than some teas, but very worth the wait. My husband is in love with this stuff and we've made two or three custom blends based on variations of it. Especially recommended to blend with apple and chai spice type flavors! Even on its own it's a warm treat. The ginger is strong and pleasing but not overwhelming. Exactly what we wanted.

I found this a very soothing tea, the ginger and lemon grass notes really come out. I think I would improve the tea with honey and a splash of lemon.

This is a spicy, fragrant, and full-bodied tea. The ginger is more intense than other store-bought teas (I've tried many, including traditional medicinals, yogi tea, etc.), and the addition of the peppercorn gives it an extra kick. I use ginger tea as a digestif after dinner, and this one is now my favorite!

The rooibos lent a horrible scent and flavor to the tea. I like ginger and felt the spice of the tea. But the rooibos was too off putting. This tea went down the drain; undrinkable.

I love strong tea but this was a little too strong for me. I think it was the peppercorn that i didn’t like. It wasn’t a bad blend but just a little too strong

I wanted to like this. With a name like Double Ginger, you'd think you're getting a bold, robust, spicy tea. This tea is weak, bland and flavorless. I'm truly disappointed.

This is always a go to tea when your belly isn’t feeling the greatest. The ginger really helps to reduce stomach pains and bloating. The taste of ginger is very soothing.

I have tried ginger in the past and have been so-so about it, but after trying this blend, I'm now hooked. The flavor is bold and not too spicy. I add a mint leaf and some lemongrass to the blend and it's zesty and yummy.

★★★★★

Can you ever have too much ginger? Another winner with the wonder of ginger! This has become a favorite in our house.

★★★★★

This is absolutely a ginger lovers dream tea. It’s full bodied without being a slap to your tastebuds. I’ve recently lost a good chunk of weight and am constantly chilled. This takes that away!

★★★★★

Finished the sample and ordered a larger bag pretty quick - this is nice and strong, perfect for any kind of nausea. I like to keep some on hand for mornings-after.

It is a lot of ginger, which I would hope so since it’s called double ginger. Don’t expect the unexpected here

Ginger teas can be a hit or miss for me. This one is not my favorite -- I think the other spices overpower the ginger and take away from the flavor.

This tea is very gingery and the fruity notes compliment that nicely. The kick of pepper is a nice surprise. I like that it's caffeine free so I can drink it after dinner.

I ordered this after receiving a sample from my sister-in-law. I have fairly serious sinus problems, and the ginger and other spices in this blend are both lively and soothing.

Great smooth tasting tea. Hint of strawberry. Not bitter at all!

★★★★★

I've been on a years-long quest to find a ginger tea that is intense enough for me, and I've finally found it! While I appreciate the way the fruitier notes balance the ginger and give the flavour more depth, the spicy kick is front and centre all the way through. It's enough to make you sneeze in the best way possible. I'd steep it a bit longer than recommended if you want to get the full effect.

I brewed a pot of Double Ginger herbal blend in my daffodil yellow personaliTEapot which seemed fitting for this spicy ginger sip. I do enjoy myself an evening cuppa ginger tea! Double Ginger is mouth tingling spicy, citrusy sweet and definitely double packed with ginger. It wakes up the taste buds! It was just what I needed after a heavy dinner. I enjoyed it so much I drank the entire full teapot all by myself.

Loved this, excellent ginger zing and afternoon pick me up

★★★★☆

The four stars is more my fault for not looking closely at the ingredient list... the ginger itself is a pretty good level of zing, although I'm a ginger addict so I probably could have done with hotter. But I'm not a fruit-flavored tea fan and those flavorings mostly just distracted from the main show, in my opinion.

Amazing bite! It's good cold-brewed, but needs to be brought up to room temperature. When cold it doesn't have the right bite.
