White Monkey Customer Reviews

Green tea from the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in Fujian, China. The delicate, unopened buds appear perfectly white against the young, opened green leaves. Warm colored liquor with a fresh, almost wildflower sweet scent and slightly dry finish.

No flavor for me. Tastes like hot water and little else.

★★★★☆

A great morning tea, with sweet citrus notes that seemed to really perk me up.

★★★★★

I've been searching for so long for a green tea that I enjoy, and this is the first one that I've actually really liked. Doesn't really have the vegetal, grassy tastes of most other green teas I have tried. I really like it and will have to buy a full size to add to my collection!

a little subtle for me, although nice to experiment with different teas

★★★★★

Wonderful tea, will definitely be ordering it again.

★★★★★

An awesome green tea!!! Very balanced. Not too weak and not too strong. In the cup it has a nice clear green color. This is the best green tea I've had. Kudos to the cultivators and Adagio!!

★★★★★

I was super excited to see this one return to the Adagio tea line after a long absence. This is an excellent green with a surprisingly wonderful flavor. A real bargain!

Very smooth taste. I can infuse this multiple times and the taste is still there.

★★☆☆☆

It has a very grassy and floral taste. It would be ok, but once brewed, it smells like boiled peanuts to me, which is hard to get past.

★★★★☆

I like this tea pretty well. It's a good everyday green. I have other green teas that I like so much more (one of them is kukicha) that I will probably not have it regularly but I will keep it in my rotation.

loved this! Originally got this for my husband, but I enjoyed it as well!! The taste was so smooth!!

★★★★☆

Very nice flavor. Tastes great anytime of the day.

★★★★★

Nice green tea with a mild flavor, I tend to steep it for a longer time

★★★★★

This is definitely going on my favorites list along with Dragonwell and Gunpowder. It's got a depth of taste that reminds me of Dragonwell but it's a bit softer. An excellent, undemanding tea for lighter moods, or for taking to work.

★★★★☆

Very light taste but soothing. Like a bit more flavor to my green teas. Probably won't order again but glad I tried it

★★★☆☆

Basic green tea, but tasted somewhat bland or off. My brother enjoyed it.

★★★★☆

The white monkey was intensely delicate but had a smokiness that made me think of some oolongs. However, because of the lightness of it, it was easily overpowered by honey so I would suggest regular sugar if added sweetness is necessary.

★★★★★

Tried this one time, will give it another try. Did like the flavor. This time around, just can't get enough of this, does have an aftertaste, but not annoying.

★★★★☆

Good for a green tea, very subtle sweet, grassy flavor. It's good with or without sugar. I think this would make a great iced tea.

White tea is perplexing. It is extremely light and delicate, and to me it doesn't provide the complexity or stimulation of black tea. This one was ok, but maybe I just don't like white tea.

★★★☆☆

This is a good green tea. It's not my favorite but okay.

★★★★☆

A nice light green. Vegetal, definitely. Not too exciting to me, though. It wasn't bad at all, but there are other teas I'd rather be drinking.

This is my favorite green tea, It is smooth and simple in its flavor, and I never tire of it.

★★★★★

This tea is delicious, a light and nutty flavor which really hits the spot.

★★★★★

This is a lovely mellow green tea that produces a great brew.

Pretty delicious green tea. Definitely has me hooked on green tea finally!

★★★★☆

Chasing fame on this one and decided to go the sample route due to the cost per cup. I'm embarrassed to say it but I didn't see what all the fuss is about. It's green.

★★★★☆

A lightly flavored tea with a rich mouth feel. The dry leaves have a strong, vegetal aroma, which doesn't quite come across in the brewed tea.

Good flavor, but I personally need to brew this about a minute longer for the full seaweed/floral taste to shine.

This is a very good, very calming green tea. It tastes a little bit like leaves and is reminiscent of snowbud tea. If you like mellow green teas then this is a great tea for you.

★★★★☆

I like this tea although it's not one of my favorite white or green teas. I generally drink it in the afternoon.

★★★★☆

This green tea was similar to Sleeping Dragon, except there was more of a seaweed taste. Thankfully, that flavor was not over powering and still left it for a good cup. I could never have a pot of it, but a cup or two here and there was a lovely thing.

★★★★★

I really loved this tea, tried it as the free sample and can't wait to order more. Delicate and delicious sweet.

★★★★★

This is a good go-to tea, especially for those who may just be getting into discovering more types of tea. I definitely recommend lowering your temperature for this one so it can steep a bit longer. Goes great with some honey!

★★★★☆

This is incredibly light, both in taste and color. It's sweet, a little floral, and would be good for people that aren't fans of the traditional slightly bitter taste of green tea.

★★★★☆

A light tea with a surprisingly smoky vegetal taste profile. Floral flavor profiles more prominent at lower steeping temperatures.

Green tea with an amazing aftertaste that is subtle and sweet. Quite enjoy this one in the morning, it never disappoints.

★★★★★

This is a great tea. Very smooth and slightly sweet. This is the tea I recommend to people who don't like green tea. It is never harsh and bitter like some lower grade greens. At home I brew it with a few jasmine pearls which creates an excellent cup.

★★★☆☆

It's light. Really light. If you'd just handed me the freshly brewed tea, I would have said that it's a slightly grassy white tea. The liquor is very pale, and the flavor isn't robust. I can definitely see how someone coming off of a more traditional green tea would call this bland or flavorless. It's not doing a lot for me. I won't have a problem finishing the sampler pouch, but I doubt I'll buy it again.

★★★★★

Strange tea, looks like not tea at all but the taste is awesome

★★★★★

Love this tea!! So soft, and silky smooth taste. I will order this again for sure!

★★★☆☆

I enjoy the smell of this tea, but I wish the flavor was a bit stronger.

★★★★☆

The tea definitely has the vegetal taste and smell I expect from good green tea, but it didn't knock my socks off.

★★★★☆

I love the really grassy green teas. White Monkey isn't as grassy tasting as it is smelling. Love that seaweed smell! I actually (accidentally) let this tea get cold and it was even better chilled.

★★★★★

Love White Monkey this is light but very flagrant white tea

★★★★☆

A smooth and lite tea not to strong good after a meal

★★★★★

this green tea has a wonderful taste I really like it will order it again

★★★★★

I really enjoyed this tea, a lot more than I expected. As a lot of the reviewers mentioned, it's a VERY light tea, so you might want to use more than recommended, and be sure to steep it at the recommended temperature, though I went for 2.5 minutes rather than 2. The faintly honeyish taste comes through when it's hotter, and as it cools that fades and its more vegetal--so it kind of turns from a white tea to a green tea as the temperature drops. I actually enjoyed this a lot without sugar/honey (and I almost always take my tea with sweetener), but it would probably be good with a little bit of sweetness in it.

It is on the lighter side of the green tea spectrum. it is more floral in character. I would like a stronger variation, would recommend more leaves than just 1 teaspoon per cup.
